I cant say enough great things about Dr. Chip Computer Solutions. I rely on my computer for my livelihood so it is imperative that whenever I have a problem with it I know there is somewhere I can always go and receive the highest quality of work at a reasonable rate and can count on accurate diagnosis, Moreover I feel like they truly care about getting me up and running as soon as possible. Computer sick… then take it to the Dr.
They cure whatever ails.

This is a great little place to get used, like-​new Apple products for about 50% of the retail price.
Since the day I bought my first PowerMac G4 in 1997, I’ve been an avid Apple user. If you take care of your Mac computer, it will usually last about 7 – 10 years. They never get viruses and they are hassle-​free.
Problem is, they are expensive. A new MacBook costs about twice what a comparable PC costs.
The solution? Buy Apple products used like I do. You can get something that’s barely used for only half the price.
Mohamed has a great selection of products and is very knowledgeable.

Needed a new screen for my MacBook. Got a great price and even better service. Dr. Chip and his staff are experts and they care about optimizing the functionality of your computer. Very direct about pricing and the relative benefits of the options. While waiting for some work to be completed, had a chance to observe how other customers were treated… excellent service for everyone.

Great shopping experience. My problem was quickly and efficiently solved and it seems the owner truly cares about his customers and high quality products. Check Dr. Chip out!

After realizing I COULD NOT pay $ 1500+ for a new macbook, I looked on Craigslist and found a MacBook Pro for $ 329 at this shop. I was definitely a little skeptical. Went in and let the Dr know what I needed and what I need it for. I didn’t understand the whole gigabyte system and he drew it out for me on paper and explained it for me to understand. After deciding to make the purchase, he asked if I had a charger. I told him yes and the kind, then he said — oh no, you should have this one, and gave it to me for free! He also explained the best way to charge my battery to give it the longest life, as well as how to properly plug it in and where the sensitive areas on the charger are — in order to extend the life of the charger itself. He told me to call if I have any questions or problems at all. He is very matter of fact. Great service.

Do not waste your time here. I made the mistake of purchasing new Apple iMac accessories through Dr. Chip. A tab of $ 260 in total. Out of the box one of the new keyboards (which was clearly used) had an entire row of keys that did not work. No problem. I took it back to Dr. Chip to swap out. Within a couple of weeks the second «new» keyboard began to malfunction. I called to exchange for my second new keyboard and was told that he would order another one and have it ready to pick up after the weekend. I call today to check the status of my keyboard and my inquiry was met with the rude reply of «Sorry, it’s been more than 30 days since the original purchase». I explained that my 30 day guarantee should have reset when I picked up my second defective keyboard. He simply exclaims «I can’t afford to keep exchanging keyboards». Awesome customer service! Don’t take my word for it, call the guy up yourself to experience misquoted prices and condition of products met with a rude and condescending attitude. Just don’t buy any «new» accessories here anytime soon… Unless you are looking for a bait-​and-​switch shop.

I went out of my way to go here today but no one was there despite being during their hours of 10 to 4. I called the number provided and the person working said that he had just stepped out a minute ago and would be back in 30 minutes and asked me to wait. Mind you there is nothing to do there, as it’s on kind of a sketchy road to begin with. I asked if he could just turn around so I could buy the charger that I had come for, and he said no. I certainly won’t be back to try again. Call before you go to make sure someone is actually around.

My battery had bursted on my computer and decided to checkout Craigslist for a new OEM battery. Anyhow, I cam across these guys! (I was somewhat skeptical, but I’m always open to be proven wrong!).
I called their number and Mohamed answered; telling me «come in to my store, I’ll take care of you». I met up with him that evening to pickup JUST the battery. He gave me some guidance on proper data management with my computer, upgraded my memory ram from 1gb to 4gb (SURE MADE A DIFFERENCE IN PERFORMANCE!!!), and got me a nice Eco-​friendly bamboo computer stand. I was looking to buy a new computer, but after his knowledgeable advice and about $ 150 in with all the extras; I was stoked!
He saved me hours of frustration and future headaches with my computer!!! Much thanks for the information… I will be repeating business; whether it be fore advice or needing any upgrading hardware or software.

I found Dr. Chip while looking for a replacement cord and battery for my Macbook Pro. I originally tried Craigslist, Ebay, Amazon and the Apple store and everything was really expensive. Then I found this guy. Amazing. If you have a mac you need to go here. I waited a few weeks to make sure everything worked and they do.

There aren’t enough stars to give Dr. Chip — I found him when I was looking for a replacement for my Ibook while visiting from Los Angeles. Now in the SD area I needed to upgrade my computer and once again Mr. Hammad and staff worked tirelessly for me, gave me many options and have purchased a MacBook Pro I am in love with. They listen, they help, they work with you on price … I can’t say enough — to find a computer solutions person who is honest and so easy to understand and so lovely to deal with… YOU ARE THE BEST! Always a pleasure. I will definitely be back but since his work is sooooo goooood it probably won’t be for a while.

I bought a Mac from Mohammad at a really good price. The screen size Ram and having a DVD burner was everything I was looking for. He assured me everything worked fine. After I took it home I realized the battery wasn’t staying charged and the DVD burner didn’t work. I called him and he told me to bring it down the next day. When I brought it down the tech was there as I explained what wasn’t working. Mohammed called me the next day and told me it was fixed. I went down to get the computer and he explained that they replaced the battery and the DVD burner all at no charge. It’s one thing to say they back up there work but Dr Chip stands behind their products and are very knowledgable about Macs. I highly recommend these guys for a computer purchase or having your computer serviced.

Mo Hammad is a boss! Apple couldn’t do the data recovery for my MacBook Pro but Dr. Chip didn’t even break a sweat. Prices are reasonable and he will work with you on the price. Credit Cards accepted.

I have purchased multiple refurbished Apple products here, and they’ve continued to work splendidly. The service here is excellent. Friendly and helpful. They DO accept credit cards, and offer warranties on their products. I will definitely be back.

My computer was running slow, I took it in to Dr. Chip and less than an hour later my computer was running great. Easy to find, reasonably priced, knowledgeable and great costumer service. I will defiantly be back. Thanks Mo Hammad and friend!

Love Dr. Chip. Very honest, excellent prices. Mohamad and Christian are wonderful. I dropped off my iMac to have the inside cleaned (to remove the 7 years of dust which kept causing it to overheat), and to upgrade memory. Computer works like a dream. Also, they definitely DO take credit cards –contrary to another Unilocaler’s review.
The hours are from 10 — 3. Open Sat as well.

I found this place on Craigslist. I was looking for an Apple battery for my older macbook. The owner said he had them. I asked if it was an Apple battery and he said yes. I wasn’t convinced so I tried to confirm «Is this an OEM battery», he said «Yes». He then went on to give me a condescending lesson that made me feel kind of stupid. I got of the phone feeling confident it was an Apple branded OEM battery and drove down there the next day.
He pulls out a Chinese replacement off-​brand.
When I asked him if he understood what OEM meant and what I was trying to ask him on the phone, he literally argued with me about it.
I have had numerous vehicles in my life including an old Mustang my Father passed to me. If I want the part that the manufacturer chose as the best part for this car, I ask for the Ford OEM. Everyone understands what I mean. Apparently not this guy.
While Apple might make their parts in a Chinese factory, they oversee the production and quality control and therefore I think Apple OEM (and most people I know) feel it’s a superior part.
For the wasted trip, a guy who might just have been doing this far too long, and a customer isn’t right in any way experience, I give it 1 star.
Don’t expect to get an original APPLE branded OEM over-​seen/​manufactured by Apple (WHATEVER) part here even though it appears he’s using Apple’s images as examples on his internet advertising.

What a great guy! I came to buy a charger for my laptop and was really impressed. Mohammad is very knowledgeable and helpful. The prices are excellent… I’d highly recommend this place! I’ll be back for sure! Great customer service! …I had a hard time visualizing where it was. It’s the street behind in n out by the 5 and Balboa.

I can’t say enough good things about Thiago Batista at Dr. Chip. I have a Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop that I was ready to throw away. It would automatically restart after putting it to sleep or hibernate, would often come up with the windows error recovery screen or blue screen. Thiago spent several hours trying to figure it out, reloaded a brand new OS, and then as a last step he replaced the CMOS batter on the motherboard which fixed everything! Charged me the flat rate ($ 79) plus the battery cost. Can’t say enough good things about his effort or expertise.

After getting repair estimates from a handful of laptop repair businesses in the area, I found that Dr. Chip was not only the cheapest, but also the quickest repair shop in town. The owner and the worker were very nice people. I dropped my laptop off and it was repaired within a few hours. Also, the place is easy to find and located in a quiet area.
