I found out about this company at another wedding I had attended prior. Super cool dudes to work with. After speaking with several (more like 7 – 8) bartending services, this one was the most honest and down-​to-​earth that we contacted. All the others tried to upsell like hell on mixers, ice, etc… but First String took the time to listen to what we really wanted and offered us exactly what we asked for! Richard was always prompt in responding to us and was always happy to answer any questions we had. I would definitely use them again!

Richard is awesome! I worked with him for an event I coordinated on New Year’s Day at Moniker Warehouse. He is personable, responsive and all around awesome! I would highly recommend!

Richard was excellent in bartending our private cocktail party and all the guests thought he was great. This is the first time we’ve used a bartender vs. ‘make your own’ open bar and it was a success. We had a ‘signature cocktail’ that was also a hit. I also truly appreciated the quick and complete communication in response to all my questions, and Richard also took the initiative to confirm all our agreements in an email just prior to the day of the party so I would be certain to know he had it all down and we were covered… truly appreciated that! Yes, I definitely recommend First String Bartending!

Richard and his staff were amazing and helped make our end of summer party a hit! From the start, Richard was quick to respond to all of our questions, and he made it so easy as a one stop shop for all of our bar needs. The ice luge was amazing and so much fun! They were so professional and friendly with our guests, I would highly recommend, five plus stars!

If I could give these guys 10 stars, I would! Our 4^th of July Vegas-​style pool party was a huge success thanks to First String. I’ll start by saying this is not the first time I’ve hired bartender and server help for a party so I’ve worked with a number of vendors in the past. The difference with Richard and his First String staff is the PROFESSIONALISM, attention to DETAIL, and LOVE they have for what they do. We hired Richard (bartender), Vasthi (server), and Alex (buser +) for our event. Prior to my event, Richard kept good communication. He took the time to create a drink shopping list for my headcount and drink selection making it extremely easy to buy exactly what we needed, down the to stir straws. On the day of the event, he and his team arrived right on time in uniform and began setting up immediately. We made sure they had everything they needed and from that point forward, I was able to sit back and enjoy.
Alex bused but also manned my front door to show guests in as they arrived. He also helped with some setup and made sure my guests took their gift bags. When the caterer arrived, he showed them to their designated spot so they could set up, I didn’t have to lift a finger. :)
Vasthi was an outstandingly attentive server. She was very friendly and our guests all commented (even the following day) on how good she was. It’s great to have a server that smiles all the time! She walked around frequently, checking on guests and making sure they were well treated.
Richard, aside from being an awesome bartender, is a real people person. He made conversation with guest and everyone LOVED him. He was also extremely attentive and knowledgeable. His branded light up bar is the way to go. It’s a full pro setup in excellent condition and really gives a professional feel.
Overall, I cannot stress enough how excellent First String was and how thankful I am for their service. My advice to other Unilocalers is take a few moments to put together a list of instructions/​directions and give it to them like I did. They are so good at what they do, they’ll make sure everything goes off without a hitch.

Richard and his staff did a wonderful job at my Mad Men themed 40^th birthday party. The girls happily dressed the part. The bartenders looked great. They were incredibly flexible and easy to work with. Everyone had a good attitude which made them part of the party. I received several compliments on the drinks we served. They left the glassware rinsed and the bar counters clean. That made overall cleanup in the morning so much easier. I thought their pricing was reasonable. I would definitely use them again and would recommend them to anyone looking for bartenders and wait staff.

I have been throwing parties now 10 years for business events and personal events. I have never been 100% satisfied, until now. Richard and Vanessa were perfect! Everything I asked for I got, and the 130 guests at this weekends party were also super happy. WE had two floating servers that made a difference as well. But Richards attitude was great as his service and staff were… I will never use anyone else and I highly recommend him, no joke… email me if you like but there the best!

My Holiday Cocktail Party was a complete success due to the AMAZING and PROFESSIONAL Bartending services of First String! Terry was perfect tending the bar and the guests loved his wonderful drinks and fun spirit. Eli also went above and beyond working behind the bar making things run so smoothly. Oscar was the DJ and he was AWESOME with such a great set up with light effects and great sound. I would highly recommend the ICE DRINK LUGE! I can’t wait until my next party and the first call I will make is to Richard at First String to have them all back again to ensure that it will be a COMPLETE SUCCESS! All of our guests enjoyed the party and especially the 2-​Bartenders from «FIRST STRING.» All the women enjoyed Jake and all the men really enjoyed Nathalie! They served up some awesome drinks which kept everyone in a very HAPPY mood. First String did it again! Score a 10-​out-​of-​10 for them. That’s why they are called «FIRST STRING»!! Having a party? We had a party months ago and Richard was so great to work with. He worked with me to customize a drink menu and his staff is soooooo professional! Fast, nicely dressed, courteous and extremely thoughtful! Our event was flowing smoothly all night and their prices were very reasonable! I was very happy with their services and they will be my go to in the future !!

I do not know where to start. First string bar tended my rehearsal dinner. They were so professional, and positive the whole time. they went above and beyond the services that we originally agreed upon. My guests loved them!!! Such professionalism. I would hire them to work any other party I have! I recommend First string to everyone that wants complete friendly professional service!

First String helped us out with our Halloween party & they were awesome! So friendly, professional & helpful. We didn’t have to worry or deal with the bar & could enjoy the party. We hired FSB based off of a friends reference for our wedding on Friday at Luce Loft. Richard was AWESOME! Ever since our initial emails about the service he has been nothing short of amazing. He is prompt and happy to answer any questions you have. He even creates a list of what you need to purchase and how much– which was extremely helpful. Richard and his staff were a hit at the wedding– all of our guests raved about how friendly they were and the delish drinks– and tricks he provided. He was very professional through the whole process and on the day of gave my family and friends outstanding service! Richard kept in constant contact with me and assured me that he would deliver on everything I asked for, and he did just that. He received so any compliments from my guest on how friendly and professional him and his staff were. Richard created special mock tail drinks for my daughter and her friends and they loved it!
