Gift Card Palace

I just left from there less than 30 minutes ago. II have never written, nor had the desire to write reviews about anything. But, the disrespect I was shown was absolutely ridiculous! I had no intention of stopping here, but I saw the street sign and decided to go in and check it out. Despite being in the back of mini market/​liquor store, the place looked really nice and clean. I started talking to a gentleman (who’s name I wish I knew…) and told him that I had a Macy’s gift card. I handed it to him and he asked all of the typical questions: value, receipt, when it was purchased, etc. I told him that it was for $ 50 and that I didn’t have a receipt because it was a Christmas gift. I also mentioned that he could call the number on the back to verify. He then asked for my ID and when he flipped the gift card over, that’s when he noticed that I had already scratched off the silver leaf; exposing the card number. He said because of that he couldn’t accept it. I apologized and told him that I wasn’t aware of that that’d be an issue, but told him I understood (hell I’ve never sold a gift card before lololol). He then turned around and said he normally buys $ 50 gift cards for $ 30 (which funny enough is what I was looking to get for it) but that he’d give me $ 25. I LITERALLY took 7 SECONDS to think about it before he says «Don’t bother thinking. Nobody’s going to buy it from you). I jokingly replied «I’ve actually had people offer $ 40…» Then!!! He responded «Well take it to them then» AND THREW MY GODDAMN GIFTCARD AND ID BACK AT ME! Sir who the hell do you think you are? Let me preface the next few sentences with, if I offended you by my $ 40 comment, I DO apologize. HOWEVER YOUR RESPONSE WAS UNPROFESSIONAL, CHILDISH AND DOWN RIGHT… FUCKED UP! IF THAT’S HOW YOU INTEND TO CONDUCT BUISNESS, THEN MY HEART GOES OUT TO ANYBODY THAT SETS FOOT INTO YOUR PLACE OF BUSINESS AFTER I ME! I WILL ALSO BE FILING A COMPLAINT WITH THE BBB. Some might say that this is extreme, but when I say nothing in my actions warranted this kind of behavior, I’m being oh so truthful (AND SIR I WISH YOU WOULD TRY TO SAY THAT MY DEMEANOR REFLECTED ANYTHING OTHER THAN THAT OF WHAT I’VE WRIITTEN HERE TODAY. I KNOW YOU HAVE SECURITY CAMERAS THAT PROBABLY CAPTURED THE ENTIRE EXCHANGE AND THERE WERE TWO PEOPLE OUTSIDE THAT TOLD ME THEY SAW THEY TAILEND OF THINGS)

Their website falsely advertised their service. They do not buy cards on the spot or give the best value. The most they pay is 60% but usually it’s closer to 50%. Online buyers give 70−75% and even the coin star machine gives 70% if you need cash on the spot. The gift card palace however gives bad excuses that they call policy but aren’t listed or posted anywhere to offer much less than advertised on their website. They also said they wouldn’t take cards from 2 retailers listed on the website.
Gift Card Palace actual buying procedures:
–Will not buy all cards listed on website
–Require receipts with cards
–Offer less if pin is visible even though pin is required to check balance
–If pin is visible they will offer 60% paid in installments of 30%at time of sale and 30%at a later date. Now this is where real sellers need to be extra careful, if they never pay you the only way you can go after them is through civil action which costs more than they will owe you to file.
— lower balance cards and store credit cards are only bought for 50%
Overall experience: Gift card palace is an extremely shady gift card buyer. I do not recommend selling here if you have legitimate cards that you just don’t plan on using. This place is specifically for thieves and scammers, they even offer a deal for their top thieves who sell more than $ 500 in cards weekly. The buyer is involved in some kind of shady practice as well. They’re happy to quickly exchange a card for cash when it’s one of their regular con artists but will give excuse after excuse if you’re selling legitimate cards.

This place is pretty good. They buy your gift cards for a good price. Would definitely recommend.

A little hard to find but worth it. These guys were so pleasant to deal with! The process was fast and straight forward.
