Gelato Bus Stop

Came here for dessert after dinner on a saturday night.
They have maybe about six flavors available.
Some sweet, some fruity, and some basic.
We both purchased a medium sized cup for $ 4.50 each.
I got the salted caramel and the nutella gelato.
Both were tasty and tasted like what it should be. And wasn’t too sweet.
I love that they offer free toppings!
You can choose between coconut shavings, rainbow sprinkles, chocolate sprinkles and oreos.
And of course I chose the coconut shavings and oreos!
Overall, the service was friendly and it was a nice simple treat.
I also like that they offer gelato in waffle cones and pastries!
You can either stuff gelato between cookies or a baked good.
And they also offer crepes and smoothies.

In the realm of ice cream this is the most majestic ruler in all of the land. The chocolate is so good it is worth it that I stained my pants. The sweet cream is like milk but 1200x better. If you rub the bald mans head he will give you 10% off. Super nice dude!

Their gelato is amazing! There wasn’t a huge variety of flavors when I went, but the man working (possibly the owner?) let me and my friends try a bunch of flavors and was extremely nice and patient! He recommended the gelato panini to us, and although I loved the gelato part, I didn’t like the sweet bun that went along with the panini! I’ll definitely come back again for the gelato by itself but I’ll pass on the gelato panini!

The owner here is very kind. I come here quite often, so he’s gotten to know me. I highly recommend their Italia crêpe: mozarella, prosciutto, tomatoes, mushrooms, baby spinach, basil, black pepper, and olives. Great selection of gelato and crepes. They also serve acai bowls, smoothies, coffee, and even gelato stuffed paninis.
One time, we ordered crepes that had spinach but they ran out. We didnt mind at all. The owner ran out to grab some. He got back while we were already eating but he came by with a tupperware of spinach for us. He’s a real sweerheart. Make sure you all tip him when you visit. Service counts!

This is only for the Gelato. We tried a few flavors as is the normal practice at most Gelato Shops. I ended up choosing the one with the assortment of nuts and got the small. I’m usually very messy with my gelato but the first thing that struck me was the consistency of this gelato. It was almost gummy in it’s texture. Thick, dense and didn’t melt as quickly as others I’ve had. Perfect for a summer day (or a winter day in San Diego). Worth the good review right there.

Delicious crepes, savory and sweet. Very friendly service. Reggie is the best server. He’s always attentive and friendly. Love this place!

I love this place. The Gelato is always good and tasty, but more often than not I come here for an «Acai Bowl». I put it in quotes because it’s a little different than some acai bowls you will find around PB, but it’s always good.
The only downside to it is the long wait, since they take the time to cut all the fruit up my hand and blend it up fresh. I always get mine with peanut butter since it adds good flavor and helps to thicken up the blend.
I’ve been coming here for about a year and was pleased to see they remodeled a bit and added a couch to sit on out on the patio.
I’ve always had great service her. Reggie, who I think is the owner, is always there and greets me with a big smile and a hearty welcome. (He’s the guy that looks like Anderson Silva, lol)
So keep up the good work guys and I’ll keep coming back!

Great welcome as I came in the door by an enthusiastic employee. The gelato itself was outstanding. I had about 4 samples, then chose the Daly/​Pistachio ⁵⁰⁄₅₀. Very flavorful and thick. The ambiance could be improved. Part of the issue is the bus stop directly out-​front tends to attract homeless and lingerers. The temperature inside the shop felt about 15 degrees warmer than outside… and it was a hot day. Service was top notch.

Decided to give this place a try after walking to Baked Bear and seeing that the line was wrapped around the building.
Based on the suggestion of the very sweet girl working the cash register, we ordered the sweet gelato panini (bun filled with chocolate gelato) and a nutella crêpe with strawberries, bananas, and topped with espresso gelato.
The sweet gelato panini was very disappointing. The «panini» was a little stale and was equivalent to the bread of a hamburger bun. Very poor choice of bread to pair with gelato icecream. If anything, the bread should be thicker and doughier in order to soak up any melting icecream without crumbling like a slice of white bread. The chocolate gelato was decent, but nothing special.
The nutella crêpe was a little better than the panini, but was also nothing to write home about. While I did see the waitress make the crêpe fresh right in front of my eyes, I was surprised to find that when we bit into it, it was almost a little soggy like it had been sitting out for awhile. Strange, but still ok when combined with the nutella, banana and strawberry. The espresso gelato was a bad combination as the gelato tasted a little bitter. Definitely would not order that flavor again, with or without a crêpe.
All in all, good service, but would not return.

This little gelato spot is in a prime location in PB. It is really cute inside AND it has crepes, yes please! They have really good gelato flavors and aren’t too pricey. I wanted to get a crêpe too but decided not too. Next time I am in the area I definitely am getting one because they looked so freaking good!

inside the shop it was super hot. it was hotter inside the store than outside in the sun. which is ironic because it is a gelato shop. i expected more variety in flavors here but i did enjoy the flavors i chose. i did think the texture wasn’t as creamy as i hoped. it was a little too icy for my liking. i think it was a decent gelato shop.

Wanting to try somewhere other than our normal ice cream stop in PB, we headed over to Gelato Bus Stop. We visited on a Sunday evening. We were the only customers when we walked in. The man behind the counter was really nice and offered up samples right away. I tried the popcorn gelato, which was truly a weird experience. It was sweet and salty and totally tasted like popcorn! I was too weirded out by the idea of popcorn flavored gelato to get more than just a taste, but definitely try it if it’s the case!
I ended up getting a small cup with chocolate gelato and salted caramel gelato. Both were very good. The portion, on the other hand, was way too big for me. Honestly, it was twice the size of the small cup. I had to give half of it to my son to finish. My son enjoyed his sugar cone with lemon crunch gelato (I think that was the name?) And my husband got a medium cup (can’t remember what flavor) which he enjoyed too. We didn’t go for anything crazy like the gelato panini or the crepes. Maybe next time.
All in all, our experience wasn’t bad. We enjoyed our frozen treats. The service we received was top notch, so I have no complaints there. Like I said though, we were the only ones in the shop the entire time we were there, so I’m not sure how different our experience would have been with more people waiting.

Got an acai bowl here, being an acai LOVER. But I just had one problem — there was not enough fruit in the bowl! Usually acai bowls come with a great amount of grains, nuts, and/​or fruits but this one skipped out.
My recommendation for this place: please more fruit :)
Service and atmosphere is fine!

I have visited twice and experienced the same highs and lows on both visits.
The good:
–The Black Arrows latte was delicious. Not bitter, creamy tasting, yum. Def didn’t need to add sugar because it was delicious on its own.
–The pistachio gelato, strawberry yogurt gelato, and another chocolate-​y flavor were great. The Columbus (or Colombo?) was not a favorite.
–The guys working there were super nice, friendly, and cared about their work!
The not-​so-​great:
–The second time we went, there weren’t many flavors of gelato left.
–There were serious issues with the length of time it took to get served, because there was only one person working. This happened both times we visited. The guy worked as fast and hard as he could, but it’s just not possible for one person to make lattes and scoop gelato and make smoothies quickly enough to serve a line of people. We saw a group of 5 people walk out because it was taking so long.
–The berry smoothie was not good.
Overall, I would visit if the line was short and there was more than one person working. The coffee was delicious and some of the gelato flavors were, too.

Anyone who knows me, knows I’ve got a life long love affair with gelato. It all started the first time my Nonna fed me this creamy treat as toddler. I’ve been hooked ever since.
In an effort to make Nonna proud I introduced my son to gelato at a young age. He’s tried it in many cities, on both coasts. Today he fell in love. It’s no secret that he’s a fan of Nutella. When he walked up to the front of the store and gazed upon all of those beautiful Nutella containers stacked up, lining the front window, his eyes just lit up like a Christmas tree! I’m surprised he didn’t break out into a jig. He double-​timed it into the store and started drooling over the flavor selections. It’s moments like these that I know he was definitely not switched at birth.
We were greeted warmly by a nice guy who helped us and offered to let us sample flavors. Uh, sure, who am I to turn down an offer like that? He suggested his favorite, the Daly. It’s yogurt with strawberry swirled into it. Can I just say, wow! This was so creamy and delicious. The strawberry flavor was perfect, not too sweet and just the right amount of tart. I ended up getting that along with the lemon which was also great, very tart and a nice texture.
My son takes longer to decide than me, but the guy helping us was very patient. When he was skeptical that there would be enough of the OMG gelato left for him, he picked up the tray and tilted it forward to show him there was. What a good sport. He ended up getting that along with the chocolate and peanut butter after he was told that three flavors would fit in one cup, haha. It’s like he knew my son wants to try everything possible. After gobbling down his gelato (a first) he declared it «awesome!» and pointed to his empty cup and said «those flavors are my new usual.» He also declared that this is his new gelato spot.
This is a nice little shop. There’s a small amount of seating, bar stools and table seating. They sell smoothies and coffee drinks along with the crepes and gelato offerings. They also have acai bowls, it sounded good but after indulging in a medium gelato I was really too full for anything else, maybe next time.

We were helped quickly and were allowed to sample some flavors before buying.
I tried sweet cream with chocolate chips, chocolate, and and Nutella with Nutella swirl.
We were allowed to pick up to 3 flavors for whatever size bowl we purchased. I settled on sweet cream and chocolate. It was delicious and hit the sweet spot.
Music vibe is a mix of late 90s-​now. It was pleasant.
Crave something sweet? Hit this place up. We made it out with a large and medium for 10 dollars and some change. It was worth it to me.

Gelato Bus Stop was the perfect post-​dinner spot to grab some gelato with a cousin of mine.
I ordered a small and got the Chocolate Hazelnut gelato and the Salted Carmel gelato. The servings were pretty generous for a small (compared to some other gelato places I’ve been to.)
I would imagine the service/​crowd could be hit or miss, depending on the time/​day.

Outside, they have a sign saying «drink better coffee».
Before trying to find a spot to eat breakfast at… I needed a cup. It was warm this morning… and honestly, nothing sounded better to me than an iced mocha.
Their coffee menu is pretty minimal. Nothing special, really at all… A plain iced coffee will cost you $ 3.75.
While they do have almond milk, soy milk, whole milk, they don’t have any half and half or creamer. You can add some of their «homemade» syrup to your coffee, which would add some «sweetness» I was told (it didnt, I still had to put sugar in).
The coffee was really bitter. Honestly, I’ve had better iced coffee from Jack in the box and McDonald’s. Pretty disappointing.

I stopped in here with a fellow Unilocaler Elite, A.K.A Ali L. the Kitty, for some gelato. She had the Stracciatella and Espresso I believe with a thin house made waffer, and I had mine with only Stracciatella.
The Stracciatella was very good and they were very generous with their serving, even for a small cup (
). The gelato was very smooth and creamy and had a good amount of chocolate chips morsels, but I could not help Ali’s had more than mine, and being the sweetheart she is, she gave me one of her largest chocolate chips (
). I was happy of course and it was quite treat. Ali’s looked great as well, and although being a much slower eater than me, she finished it off readily (
).
They also make crepes of the savory and sweet variety, and while we were there, we had the opportunity to watch several being made (
). The running the counter and who served our gelato was quite nice and friendly.
No question I was a fan of this gelato…
