Chapparone Auto Body & Painting is a family run business serving San Diego since 1974. Ever since opening we have followed, with passion, the motto «The success of our business depends on satisfied customers.» By offering great customer service and exceptional repair quality we have built a strong network of customers that continue to receive friendly service and quality repairs on ANY make, model, and year of vehicle. We do not consider ourselves a ‘specialty’ shop because we have a variety of technicians that are capable on working on any vehicle a customer desires. We work with you insurance company on any insurance claim, and we even have a detail shop on site so you can even come see us on a good note (not just after an accident!). Chapparone Auto Body & Painting continues to be family owned and operated as the third generation of Chapparone’s have recently entered into the business.

The best auto body shop in San Diego. Very nice people with great results. I have returned to this place 4 times for over 5 years with major and minor works. Excellent results. Side benefit… next to it there is an enterprise rental car.

Wow! I chose Chapparone because of the previous reviews I read and I am so glad that I did.
They did an amazing job on my car, it looks like I never did back into that pole. The best part is they finished before the estimated date and time. Throughout the process, I received regular and consistent information regarding the process. They worked with another company that went to install a new windshield while my car was there. They handled everything with my insurance. Everyone there was helpful and friendly. My car was filthy when I took it in. When I picked it up, it was sparkling clean inside and out. I will never take my car anywhere else for body work.

Chapparone’s Auto Body was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had when it came to repairing a car. I got into a fender bender around Thanksgiving and my boyfriend recommended me to Chapparone’s. I received other estimates around the county, but Chapparone’s was very straight forward and honest with me. I filed a claim with my insurance company (Geico) and Chapparone’s did all the rest. They were such a pleasure to work with and did an over the top high quality job. Even though their shop was full of high end cars, they still paid attention to my Toyota Prius. I would highly recommend this body shop to anyone looking for one!

I do my research on every product or vendor I deal with. I am very picky on who I use for my vehicles needs. I stumbled on this vender from word of mouth and its positive reviews. I was skeptical like anyone else would be at first sight reading so much positive feedback. I ended up choosing Chapparone for replacing the front bumper on my Lexus GS350. My biggest concern was color matching. Well upon arrival I was treated like family. It felt like I knew everyone there for a long time already. The process was super easy and the prices were fair, not cheap but just so you know, you get what you pay for. If you want cheap go elsewhere. If you want work done right and piece of mind, this is the place for you. Mark jr. and the staff were very attentive and knowledgeable. They took care of my baby and gave her back to me with no new damage and in decent time, with no long lead. Honestly it felt too good to be true but it was. So here I am a month later and I’m still super satisfied. They come highly recommended. Tell Mark that Hector sent you. Thanks Chapparone Family!

I took in my 2008 Black BMW after someone dented my rear right fender and the rim. I dealt with Tom since I entered Chapparone. Tom immediately did a walkthrough of my vehicle and then scheduled an appointment to bring it in. Tom kept in contact via email and sent me updates when they were available. When I picked up the car, I noticed that the rubber linings of my windshield and rear window were damaged. Tom explained that the rubbers on the linings for BMW’s tend to wear out pretty easily as time goes by. Since the vehicle was not like that when I brought it in, Tom arranged to have the rubber linings repaired at no cost to me. Within a couple of days, a company hired by Chapparone, came to my home and repaired the rubber linings. They did excellent work and the car looks great. The paint job was well done and all parts were repaired as quoted. Would definitely use again. Thanks Tom!

I did some serious damage to my daily driver MDX. These guys were highly professional, thorough, and accurate in their estimates. I learned a lot about how the dealer endorsed body shops really don’t know what they are doing and the customer ultimately pays way more. I would bring my car back to Chapparone anyday. :):)

I came to get an estimate for small scratches on the front bumber, there were no dents.
Chapparone wanted $ 934 and it would take 3 days to fix.
That’s too much for minor scratches and no damage in my opinion. So, I continued on to Penske across the street for an estimate. Penske told me to buy the exact color (in a little nailpolish-​size jar) at the cardealer store and come back. Afterwards Penske touched it up for free. It took less than 30 minutes and cost less than $ 10 (for the tiny paint jar).
I am NEVER going back to Chapparone.

These guys saved my truck from the junkyard twice!
Was the victim of a hit-​and-​run in 2008 shattering the entirety of the driver’s side headlight area, plus had extensive previous damage from a separate incident on the opposite side door. Chapparone fixed both for less than any estimate I’d received elsewhere IN THE STATE and did such a good job my family and friends legitimately asked if it was the same truck.
Flash forward several years later and my truck is a victim of a hit-​and-​run again. This time the drunk driver hit it with such force it lifted the back end and knocked it into a telephone pole. Geico was ready to claim a total loss, but because of my previous experience, i had them take the truck to Chapparone. To say the least, they worked an absolute miracle. They found a replacement truck bed in a salvage yard all the way in Bakersfield and saved my truck again.
I can’t say enough good things about them. They go more than above and beyond in the field of customer service and do such phenomenal actual body work to top it off.

Excellent experience and top quality work.
Smashed rear bumper repaired to perfection (new) and quicker than estimated turn around time. Friendly and relaxed atmosphere from beginning to end with updates in between. Can’t say enough great things. .. Go here if you want your car to look like nothing ever happened.

Really bummed about my visit here. After reading the reviews, I had high hopes that I would get a reasonable estimate to repaint a tiny scratch in my bumper. I was hoping for a similar experience as Gigi L’s in which I would be told that a little touch up paint would do the trick (I even said I would be okay with using just touch up paint), but that was the exact opposite of what I was told. I think they took one look at the make of my car and the fact that I am a female and assumed they could gouge me. I was quoted $ 1000 to repaint a scratch no larger than a blade of grass. ridiculous.

We came in for a minor scratch in our left rear bumper. Got an estimate from Chris (I believe that was his name– the brother of the owner). He buffed off our scratches and told us to get some touch up paint. It ended up saving us hundreds of dollar. All of this was done out of courtesy. I would come back here if I ever need any servicing.

My son’s front bumper was torn back from his Toyota Corolla right before leaving for college last week. I took some pictures and emailed them to Chapparone and got a reply back within a half an hour from Mark Chapparone. He cc’d his entire team telling me and them that they were to get my sons car in ASAP. He took it in today and said he had amazing customer service and they were able to put it in like new shape in less than an hour! Me and my son are thrilled!

I contacted Chapperone to get an estimate to have a small part of my bumper repainted. I sent Chris some photos so he could give me a more accurate estimate. After reviewing them, he emailed me back telling me that the damage was so minor that a little touch up paint would do the trick… Saving me $ 900-​$ 1000! I made an appt to have it touched up the following day. When I arrived, everyone was super nice and I was able to get in and out in less than half an hr. Omar did the actual touch up and was so nice and pleasant. Afterwards, I met w Chris to say thank you and he even gave me a small bottle of touch up paint to take home.
I had a wonderful experience and would recommend this place in a heartbeat.

A while back I hit some debris on the way to LA which shattered my right headlight and pushed my right fender back a bit. The fender itself was mostly ok until we opened the passenger door which pinched the edge of the fender inward. This made it hard to open the passenger door and also dented the fender.
I called around to some places to ask if it could be fixed and most said no. I went to a place in person to ask for an estimate and they wanted me to schedule an appointment just to have someone come out. I was especially annoyed since they had people just standing around but they couldn’t even come take a quick look to tell me if it was something they could fix.
I called Chapparone and they asked me to come in a few weeks ago and I finally decided to come in today. I came in early, no appointment or anything and asked for an estimate on the work. Within minutes I was outside and was told they could do it for free. I was shocked. They were able to pull out the dent and make it look nearly perfect within a few minutes. I wanted to write this review as my thanks. Definitely my go to place for body repair from now on.

My car was rear ended in an accident a few weeks ago, and boy am I glad I took my beamer to chapparone.
The customer experience here was fantastic. My car had body and paint work that needed done, and chapparone went above and beyond to not only work with my insurance without a single hassle, but to delver the car a week early and in near-​perfect condition.
The beamer had some wear on it from car washed and road debris over the years, and they polished everything out to make the paint match perfectly.
These guys have a lot of 5 star reviews, and they deserve it. I will only be taking my car here from now on. Ask for chris! He’s the best.

Went in for a quote on a broken bumper on my new-​to-​me car. Walked in with no appointment and was greeted kindly by the staff, and an ADORABLE little dog that «works» there. I was in and out in about 15 minutes. Very knowledgeable. I ended up just buying a bumper online (it was cheaper) and had a DIFFERENT mechanic install it because they owed me some work for crashing my car. I WISH I would have come to Chapparone anyway. I’m positive they would have done better work.

Chapparone Auto run by the Chapparone Family is a great place! been going here for years. Mark Jr. and Mark Sr have always been good to me and treated me fairly and honestly. The work has always come out better than expected. any car modifications or paint work i need i always call Chapparone Autobody first! seriously worth checking out.
PS. Mark has an adorable little French Bulldog that runs around the shop. Coolest French Bully ive ever seen!
