Four Points By Sheraton San Diego

Stayed over Christmas for 5 days visiting friends & family. Nice place. Nice room. Very comfortable king size bed. Great price, great deal!

This was the worst stay I ever experienced at a hotel. Our service was terrible, and they didn’t have any water. We were visiting for a wedding, on 1÷16÷16 the day we checked out the water was on working and no one told us, we called the front desk and no one offered any water or compensation. Then we never received new towels nor had our room cleaned as requested, the paint in the room was chipping and peeling from the wall. We left from the hotel to the airport without being able to brush our teeth. They only tried to offer free continental breakfast until we complained then they say they were giving a reimbursement for the night with an already started list. As of today I still have not received my refund for this inhumane stay. I’ve called every day and get the run around. This was a complete disaster I do not recommend anyone stay at the hell hole

TERRIBLE. First room had rusted showers, got upgraded to a really nice room… complete with two broken tvs, a shower that only ran cold water and then woke up to NO WATER AT ALL to shower or wash my hands AFTER I used the bathroom. That was wonderful. Apparently they refunded one night but has yet too be reflected on my credit card. Shame on this place.

The staff is quite nice but the establishment itself is awful. In fact, if a word could describe an establishment as worse than awful, I’d use that instead.
I arrived late on a Friday night and checked-​in pretty quickly, which I admit I was a bit apprehensive about considering some of the other reviews. The desk staff, every time I interacted with them, was friendly. They made a mistake charging my personal card, versus my company’s card on file, for the deposit; though the fixed that about a week later.
The first thing you’ll notice in this hotel is how arctic it feels throughout the entire establishment. I’m certain the owner is trying to cut back on his heating bill, but really?! The elevator makes some weird noises and movements while going both up and down which, although I’m not super knowledgeable on elevators, seemed like a safety concern. There was a hole in the ceiling of the foyer area outside of my room where water was leaking down. Great recipe for mold. The pillows in the room itself had stains on it and the carpet felt very dirty when walked on; even in socks.
Thankfully the bed was fairly comfortable, and the shower pressure was good – something I’m always quite picky about at hotels. I admit that I’ve traveled a lot in my life, so I may be a bit biased to lower quality hotels, but this place needs some serious work.
Two stars since the hotel’s AGM (assistant GM) reached out to me to apologize for my poor experience, after the fact, and offered to comp me a night on my next stay. Moot point, however, as that will never happen.

I stayed on night at this hotel back in early January 2015. The hotel staff was extremely friendly. I showed up prior to my scheduled time and they had no problem getting me into a room immediately.
The room was a basic single king bed, very basic hotel room. I will say that it is clean, and that I had more towels then I knew what to do with.
They had a bar/​restaurant attached to the hotel and that is where I had dinner. Prices were ok and the bar staff was very friendly. A little small but other then that it was a great experience in the bar.
Check out was just as easy, no complaints at all.

Cons: Not clean, found 2 bugs in the bathroom, beds are cheap and squeaky, carpet is filthy, front desk doesn’t answer the phone, oh and THERE WAS NO WATER FROM 8−11am.
Pros: They let you check out early.
Go somewhere else.

When we checked in the hotel and came to our room and opened the door, we saw that the room was not ready at all. It was like someone has just checked out of that room. After showing them the condition of the room, they offered us another room, which was ready to move in.
No doubt the hotel is situated in good location, but their housekeeping service is pretty bad. For two days in a row, they just came and made the bed and nothing more than that. Everything was left dirty, including the toilet, which got clogged one day. They did unclog it, but didnt bother to clean afterwards. No vacuum, no dusting of the room.
Will try to avoid staying here, in future.

I admit I was really sketched out due to the reviews but honestly It was actually really nice. Now don’t get me wrong… it could use a slight update on the AC/​heater unit and the tv remote drove me a little crazy because I had to press hard on the volume button to get it to work, and the water took a bit to drain from the shower but all in all it was clean, the bed was very comfortable lots of pillows (I wanted to take a pillow that’s how comfy they were) cozy comforter and plushy cushion mattress. Clean water. Clean room. I think the people who were unhappy were really looking over there rooms with a fine tooth comb and obviously weren’t in SD to enjoy their time there and camped out in their room all day. I would definitely stay here again

There’s ample parking since I don’t think anyone is staying there. Unless there is an event, then the parking lot was full that day. But besides that, there is plenty of parking.
The rooms were okay. And seems like there are not that many people there. But… I found a COCKROACH! Gross! That’s when I feel how this place can be not sanitized at all. It has to be THAT bad to even have that crawling in the bathroom. The bathtub also has a huge drainage issue.
All in all, I should have checked the Unilocaling ratings because it does matter!

This property is on its last leg. The carpet is aged and stained, the wallpaper is coming off, the wallpaper looks as if it was installed by a 3 year old, the fountain on the patio is severely broken and is a hazard to children, the beds are as hard as concrete, the list goes on. Sheraton should be embarrassed. We should have listened to the Unilocal posts.

Negative… Landed in san diego and called the hotel for the complimentary shuttle. After not answering 4 calls and 1 was actually answered then spent 6 minutes on hold we finally got an actual employee to answer and told us we’d have to wait for the shuttle. An hour later, still no shuttle. Another call, another half hour, finally a shuttle with a driver who clearly doesnt enjoy his job. Out of the way, not in walking distance to anything, a large, plain, quiet, extremely outdated hotel. One restaurant that shuts down from 2 – 5 and no other food places around, no shopping, no sight seeing so renting a car or über type transportation is a MUST! Not where ya wanna be, i guarantee

Nicely refurbished suburban hotel by Montgomery Field airport. Good location for business people and for those that want FREE parking… a rarity among San Diego hotels. Only minor complaint is that room doors are not well sealed at the bottom, so you can hear noisy guests in the hall.
I’d stay here again.

My only complaint… Not having fitted sheets on the bed. Bring your own if you prefer not to wake up on a bare mattress.
Also no first aid kit at the front desk, seems like that should be a necessity.

Everything was wrong since the moment I walked into the Hotel:
1) There was no distinguishing between preferred guest members or Gold and up members
2) Check-​in was severely delayed
3) Room issued was dirty: mud stain on side of sheet and sex stain on top of the sheets. I still have the pictures. Problem was reported and I took it as an honest error.
4) Plumbing was terrible, in the middle of night I can hear sounds coming from the sink. Out of being a Samaritan, I let the hotel know that the toilet was leaking water during a California drought.
5) Breakfast was horrendous, but the food was delicious. Service was slow, the waitress had to keep going back and forth to front desk to check who had complimentary breakfast.
6) Invasion of privacy, followed with illegal wrongful entry. I came back to my room with two staff members and one staff member with a notepad in her hand, inventorying my items. Miscommunication was the excuse, but they did not bother calling my cell phone. Dishonest, claiming that my cell phone was not on file. SPG verified that my cell phone was on the reservation. Complaint filed, GM notified.

I really would’ve liked to give more stars for this hotel. This review is for the event spaces only. I came here for the Summer Breeze concert with Keith Sweat, Al B. Sure, and Color Me Bad. Yea… bring on the slow jams! I was really looking forward to Keith Sweat of course! Swoon!
At first I liked that this event was not being held at a popular venue like downtown or some other congested area, so great! Although, I did think that it was a bit odd it was being held here. This hotel is not equipped to handle a large event (Summer Breeze wasn’t even an insanely large crowd!) and to be able to service hotel guests at the same time. I arrived late to the concert, no biggie… but I didn’t expect not being to park at the hotel… or anywhere close to it. They weren’t even able to offer valet! WTH?!? Seriously?!? You’re a hotel… you specialize in events like this right?!? Not only did they not have any parking for guests attending the event, they barely had any parking for their guests staying at the hotel. To top that off, you get horrible rude service from the hotel staff directing traffic away from the hotel. Their words specifically… «You can’t park here. It’s not our problem you can’t park here, tell the event hosts!» Wow… You really suck! We ended up parking blocks away… took about 20 min to walk back to the car after the show.
The show was held in their lawn/​garden/​golf area, which was nice because you were able to bring lawn chairs and blankets. There was a decently clear view to the stage from the back of the lawn, the only down side to that was it was also the smoking area (cigarettes, weed, etc.), so that part sucked. The sprinklers also went off in a certain area completely hosing concert goers. The after party was held in the pavilion. It’s a nice large banquet room with a dance floor, but it was eerily reminiscent of middle school, where the room was lined with chairs and the girls sitting on one side and the boys on the opposite side… Weird.
I can’t completely blame the Sheraton for how the event was planned and setup. The event hosts should’ve known to find a better space. The venue was nice, but the parking for the hotel ridiculous! I enjoyed the concert and that was about it.

My grandmother and I stayed here and had a great experience. She was initially booked into a room on the third floor, requested a room on the bottom floor to save time/​walking, and they promptly assisted her.
My grandma’s only complaint was that they did not have a bell boy to help take her bags to the room. I’m aware that this is harder to come by, but she was concerned by the lack of help. I joined her about two hours after she arrived.
The room was extremely clean and the beds and pillows were very comfortable. The bed linens smelled strongly of bleach, but it’s better than other people’s skin! The shower was clean as well, and while they did have an assistance bar to help with getting in/​out, standing up/​sitting down, it was not conveniently enough positioned and she found herself stuck a few times.
They had a pool, and our room has a pool view. It was quiet and not disruptive at all.
Price was about $ 175 for one night in a 2-​twin bed room. Extremely steep.

I do NOT recommend this place at all! My sons soccer team had a stay and play here and we had to stay here, disgusting, dirty linens, stuff on walls, not clean at all, moldy ice machine, employees even seemed from the twilight zone, Not great décor, not a comfy feeling, the towels were all old and different shades of white, they really need to update their décor in the rooms and clean the place

Nothing much to complain about but not all that much to brag about. The best attributes are the friendly, helpful employees and the free parking. I believe I’ve stayed here four times over the past two years. The front desk personnel have always been really nice even though I don’t have elite status with Sheraton. I’ve printed (to the front desk printer) several pages from their business center but my attempts to pay the posted prices were waved off each time.
On the down side, there are only two elevators for the whole property so it is common to have to wait for one whether going up or down. I kind of solved this problem by asking for first-​floor rooms. Also, the ice machines are often out. The first floor machine has never had ice and the second floor one was out on two of my visits.
My rooms were all clean and the beds were comfortable. The television signal isn’t the greatest and the wifi is pretty good except for some evenings. Overall it’s a decent place to stay when you won’t be spending lots of time at the hotel and just need a clean place to sleep.
