History

Established in 2008.

Welcome to Diverge Personal Training Gym. San Diego’s first personal training gym designed with two distinctively different exercise modalities.

Created in 2008, Derek Heintz and Brian White combined their 25 years of business and personal training background to create what is now known as San Diego’s «most distinctive» personal training experience.

Business Owner

Diverge Personal Training Gym is owned and operated by Brian White and Derek Heintz.

Brian and Derek’s paths through their personal training careers have crossed in the past. They joined forces in 2004 after running their own private businesses to create Edge Fitness. In 2006 they «diverged» and opened separate training businesses. Derek continued Edge Fitness and Brian started Brian White Fitness. They have both enjoyed success together and on their own, but decided in 2008 to join forces again, this time to open a luxury personal training gym.

The name Diverge is loosely based on their business relationship paths and on the training modalities they offer at their facility. They wanted to create a gym that offers the best in personal training in the intimacy of a private gym.
