Such a rad store! Amazing vintage clothes, shoes, and accessories alongside gorgeous handmade jewelry and designs. Great prices and a relaxed atmosphere. There’s always something new and every piece is a one of a kind find. Love this shop!

Easy five-​star review here, this place is the bomb! I came in here looking for a birthday shirt for my friend Pierre, and the owner Zoe helped us find a perfect gift for him! The racks are full of personality, with something for everyone. Great for special gifts and special occasions. I always make a trip to Hunt and Gather when I am down in San Diego, they have more great stuff under one roof than anyplace I’ve found in Los Angeles so far. I hope they can come up to Los Angeles for a pop-​up show or special sale, I don’t get to come to San Diego nearly as often as I would like nowadays and there’s nothing quite like this place. =)

All you have to do is take a look at the stylish window displays to know this place aint no joke. Tons of cool, one-​of-​a kind threads to choose from and much more! Totally awesome.

The selection was good but the prices are too high knowing that were probably bought at ¹⁄₃ of the price at goodwill or salvation army. You’re really paying for their hunting time.

The sale rack outside the store is nicely priced, enough to lure you jnto the store. I didn’t really find anything that suits my style, or fits me, but I will give it another chance once the inventory has turned over. My mom did find a skirt, although I thought the style was a little too gypsy for my taste. Nevertheless, the lady running the store was really nice and accommodating, and gave my mom a better discount instead of the Unilocal check-​in discount.
The jewelry collection is just ok in my opinion, nothing too interesting. But again, it just depends on your taste. It has more of an earthy, hippie style. Merchandise is a bit pricey too, but you can probably negotiate with the owner if you really want an item.

Popped in here while wandering around the North Park Festival of Arts. Super cute stuff at amazing prices. I mean, super legit pricing, people. I generally stay away from boutique thrift stores because they charge way too much for stuff I could find for myself at Goodwill if I simply took the time, but the pricing at Hunt & Gather was right on point for quality used items. I was drooling over the sunglasses (only $ 15!) and an adorable eyeball bracelet (only $ 22!), but alas left empty-​handed because I couldn’t justify either purchase and I’m trying to be more responsible with my money and blah blah blah blah.
But the moral of the story is, this shop is great. Adorable clothes, shoes, and accessories, great prices, and friendly service. I will definitely be back!

I love this store. I find the most amazing pieces. It is clear that the owners and staff carefully select their merchandise. Zoe, Lee and Heather are all amazing and so helpful. I’m addicted. Amazing clothing and accessories!

A great place to pick something up that wont break the bank, the lines were rally long for check out but I was surprised they actually moved along at a good pace.

I’m a huge fan of vintage and fully understand why a store like Hunt and Gather charges the prices they do. To all the people who complain about how a $ 40 dress or $ 20 shirt is expensive, please remember the work that has gone into finding that one of a kind piece to their store. They spent time, energy, gas money, and whatever else looking for special, one of a kind pieces for their stores. I don’t mind spending $ 68 on an amazingly unique dress or jacket at this store, because a.) i won’t find this dress anywhere else b.) at $ 68 it’s still a helluva lot cheaper than most dresses at places like Zara or Anthropologie, where the clothing is mass produced.
Hunt and Gather is one of my favorite vintage shops in SD, always a fun selection and Heather, one of the girls that works there, has always been accommodating. If you’re into one of a kind unique pieces, shop here. If you’re into Forever 21 or other mass produced environmentally harmful places like H&M, (where yes, you can get a dress for $ 29.99 but everyone else owns that dress and it’ll fall apart in 2 weeks), this is not the place for you.

I think the selection here is okay, but the pricing is kinda steep. However, note that I don’t really shop for used, retro clothes (which is what they mostly carry). There’s a couple of good deals; I got a ribbed tank for only $ 5.99 (with their logo on it), but I can probably find the same kind of tank at Wet Seal for $ 2 – 3. There are some handmade clothes and accessories, but those are pretty expensive as well.
Customer service is decent, although I think they’re used to getting a bunch of looky-​loos who don’t buy anything (myself included).
If you’re into thrift shopping and retro clothes (think 60s/70s/80s)…then try this place out. For myself, I’d rather get knockoff/​retro-​inspired clothes that are brand new.

This shop is super cool! They have some fabulous finds and some awesome locally made jewelry. Whenever I wear something from this shop, I always receive compliments on it. The staff here rocks, and is always willing to assist you. Also, I think the ambiance of this shop totally emanates a North Park vibe!

I thought this place was over priced with not especially compelling stock. The local jewelry was really beautiful though, and I would consider going back for that.

It was ok, not the craziest of selections but the woman was very nice. I was expecting a more authentic thrifting experience, it was more of a shop. There’s some cool unicorn paintings on the wall behind the cash, but they aren’t for sale *sniff* :(

I came here on the search for an ugly Christmas sweater. GOOD NEWS! I found one. BAD NEWS, it was like $ 30 bucks.
The stuff here is actually super cool. I say «actually» because I was expecting a kind of janky thrift store like you find in PB, but I can always trust North Park for those cool, trendy, pricey thrift stores. Ahem, consignment boutiques.
I would totally come here when I am looking for some new «regular» (non ugly sweater) clothes! They are super unique AND good for the environment as you are reducing, reusing, recycling.
This type of place gives me the feeling that I would find clothes I LOVE, and while it may be a little expensive considering it is used clothing, the crazy cool style of the whole thing as well as the anticipation of how «damn girl» good you’re gonna look makes it well worth it.

Some of the coolest jewelry I’ve ever bought in San Diego came from Hunt and Gather… as well as some of the most awesome caftans. If you’re rocking a boho chic look (or want to), you need to go to Hunt and Gather. And, most of the jewelry is made by local artists, so you’re supporting your community while looking amazing. Good prices for truly one-​of-​a-​kind pieces and there’s always something new to discover… whether you’re looking for vintage or for that one accessory that transforms an otherwise blah outfit into a solid look.
A must for anyone who has her or his own sense of style and fearless choices in accessories!

I came here with my boyfriend a few months back, that was the first and last time for me.
It caught my eye driving down University with my bf, they had a bunch of bins and racks of clothes in front of the store– so I gave it a chance. Everything is way overpriced. After the first ten minutes of being there I quickly got bored. I began looking at the price tags as a source of laughter while my bf looked at the records. Nothing too special here– I could find the same things at any thrift store– for way less. The price tags included words on them like «Vintage» and «Designer” — I feel like this was done as a way to jack up the prices and get away with it and fool the customers.
This is rich hipster heaven with a shitty record collection. Seriously don’t waste your time here. If you’re a true thrift store enthusiast then you wouldn’t mind digging for your «vintage» finds elsewhere instead of someone placing them in front of you and multiplying the price by 10.
Run far away.

I hate shopping unless it’s a store like this. Every rack has a possibility of finding «the shirt.» You know… that feel good, go-​to shirt when times are tough and you’re feeling down.
Hunt & Gather is a small store that makes it pretty easy to find it with a ratio of about 4 cool threads to 1 eye sore. They may jack up the price a little as compared to some thrift stores, but you won’t spend hours searching and it doesn’t smell like your grandmothers attic.
Also they have lots of vinyl so if you dig the smooth sounds of an old record it’s definitely worth popping in for a little look see.

Well, I’m gonna have to give in and hook these guys up with another glorious 5-​star review.
I’ve actually been sitting on this review for a bit. Been waiting to jot it down until I’ve had a few chances to swoop in and check it out, as boutiques can be as unpredictable as an adolescent female with daddy issues.
The previous boutique that called these walls home was Neighbourhood, and while I liked their selection, everything was SO expensive. I mean, I love supporting local, independent retailers… but why on earth would I spend $ 80 on a suit vest (like the ones all the cool kids wear these days), when I can rip into any thrift store within spitting distance and get the same thing for $ 5? I don’t care who the designer is… I just don’t have that kind of scratch lying around. If I have a good month with a surplus, sure. But these days, I don’t know anyone who could afford that kind of lifestyle.
Obviously it sucks to see a business go under, but with the demise of Neighbourhood comes a new venture: Hunt & Gather. Right off the bat, I knew this place was going to kick ass. Super friendly staff (not sure if it’s a married couple that runs the place, but it’s been the same two folks in there every time I’ve stepped in), great selection (clothing, jewelery, bags, glasses and more)… and best of all, reasonable prices! Halle-friggin’-lujah!
I picked up a wacky shirt from a local designer for $ 10, some nifty shades for $ 8, and a murse for $ 40. No joke, I saw the same man-​purse in another boutique recently, and it was going for $ 75. So that outta tell you something there.
I guess some fuckwad recently threw a rock through the front door and swiped a bunch of clothes from the men’s section, so they might be lacking in that department for a little bit. Seemed like they were getting a nice inventory back together, so I doubt it’ll set them back too much.
If you’re sick of the pretentious nature of other local boutiques, I recommend you poke around Hunt & Gather. If a degenerate like myself can find and afford cool stuff here, I can only imagine you can too.
