Providing hair loss solutions in San Diego for men and women for over 25 years. We are San Diego’s only location for Virtual Reality Hair for men, Sensigraft for Men and Virtuesse for Women along with Reallusions for Women. Dermatex offers Laser Hair Therapy for men and women. We also offer a free private, hair evaluation, scope, and consultation along with hair cutting, styling and shampooing and conditioning. Dermatex also helps clients of other centers with their non-​surgical hair replacement needs and their hair systems.

Many of our clients had hair extensions previously. We work on many of these clients with state-​of-​the-​art hair loss techniques.

We understand that hair loss in women and men can be devastating in many ways. We also are aware that this is a very private matter and honor that privacy.

Many of our clients also have had hair transplants previously. With our procedures we are able to make them look better without pain.

Dermatex provides information on all types of hair loss and thinning hair solutions at the complimentary consultation. We have a vast amount of experience in the field and we are happy and excited to share it with all.

History

Established in 1989.

Dermatex in San Diego was founded in 1989 by a client and is still owned by clients of Dermatex. Many of our clients have come from other clubs and centers as they were seeking better service and more value. Many more have come from direct referrals from our clients. We are extremely proud of that accomplishment. We strive every day to help our clients have the best hair possible.

Dermatex has been chosen to be the only San Diego affiliate of Transitions International, an association of the premier hair replacement studios in the world.

Having thinned and experienced hair loss at an early age, Tuck decided it was time to do something about his hair loss. He considered hair transplants and other hair loss solutions before finding Dermatex. This changed his life and he has dedicated himself to providing the best hair replacement options for men and women who are experiencing hair loss.

Tuck, an expert in hair loss and hair replacement, has been featured many times on morning shows in San Diego.

I have been dealing with my hair issues for over 30 years and had hair transplants back in 1977. Back then the result was good and I still had a lot of my own hair. However, with age, you realize you don’t have enough donor sites to get the expected results. Then at that time I started looking at a weave and a hairpiece and ended up with a Tailor Top for over 20 years. After researching the matter further, finding an organization that does not have negative feedback and knowing a customer, led me to Dermatex. I met with Tuck and he answered a lot of the questions I had asked him as well as noticing how natural his hair looked. Then at that time, with a lot of support from my wife, I became a client and Trish is my stylist. The support staff and Trish make you feel more than a client, and someone special. Trish takes a lot of pride in the way I look when I leave the facility and when I look at myself in the mirror, looking at my hair and having knowledge of the various procedures and facilities out there, I know that I made the right decision. The way I look and feel, I can’t really find the words to describe the joy and confidence I have when I walk out the door. I have a look and feeling that you can not put a price on. Going to Dermatex is one of the best decisions I have made in this lifetime. People at work, family and friends ALL tell me that I really look good and give me a lot of positive input without dwelling on the subject of my hair. Thank God for Dermatex and I look forward to a long relationship with Dermatex and the wonderful staff.

I have to agree with all the reviews except one of them — somebody named Rluntha D. — who I’m convinced — must be from the competition. To be so angry — in a consultation? It sounds completely contrived because anybody who has ever met or dealt with these folks knows better. Here’s my experience with Tuck and his staff:
I’ve known Tuck and his staff for years (that’s right — same staff) — and, have gotten to know many folks who depend on them to look great. Thinning hair is a concern for lots of people — guys and gals. Tuck is the person you see every year on San Diego morning shows — because — he really cares about his profession — and how his business is keeping up with the times — and that includes (the latest) technology he can offer to his clients. I can tell you — as far as they are concerned — all the folks I know and talk to — are so self-​confident and know they are well taken care off. If you have the slightest concern — a quick phone call — and you get in — problem solved. Need to go out of town for business trip or something else? They’ll make room for you. All you have to do is call him — sight unseen. If you have any reservation about going down there — first — talk to him — ask questions. He’s very good at what he does and — as important — chooses the right people to take care of things.

My hair had been thinning for several years. I had used some shampoos and other so called «hair growth» products. I even tried a coverup thing. They did nothing,. My hair continued to get thinner. When I started having to change my style that was it. I was gonna do something. I did lots of research then I found Dermatex on Unilocal.
I went in and talked to them and they were cool. No pressure. They understood what I was talking about. The person I talked to had lost his hair and that is how he started that job. I went with what they recommended to me. I am extremely pleased. The people here really know what they are doing. I know the company and the staff has been there a long time. Not worrying about hair loss anymore is really a relief.

My hair was starting to thin. I was experiencing hair loss. It was just starting to become noticeable. I used a couple of shampoos and over-​the-​counter remedies but they did not seem to help. I went to Dermatex and started using one of their hair treatments that they recommended using laser. My hair looks so much better and thicker now. I am really happy with the results. I would recommend this company to people who are losing hair,. They are very easy to work with and are a no-​nonsense organization.

About 2.5 years ago I began losing my hair and lost about half the thickness that I had 5 years ago. I saw a dermatologist and his recommendation to me was to use Rogaine. I did use Rogaine, but only grew in a little bit of peach fuzz, that didn’t help the rest of my scalp to grow thick hair. I became desperate because my self confidence was very low and didn’t know what to turn to.
I began using the laser hair treatment 6 months ago and will continue to use it. It has allowed me to regain my self-​esteem by a noticeable increase of volume to my hair. My ponytail is thicker and I no longer feel that people are staring at me in a negative way. I strongly recommend this for anyone who feels badly about their hair and wants to improve their look.
