I’ve been on Unilocal for 6 – 7 years and this is my first negative review.
Rude, unprofessional and sloppy is how I would describe my experience.
I walked in as a few employees gathered in the back of the salon grudgingly dreaded to do my nails. They playfully fought amongst each other deciding who would be the one who had to serve me. The employee that lost the fight and had to give me a pedicure treated me with disrespect and even made faces as she gave me a pedicure! I couldn’t believe it. Worst nail salon experience I’ve ever had!
Don’t go here.

I love it here! Very professional and excellent mani and pedi! Sandy even did my nails first so that they had time to dry before grocery shopping! She did a great job cleaning up my nails and her foot massage was pretty great too! The place is very clean and even tho it was busy they were able to accommodate everyone even by doing some manis while people were getting pedis.: ]

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Everyone at Christine Nails is awesome. I have been going there for years and have not had a bad experience. I am very particular about my nails and once I find one that is great I will stay with them for years as I have at Christine Nails. I have been going there for over 5 years.

I have been going to Christine’s nail salon for a long time, and drive a half an hour from my house, because it is that good. Sandy is my nail lady, she really takes the time to do an excellent job. I get the pink and white filler, and everyone comments how great and natural they look. Everyone is very friendly and I would highly recommend this nail salon!

Love love love this place. I’ve tried several nail salons in pacific beach and was never truly happy with the places. Recently I found Christine nails and have never looked back! I’ve been going to Sandy (she is the manager) and she is the best. She takes her time and does a fantastic job. I’ve also gotten plenty of pedicures there as well and they always do a great job with the massage and color. Not to mention it’s always so clean in there so glad I found such a great nail salon in pb!

I just love Sandy! If you’re the kind of girl who likes to find your perfect manicurist and stick with her on a regular schedule so that you can look good all the time, then she’s for you. Nice and friendly, good conversationalist if that’s what you want or just sit quietly, either way It’s Sandy. I’ve read some of the comments here and it’s hard to match this place with what they write. Best way to get her is call for an appointment.

I love this place! Sandy saved me from a very poorly done $ 50 white tip set. I found out my regular gal no longer works at Q Nails, so I Unilocal another nail salon and one in Rosecrans area pops up and is highly recommended… bad choice. The worst job ever and most expensive! That was last week. So today, I’m walking into Itan and see Christine’s and figured to give it a shot. Score! I found my go to spot! Thank you Sandy

One of the Best places in PB to receive a relaxing spa pedicure. Extremely relaxing and luxurious. Also hygienic. Literally every nail tech is amazing and no mater who services you your end result will be amazing.

My regular nail spot! Sandy always takes care of me. She pays attention to detail and I really love the feel of her gel nails. I would recommend!

All the girls at Christine Nails are friendly and do a great job. I happen to have Sandy, the manager, as my primary nail lady. She’s great!!! They take both walk-in’s and appts. but I always make my appt ahead of time! They do manicures, pedicures, gel, acrylics, waxing and have relaxing massage pedicures! Also, they’re in the same shopping center as Starbucks, Jamba Juice, Axara Greek delicious sandwiches, VONS, CVS, Massage place, Einstein Bagels, Tuesday Morning, and so many things! FABULOUS Location!

Not only was this crew rude but they wasted my time and are awful at nails.
I have been getting gel manicures for 3 years consistently and this was by far my worst.
I came with my mother and my sister and was greeted by Sandy saying she didn’t have time. So we sat and waited… Sandy began to do my nails and was very aggressive and rude to me. While she was doing my nails, a fly landed on my hand and I yanked it out. She finished my nails and said that when I yanked my hand out, I ruined her gel nails. This was totally by true, she had put too many coats and the gel couldn’t dry, so it peeled off and was wet underneath. Sandy said to come back the next day, so I did. I came back the next day and was given a different woman who had NO IDEA WHAT SHE WAS DOING! She finished my whole manicure, messed up, blamed it on my positioning of my hand under the light, when really she had just done too many coats. She had to file it all off AND START ALL OVER! My nails looked pretty at the end, but come on! Only go here if you like crappy service that takes forever.

Let’s start from the beginning… I chose a color for my nails that the girl looked for for literally 10 minutes. After she couldn’t find it, I was told to pick another because a lot of the colors on their display nails were not available. This was the case for 2 other customers during my time there. The employees spoke in Vietnamese (or other language) the entire time… Laughing and carrying on, making me feel extremely uncomfortable. Extremely. Then, this conversation got in depth between the employees that the girl doing my nails was not paying attention and took a huge chunk of skin out of my finger (not even my cuticle). She had to wipe it several times with a dry wash cloth because it would not stop bleeding. She did apologize but did not clean it, in fact, she poured alcohol on it. UM… Ow. After she finished my nails, she told me the total and then was confused when I asked what sort of discount she was planning on giving for butchering my finger. She barely spoke English so the owner came over. She was actually great-​which is why I hate to only give a 1… But my overall experience was more than just «bad». The owner took $ 10 off my total and cleaned my finger with an antiseptic. She sincerely apologized making me feel a little better when I left. The aggravating part, I get a nice reminder every time I wash my hands, put lotion on, etc.

I even gave this place a second chance.
Pedicure itself looks alright, but I like to get a pedicure for the foot scrubbing and cuticle removal.
After barking «what you want?» when I walked in, dropping several tools on the questionably clean floor and reusing them, and ripping off my cuticles (causing them to bleed), and then saying that the price «no include tip…» I will not be back.
My entire Spa Pedicure lasted 15 minutes.
Here’s your tip– when there’s no one in there waiting, don’t rush through a pedicure to get back to your trienta Starbucks latte and then demand a tip.

My gel manicure itself was mediocre– I’ve had better but it wasn’t bad, definitely nothing to write home about. What makes me give this place one star is what I witnessed while getting my manicure. As I sat there another staff member sat in front of the shell mirror décor on the walls and applied her make up. In the middle of putting her foundation on with her hands she picked her nose several times. A client then walked in for a pedicure to which I watched the staff member walk over, without washing her hands, turn the pedicure tub on and rinse her hands in the water that was filling the tub. Then proceeded to give the woman a pedicure. The place looks a little dirty and worn-​down to begin with and then add that unsanitary scene– GROSS! I will not be returning.

Christine’s Nails is by far the best nail place to go to in San Diego! I have been going here for YEARS and Diane does an amazing job EVERYTIME! All the ladies are increadibly nice and I always enjoy going here to get my nails done!

Never going here again! I came in for a fill since I was in the area, this is NOT my usual spot. The menu said a fill for acrylics was $ 19. After I sat down, she said it was $ 15 more, so $ 34 for a fill?! To me that was WAY too much but I didn’t have time to look for a different spot, boy I wish I would have. I’m not even sure you can consider what she did to my nails a fill?! I had 2 nails lifting, which my regular salon would remove and replace or at least glue down. This lady just filed them down, coated with gel and had me put under the UV lamp at least 3 times. They did look pretty, however, they did not last and TWO broke within 3 days! Save your $$ and go somewhere else!!!

I have been to this nail salon twice and both times I have left with beautifully done nails! This is a typical nail salon were you can go an get the service without too much chit-​chat. With that said the staff is still very polite and knowledgable. I love that they are able to so both a mani and a pedi at the same time. They are fast without compromising the quality. Very excited to have my engagement photos done tonight w /​my beautiful French manicure!

I came here for a pedicure and it’s $ 18! The service was awesome, everyone was very accommodating and this place is very clean! It’s located in the Vons shopping center behind Jamba Juice and Starbucks. My nails turned out fabulous and I had a wonderful experience overall! I would recommend this place to everyone!

Yes, the place is nicely organized and clean but service was terrible. No smile (when I walked in the girl almost yell at me «what do you want») and the girls who works there looks bored as hell. I was the only one in the place, went for the $ 18 pedicure which was a total rip off. She scrubbed my feet for 13 min (!!) and I felt like she was following some kind of todo list without caring about the result too much. Bad service, bad pedicure, bad experience.
And if you pay with credit/​debit they charge extra dollar. I hate that!
