This is THEE BEST PLACE in town, and at any of the locations. I have been using them since 1983, and have never been disappointed. I used this location the last time someone banged into me and began using Tony’s first location back in the 80’s off of Adam’s street. I realize now there is a ‘split’ but I have used both and am so grateful people like them exist and have a service that is in demand. They are HONEST, KNOWLEDGABLE, AND FAST. I only wish they had a auto motive center for fixing cars and not just body work. They’d do very well in that industry as well because of their commitment to customer service.

This place is the BEST! If you’re like me you are probably a little suspect of car repair places, since there is no way to really know the issue/​problem and it’s a stressful time when your car isn’t working properly, so you can sometimes feel like you are being taken advantage of. Well, not here. The entire process, from first evaluation, to scheduling my car for repair, getting a car rental, dealing with insurance, the repair itself and final pick-​up was easy and seamless. The staff is great — especially Giovanna. She kept me informed at every step, managed my expectations, was professional and friendly. If I could, I would steal her away to work for me. And my car looks great! And with the clean up they did it looks like new — and that’s saying something because my car is 12 years old.

As you all know, it’s a horrible experience when your car is damaged. But I was blown away by not only the service Veronica gave me but by the condition of my car when I returned to pick it up. Everything was repaired to better than new condition and I was updated on my cars progress every other day. A car accident is a horrible experience but Carrillo & Sons and Veronica kept me updated on my car, finished it before expected and showed compassion from beginning to end. Thank you all so very much!!!

I have done business here at least four times. They are HONEST, they do all they can for you, and their work is the best. I even once had them install a window motor as they take doors apart all the time. Unlike the dealership, they were reliable, the work was done in great time, and the price was reasonable. I dealt with Giovanna this week and she was great. This is a great shop to use if you are a woman or uneducated in body repairs. They can be trusted. They detail your car, and their coffee is wonderful.

The customer service is outstanding and smooth. The work on my C-​MAX Energi was very good. Is is not inexpensive but they get it right. Low speed impact, approx. 20 miles per hour, passenger front door slight dented and back door similar dent, but internal damage as per Carrillo, needing a used door replacement approx. 6000 grands and ten days in the shop. Mitigating circumstance is that it is a relative new 2013 C-​max with premium paint. This probably makes it more expensive for parts and paint.

We had a wonderful experience at Carrillo and sons. The staff is very friendly, helpful, and they all definitely know what they’re doing and are very organized. We came to Unilocal looking for a good body shop in San Diego and stumbled across Carrillo and Sons. My husband and I were afraid that our car would never be the same and that the work done on our car wouldn’t match the rest of the paint on the car, but Carrillo and Sons did an amazing job! You can’t even tell there was work done on the car and we are so extremely happy with the work done. We definitely will refer all our friends to this auto body shop and will most certainly be coming back if any of our cars need work again! And they send you off with a nice detailed car (inside and out) and a cute little «thank you» goodie bag, awesome!

Amazing customer service! I left my brand new CR-​V (which was T-​boned 3 weeks after I drove it off the dealership lot) in their hands, knowing that their stellar Unilocal!reviews would vouch for their credibility.
12 days later, when they let me know my car was ready to be picked up, I was ecstatic. Even after a long rental car-​related delay, Giovanna stayed behind at the office an hour after normal business hours to personally hand over my car keys.
However, she had to break the bad news that the mudflap for my back left tire hadn’t arrived yet and some freak paint mishap meant my front bumper had a 1 ½ inch scratch in the paint and part of the plastic molding inside. I wasn’t too bummed (these things happen) but the sincere remorse Giovanna displayed when she adamantly reassured me that it would be fixed and my rental for the additional 2 days my car was back in the shop would be covered completely by Carrillo & Sons was sweet and made me feel like they really did care about doing a great job.
A week later once the parts had arrived, I was back at Carrillo & Sons, turning my car back over to them and knowing that they were so hellbent on doing a great job, I was confident that my beloved CR-​V would come back to her former showroom floor-​glory.
And she did! Freshly washed and wonderful, my car looked great and I walked away from my first big accident knowing that if it ever happened again either to me or someone I know, Carrillo & Sons will be the only place I’d ever recommend for body work.

Going my second time, unfortunately my car is a magnet for bad drivers. I have had nothing but a good experience. Good quality work.

I like this place because the people there are as nice and helpful as they can be. But best of all, they always do an excellent job on my cars. having an accident is no fun, but to know that these folks can put your car back to how it was before, is a comforting thought and help in reducing stresses. I highly recommended them to anyone that need an auto body repair. They are the best. I have been going to them in the past ten years.

Mostly good experience on an insurance claim. They detailed the car after they finished and everything was fixed like new to perfection.
While I would recommended Carrillo and sons, I would give friendly advice to anyone to inspect your vehicle. I found out three weeks later, the hard way, that my tail light was out. It was not out when I dropped my car at Carrillo, and the area they were working on was right by this particular tail light. Wish I would’ve inspected better and made them replace that light before I left.

Let me start by saying my car looks GREAT! I wish had taken before and after pictures to show the difference!
The whole process was extremely painless and the service was awesome. I was taken care of by Giovanna and she rocked, she kept me up to date on my car’s progress every step of the way. The Carillo brothers (Tony, Daniel, and David) were also extremely friendly and helpful. I mean this place really feels like a family run business! It has excellent customer service and honest people willing to help you out and try and get the best possible outcome for your vehicle.
5 stars hands down. Without a doubt I will be back if I ever need to. That being said I will also be referring anyone with auto body needs to see my friends at Carillo and Son’s.

I don’t hit things; things hit me. Seven times in the forty years that I’ve been driving, I’ve had to find a body shop, the sort of business that seems either to be run by carny folk, or by princely men whose prices fund their lovely lives. The searches have always been nerve-​wracking; the results, often mediocre.
My new RAV4 was recently grazed by an inattentive driver in a parking lot, causing damage to my car’s right rear door and quarter panel. To their credit, the man’s insurance company, Explorer, had a check to me within a week.
Ignoring the recommendation I got from my dealership, I turned to Unilocal,and after reading reviews written by my Friends Amber Elizabeth M. and SD Community Manager Brad B., I called Carrillo & Sons Auto Collision Center.
Carrillo & Sons is owned and run by Maria and her three sons: Tony Jr., David and Daniel, a family of smart, motivated and considerate people who have provided auto body repair since 1981.
They first operated a shop on Adams Avenue, and seventeen years later, opened the business at its present location off Mission Gorge Road. Carrillo & Sons occupies a beautiful building, 15,000 sq. ft. of «State-​certified green» facility, enough work space for 50 cars at once.
Such a fine facility might lead new customers to assume that Carrillo & Sons are pricey, and of course, body work is expensive, regardless where it’s done. But a quick check indicated that the company’s hourly rates — posted by the shop’s front desk — are in line with our City’s usual and customary fees for such work. And I had Explorer’s check in my pocket, along with their promise to absorb any supplemental billing. Price was not a problem.
Dropping by Carrillo & Sons to find out how they would proceed, I met estimator Giovanna Villaseñor, who looked over my car’s gouges, dents and scraped paint and said that though the repair wouldn’t be a problem, the shop’s schedule was tight, and that I’d have to wait one week to start the work, and five days for completion.
I accepted that schedule, thanked «Gio» for her help, and smiled at the offer of freshly-​baked chocolate chip cookies, one of the little touches that make Carrillo & Sons so feel so homely.
Returning to drop off my car, I was greeted by Gio, Tony Carrillo and his mom, Maria. The intake paperwork was thorough but simple, and about the time my car was logged in, a driver from Enterprise Car Rental presented himself, ready to drive me to his office, where I’d pick up my loaner, compliments of Explorer. Carrillo & Sons has a relationship with Enterprise, making that piece easy.
Before I left, I took a few photos, at one point ducking around the corner to look into the work area. On a whiteboard near the door, I saw a flowchart of the process the business uses to manage their work, including four quality control points. Four QC’s! That, not the cookies, was the thing that made me comfortable leaving my car in the hands of these friendly strangers, without a second thought.
Two days later, Gio called me with an update: my car had been repaired, and was headed to the paint shop. After that, she said, there’d be another couple of steps, the last being a clean and detail. I wrote the detail off; my dealership washes my car after they work on it, a quick shot with a hose and a sponge on the big outside metal pieces. I figured Carrillo and Sons would do the same. But again, I was wrong to assume; they truly did detail my car, providing me with the same quality of work for which I pay $ 150 to $ 200 at Body Beautiful.
The job finished late on Friday afternoon, and I was tied up with work, so Tony told me to come in Saturday morning, when he’d be working. Delivery was as painless as the rest of the job had been. He walked me to my car, showed me the repaired area, laid out the terms of their warranty and answered my couple of questions. I didn’t even have to return the rental; I was able to leave it with Carrillo & Sons, where Enterprise would collect it on Monday.
I left, grateful to Gio, Tony and Carrillo’s staff and crew, and as I told Tony, their attention to detail, commitment to quality work and positive talent for customer service all combined to make me wish they ran a restaurant, not a body shop. As it is, if you see me on the highway, please move out of my way. I’m inclined to hit you, now that I know where go to for repairs.

I’m grateful to my Unilocal Friends, especially Brad B. The repair process at Carrillo & Sons was a pleasure, and the results, outstanding. This, folks, is Unilocal at its best.

After 3 long weeks of insurance takings ages, i finally got my car back. It sucks that my car was vandalized but thanks to Carrillo they were able rebuild my dash, fix my windows and return my car back to me. Thanks a alot! special thanks for Ken & Veronica

Car totaled? Nope.
Fender bender? Not at all.
Ex-​girlfriend keyed my car? She wouldn’t dare.
Sideswiped by bank robbers making their getaway? I wish.
The truth of the matter is that my reasoning for coming to Carrillo & Sons was much, much, much more mundane — crunchy brakes.
When I talked to Tony he hoped for the best, (pads only), but totally prepared me to expect the worst, (rotors). Well, let’s just say if you’re going to receive the worst case scenario, it doesn’t burn as bad coming from, Tony.
After I initially dropped off my car, I was given a ride home in the shop truck. Don’t think greasy, dirty, billowing smoke shop truck, but rather, ridin’ high, freshly detailed, lap of luxury, fully loaded shop truck. Once home I was updated throughout the day (including a video of them trying to pry my rusted tire off), and filled in with the exact cost for repairs and estimated time of completion. With my authorization they proceeded to replace my rotors and offered to send that bichin’-ass truck to pick me up to grab my ride. Paperwork was ready, car was cleaned, card was swiped and my journey home was a hell of a lot safer than my ride there.
Thanks for the multiple rides, three bottles of water and of course the brake repair, guys. I’ll see you if/​when I cut off the guy with the super long fingernails from the Guinness Book Of World Records on the freeway, and if/​when he decides to retaliate on my paint job.

My daughter was hit by an out of state (Floridian) driver. His insurance company took responsibility for the accident. We went to Carrillo & Sons near the San Carlos area. This was our first accident…
Carrillo & Sons pre-​ordered the parts for us, fixed it in a matter of day to our satisfaction! Trust me I do insurance work myself. I know how difficult it can be. I was one of those difficult clients at first to Giovanna (service rep). I tested her patience and she did Very Well! Thank you Giovanna :) I only meant to show my daughter and teach her some life experience! She’s only 18 and she needed that lesson. I praise you for your patience and keeping your cool! GREAT JOB ON THE CAR!!! I will recommend you and your companies service to any one that I know. I hope you bosses praise you for your effort :)

I’ll start with the bad news; Unfortunately, I can’t comment on the quality of collision repair because I was never able to see the completed work by Carrillo & Sons. However, it’s because insurance company totaled my vehicle and no work was needed. RIP Mazda3.
The good news: Carrillo & Sons was one of the easiest collision centers I’ve ever worked with. For better or worse, this is the third vehicle I’ve had totaled by insurance, and the 4^th accident I’ve been in, so I have a bit more experience than I’d like.
When I was crashed into on a cold December night I knew immediately that my car may be totaled due to the fact it had to be towed off and the steering wheel no longer operated the axle. The poor thing never stood a chance.
Unfortunately the accident was a week before Xmas so it was a hectic time to be without a car and deal with insurance, but Giovanna was extremely helpful! After the inspection, based on the damage, and industry knowledge we were able to speculate that the car would be officially totaled 3 days before my insurance company gave me the decision. That’s three days of car shopping I got to get ahead on!
The entire staff was helpful in keeping me updated on my vehicle making a painful experience as painless as possible. It’s the little things that really make the difference, including emptying the CD player before they disconnected the battery for the inspection and offering to help unload the goods from my car.
You’re never prepared to be in accident, but luckily I didn’t have to worry much thanks to Carrillo & Sons, and especially Giovanna. While I don’t hope to need any collision repairs in the near future, I know where I’l be headed if I do!

Amazing customer service. I was here at the recommendation of AAA after another driver struck my BRAND NEW Mazda CX-​5. They handled everything and made me feel confident that my car would be well cared for. From arranging a rental car to pick me up to calling with updates and washing and vacuuming my car… All was handled quickly, and with a smile. They even remembered my name and car when I walked in to pick it up. My car was even ready one day early! Don’t even consider going anywhere else.
