I have a Zero Halliburton carry-​on I’ve had for 15 years, a connection came loose on the pull up handle. They guys at Index were able to fix in one day for the very reasonable price of $ 15. The, guys at Fashion Valley Luggage quoted me at $ 300!!! Honesty goes a long way with me and I will never go anywhere else for my luggage needs. These guys are friendly helpful, honest and have one of the best selections of luggage. Plus everything else you may need for your travels. I would give them more stars if I could.

Family owned business with the best service you can imagine. Bought and beautiful Aunts & Uncles bag from them and after a few months I accidentally damaged it and they repaired it at no cost. They also have a great selection from high quality brands, awesome designs and accessories.

They are so helpful at this store! I’ve come in here a couple times for gifts. I love that they do custom luggage tags. They will work with you to personalize something that is just right. They also have a nice selection of luggage and other travel goodies.

I was looking for a Rimowa repair shop… after reading all the reviews decided to give Index Urban a shot and was in no way disappointed. Super friendly! I needed 2 repairs and thought it would take a good 2 weeks, was happily surprised that it only took 2 days!
I ended up spending a bit of time and bought some other items, a great selection of good quality travel accessories. Loving my new luggage tag :-).
Super prices…2 repairs for only $ 25.

Went into Index Urban to have my boyfriends leather Ferragamo wallet embossed with his initials. I was nervous about the possibility of the wallet being ruined, but they did an awesome job! I was ecstatic to find that they could do it in a matter of hours! The gentleman behind the counter was very courteous and helpful, and I even ended up buying some extra stuff! This will definitely be my go to for all of my embossing/​monogramming needs!

This was mine and my husband’s first time in this store and I have to tell you that this store provides the best customer service I have ever received! John gave us options, complimentary stickers and even a great box to put the gift that we bought in. I will definitely be a life long customer at this store! Thank you again Index Urban!

I’ve had my messenger bag repaired two separate times here. The first was to replace a very specific latch that had broken, and while it took a little while for them to find the right part, they fixed it completely and were very helpful and responsive. The second time, the handle broke and when I brought it in they fixed it right there in 5 minutes free of charge. ¹⁰⁄₁₀ would recommend to anyone!

I have ordered over 4 items from this store and referred a buddy which purchased a tumi wallet within the past month.
Had an issue w one Herschel bag (manufacturers issue w strap buckle.). Called and let them know, within the week the gentlemen unstitched, replaced with heavy duty buckle, then restitched. Bag is good to go! What business would do this on the spot??? 5 stars

Brought in a suitcase for repair that should have been covered by manufacturer’s warranty. The manufacturer did not honor it but these folks did it for free anyway. When you walk into this store there is a vibe that these folks like what they do and care about their customers. I love to support businesses like this.

I have been looking for a new carry-​on suitcase, laptop bag, and messenger bag for months and happened to stumble upon urban index. Their Selection is great and there is a price point to fit most needs. John gave me the best customer service and thanked me for supporting local stores. Can’t say enough good things about my experience at this store! They managed to repair my (old) Samsonite luggage, saving me a ton of money, and were exceptionally prompt and professional in their service. They have fantastic travel offerings in their store as well. I’d recommend them to anyone!

Stopped by today looking for a duffle bag to gift. Jordan was really sweet and super helpful. He gave me options and even threw in complimentary gift wrapping and a personalized tag!
The shop is very clean and offers a big selection of travel needs. They offer various brands and extras. A couple walked in right after me who were picking up some luggage that was being fixed for a small fee. The prices are great and the service even better! Glad I didn’t go to a department store.

I cannot stress this enough, «SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL BUSINESS» I am a backpack collector. While in Europe I came across a Swedish staple, the Fjällräven Kanken and the only way to get one was ordering them online. Which i have done, until recently. My sister and I were walking to dinner and in the window of Index Urban sat the Kanken. I was excited… finally a vendor in San Diego who carried the Kanken. The down side, was the shop was closed.
The next day I made it a point to purchase the pack i saw in the window. I sent a message through Unilocal!in hopes of putting the pack on hold. Not only did i get a response in a timely manner, but I had the priviledge of exchanging messages with Jordan. The exchange was professional, inviting and genuine. I wanted the graphite colored Kanken, but was told he only had the Fog in stock (all grays). I said perfect, I’ll take it. That same day I walked into Index Urban and instanlty feel love. Jordan was amazingly nice and helpful. I browsed the store trying to contain my impulsive nature to buy everything.
My heart was set on the Fjällräven Kanken in Fog… but it didn’t stop there. I met his dad (forgive me for forgetting his name). Dad was charming and very happy. As a token of their kindness I received a custom mini monogrammed luggage tag. It went perfectly with my new backpack.
The tag itself will always be a reminder of their pride and commitment to excellent service. I have always seen this little shop while in Hilcrest, but now i have more reasons to return and continue to support local businesses in San Diego.
I highly recommend Index Urban for any of your luggage and backpack needs.

I was in search of customized luggage tags and found them on Etsy. I was in a rush to get them and lucky for me, the Etsy shop owner Jon let me know I could come to his shop to pick them up. I met Jon at the shop on a day he doesn’t normally work. How awesome is it that he would come in just to help me with my customized luggage tags?!
I got to the shop and was able to see all the options available and designed them just the way I wanted them. Jon was so nice and this shop is great! Oh and they have their own parking lot! A major plus in their neighborhood!
