It is old, it is run-​down, the equipment is a bit worn, and the smell of sweat pervades every square inch, but the Cass Street Gym has some kind of old-​school Rocky Balboa-​esque charm and is usually running a $ 99 six-​month initial membership special, and the owner/​manager is a nice guy. It feels like a real gym. It is definitely a marked contrast from the fitness chains that have saturated the county.
