Do you really call this a Resturant. This is a piece of garbage. Smell bad, food is disgusting, service sucks. Waiters chilling outside of the Resturant smoking and fighting each other.

I went ther 2 weeks ago and it was the first time for me there, I found the cashier when i got there i asked her about what ķind of dishes are they have she gave me the menu than i choosed maesub & aarika and milk tea when i wanted to pay by credit she turned the screen to me to choos if i want to pay tips actually i didn’t realized it! that i need to pay tips before i get the services!!! Even she didn’t told me to have a site! and asking for tips ! all of that was fine . But the worst than all of that i waited for 50 minuts to get my order, also i found a mosquito in my cup of milk directly i called them BUT there is no body so why did i paid the tips?, finally when she heard my voice and came to me i said look what did i found ! she said for sure it’s just fell in even she didn’t said sorry or some thing/the food wasn’t bad /i just want to say that is not the right way to make tips and even that i paid tips at the begining i didn’t get any services or care.

This place is not known for having the best customer service. I don’t expect it, so it doesn’t really concern me. I too was a little confused about how to order(at the counter or at the table) FYI: at the counter. I also asked for something that wasn’t on the menu, so that was a little frustrating. But overall, the staff was still nice. HINT: Use a little Arabic! Shookran means thank you. Try it! Anyway, what does concern me is the quality of the food. And the biryani here is very good, and comes in very large portions! I think I had it for dinner, and then the next day for lunch AND dinner, lol. There was a little snafu recently though. We drove out there on a saturday morning when the restaurant was supposed to be open– and it was NOT. Hint: Call before you go! We’ll be back though, Hadramout!

I have no problem updating this review next time I try this place, but this attempt was an epic fail. I live around the corner and have wanted to try them since they opened, so we finally tried it. The décor was very sparse and the place was empty other than two men sitting at a table. We asked the woman behind the counter if we should sit down or order first and she snapped«order first.» My friend then asked her what the difference between Arabic coffee and Turkish coffee was and was stared at with a blank look: «They’re different.» When he asked again what the difference was, she responded«they’re very different» with the epitome of the resting bitch face™. Moving right along, I ordered the chicken kebab. «We don’t have chicken kebab. We only have…» And she listed two other chicken entrees. I asked her if they had any other kebabs. «No.» Let me reiterate this: they did not have any other kebabs. They had chicken, but could not muster skewing a stick through it and slap it on a grill. At this point, I was done. I said thank you and we left with the distinct impression they truly did not want our business. I’ll give it one more chance and will update this review then.

I can’t believe Unilocal still has the wrong address! Come on guys! They’re at 5841 El Cajon. Service was great and food amazing. Lentil soup was awesome, chicken & basmati also amazing, sambusa better than most. I also really like the Masaoub(?), which was on the breakfast menu but they were able to serve it for dinner. It’s a wheat pie with banana, cream, and honey. It has the texture sort of like oatmeal, but is almost sweet enough for a dessert. I can’t wait to be back.

It was an ok experience! The food wasn’t that good! I mean I came here as a visitor and live in a city that has 3 Yemeni restaurant, so, I may be kinda picky. We Ordered Mutabaq Maleh and it was not good at all! We also ordered Masoub and it was ok but it wasn’t freshly prepared! It looked like the ground bread was already made and got refrigerated and then they added cream and honey on it. The owner is a nice guy and he told us the cook wasn’t here today so he was taken over. Overall 5⁄10 experience.

First note: reataurant address is 5841 El Cajon Blvd. NOT581 El Cajon which is in El Cajon. Poor owner has been trying to change for months with no help from Unilocal.:/ My favorite type of restaurant… Doesn’t look like much from the outside but when we walked through the door we were greeted warmly by the owner. Had no idea what Yemenese food was like, but what a treat. The meal started with complimentary & delicious lentil soup, perfect for a chilly night. From there we had piping hot sweeten chai, deliciously seasoned somosas, motobaq(mini omelette –not on the menu!), masoub, a sweet dish made with banana, cream & honey — mid-meal dessert! — next came chicken Kabsa, half a chicken falling off the bone and served with birani rice. Finally, saltah, the national dish of Yemen(you’ll find it on the breakfast menu), made with lamb, eggs, potatoes & vegetables; the dish came to our table in a scalding hot clay pot — had the owner take off the lid. Out of this world — perfect combo of flavors & textures. Unexpected treat was the complimentary, bread, yogurt dip, as well as the lentil soup. So much food! Worth going into food coma! Exotic, delicious and inexpensive. Delightful to meet the family who runs the restaurant. We should all be visiting places like Hadramout instead of boring chains. Can’t wait to go back and try some of the items they had run out of(everything made to order). Don’t miss this gem! Don’t know where else you’ll try Yemenese food!

One of the cleanest middle eastern resturants in San Diego. I can’t believe what those jerks said about them. They’re very clean, comfortable and welcoming. and the food is incredible. This place is a must when it comes to authentic Golf food. They get they’re lamb from local sources and you can definitely taste the difference.

I had one of worst experience in a middle eastern restaurant. I would never go back to here. The service was bad and the manager was very disrespectful and refused to hear us out nor take our complaints seriously. I love middle eastern food but this just left us out with unpleasant experience.

I was hungry and me and a friend stooped by after I seen this restaurant since the name looked like as if they were serving a middle astern food. It was packed for Ramadan buffet special and the restaurant just opened. The line was outside the door. The place was clean aand all, but the food was not as I expected. I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt and try again the regular menue, since they may have just just opened and was overwhelmed with too many customers at once
