Hong gives awesome haircuts he takes a lot of pride in his craft and a great service is the result. My hair grows quick so I go twice a month and always great!

The male barber is pretty good in giving military haircuts. I’m really impressed. He’s really awesome dude. Would recommend going and the haircuts are $ 10-​$ 12. Better than going to the NEX Haircuts — Hands down.

All I can say is this is one of the best deals left in expensive San Diego!!!. Had the privilege of getting my haircut by the son of Happy (Huang?) … Who started the barbershop and they now own 4 locations.
I’m very satisfied with my haircut and more than that you’re supporting the American dream. A family that came here with nothing and now with hard work is living the American success story.

Yo! This place is dope for a haircut. Not only is it affordable, but it also is very time-​efficient. Havent been there in a while but I remember there are 3 main barbers — 2 guy and 1 woman. All of them are capable barbers.
If you dont know what kind of haircut you want, they have pictures of different hairstyle with a number you can choose from.
Fade is niceee.

Took my 2 year old to get a hair cut HUng did a great job. I picked a cut from the photos on the wall and my son sat on my lap as he cut his hair. No need to waste money at a kiddy place, there was no wait and ¹⁄₃ the cost. His first haircut was at the Happy Barber in Diane. Both experiences were great. I highly recommend taking your little boys here!

Excellent service and haircut by the one guy who works there. I come here regularly to get my hair cut since I find this to be the best out of the other four locations they have. There is usually little to no wait time during the weekdays. highly recommend if you’re looking for a simple fade/​trim.

Been going to número uno for 3+ years but nowadays it’s more crowded than no-​admission-​PB Bar&Grill on Thursday. Spice is the variety of life. Hung the owner is the homey, and just an all-​around good guy. Parking is cool, I guess.

«Hung» is 1 of the best barbers, I trust him because he is a pro with over a decade of experience in customer service as well. I really liked my last barber but he is nowhere nearly as friendly as Hung because grooming my hair is personal. I always give him a good tip because he takes his time with my sideburns, taper, scissors cut, and it’s super clean!

Do not get the woman to cut your hair here. She is absolutely terrible and does not know how to fade at all.
I have been going to the original happy barber forever now and decided to check out the new one. The guy here is okay but NOT THE WOMAN.

My husband and our four boys get their hair cut here and Hung is the greatest. Hung owns all four shops. Everyone in his family that work at the different shops are very nice and polite. They always ask how our family is doing. I found my happy spot and will never take my boys anywhere else.

Happy Barber has four locations now all throughout the Serra Mesa /​Clairemont area. This is their newest location. Happy Barber has been my exclusive barbershop for over five years. I’ve been to their number two store, their number three store, and now I come to this store (store number four). Hung, who is the owner and my go to barber, gets my haircut done right each and every time.
Customer service is excellent, the barbers are friendly and knowledgeable and do not hesitate to strike up a conversation. I’ve been coming here for over five years and each visit is exceptional. They always get my haircut right everytime (high skin fade) which is excellent. The prices are very competitive, you get a very good haircut for the money you spend.
Parking in this area is good, there is always parking along this strip if you come at the right time.
For anyone looking for their go-​to barber, I HIGHLY recommend Hung and Happy Barber. They are simply the best that I’ve been to. If you are ever in the area of any of the Happy Barber’s and need a haircut, stop on in and give them a try. They might just be your new go to place for your haircut.

I’ve never been so excited to come back to an establishment or felt so compelled to write a review (this is my first) but this guy deserves it. I’m a UCSD student and $ 20 haircuts are not an option so I was pretty stoked to find this gem.
Personality-​wise, Hung is by far the nicest and most genuine barber I’ve had the pleasure to meet. Not the typical $ 10 ones that are always talking on their bluetooth etc. We carried on a conversation that I actually enjoyed.
Skill-​wise, he definitely exceeded my expectations. He was very meticulous and didn’t skimp on any details despite being priced so far below every other place around here. Despite my inability to articulate what I wanted, he nailed it.
Will be coming back when I need another fresh cut !

My son needed a haircut bad. His regular barber wasn’t available. Soooo he decided to try an «new guy». Wrong answer. Won’t do that EVER again. I never seen a kid so upset. I took him to Hung and I let my son tell what happened moments ago. He not only fixed my sons hair he did it for free! Thank you Hung! We will definitely be back!

New barbershop but my barber Hung Moved here from the Serra Mesa location. He is the best! Been cutting my hair for 7 years and can do anything from a faux hawk to a combover with fade. Always makes sure that his customers leave satisfy with their haircuts. Highly recommend!

Fast, professional and best customer service!
I’m new in town and been looking for a good and cheap barber shop. The owner — Hung was very patient and professional. I’m quite picky about my hairstyle and they did a great job. During and after my haircut, I was asked multiple times to make sure that I was satisfied with the haircut. He also took time to suggest how I should gel my hair. Thank you Hung!
Ditch the $ 25-​barber shop around UCSD. Happy Barber is right off 850 on Clairemont Mesa (10 mins from UCSD) and only $ 10.

Decided to try this place on a whim. I’ve got pretty difficult hair to deal with, but Hung has been cutting hair for over 2 decades and it shows. He knows how to cut a clean fade and blend different lengths. Hung only charges $ 10, but I’d have made this my goto place at double the price. He’s also open on Sundays when no one else is. Glad I found this place; it’s my go to.
Bonus: He’s pretty good at making sure you don’t walk out the door with hair all over your face and neck and shoulders.

Ok first this is a family owned and operated barbershop. My husband took us to a new barber closer to our house. The owner (I believe is Hung) Hung is the BEST he cuts my husband and our 5 yr old son’s hair. He is very very good with our boy. Our boy hated to get his hair cut. Now our son actually looks forward to it. Hung is very patient and has a gentle touch. Which we truly appreciate. As we all know the line up is one the most important parts of a hair cut. Hung totally understand that. He plays games to engage our boy to keep him still to get a great line up. Our son always leaves here looking SO FLY!
