One of the finest dining experiences I’ve ever had. But truth be told, I was very reluctant to give the Cohn family another chance. I had one of the worst experiences of my life at The Prado and vowed never to patronize them again. But my BFF and I had just landed from Cabo and we were starving, so I figured, why not? When we arrived, luggage in tow, the hostess put our luggage away and brought us to our table. She was friendly, engaging and wasn’t rushed at all to seat us. She demonstrated all the finesse and charm of a seasoned Maitre’d. I wish I remembered her name.(We came in on Friday evening, June 3.) We were then seated by the window with a resplendent view of Coronado Bay and the downtown skyline. We shared a Wedge Salad — this now-staple of restaurant salads — is something I like to try when it’s available to see how chefs reinterpret it — was flawless. Crunchy, fresh iceberg lettuce with shallots and balsamic and just the right amount of dressing. My friend had the Filet trio, three 2 – 3 oz(?) portions of perfectly cooked Filet Mignon, drizzled with Alaskan King Crab and blue cheese atop three servings of mashed potatoes.(Though I thought it would be interesting if the varied the starch. Maybe a sweet potato mash?). I had the Macadamia-encrusted Halibut with seabeans, roasted pineapple salsa and a yuzu beurre blanc. While the seabeans did not agree with me — they are VERY salty and, I felt, clashed with the sweetness of the salsa and buerre blance, I still have yet to try a moister Halibut in my life. Kudos to the kitchen! But what truly made the night memorable was Nathan, our server. I worked in hospitality for almost 17 years as a waiter. And I have worked in some of the top restaurants in the Phoenix-Scottsdale area so I know a thing or two about what makes a dining experience outstanding. Nathan embodied all of it. He is an excellent listener, polite, poised, well-groomed and his timing on the food was first-rate. I will only ask for him when I return. Congratulations to the entire team for making Island Prime one of the finest restaurants in this or any other city.

Island Prime is a great restaurant. From arrival to departure, the service was top notch. We were seated immediately with our Open Table reservation at a great window table. We had a 7:15 reservation, and sunset was about ½ hour later. Our server warmly greeted us, and we were never rushed the entire evening. As we sipped on an expertly made martini and manhattan, we were taken in by the beautiful view, and the activity on the water. It was like watching a show. We started with a ½ dozen assorted oysters, which unfortunately were poorly shucked, leaving bits of shell throughout the mangled meat. The server quickly re-delivered some oysters, much better prepared. No harm, no foul. We then casually transitioned to a glass of wine each, and our entrees arrived. We split a large filet mignon and each had a huge crab claw. They were excellent, perfectly cooked and presented. Again with the service, one person brought the butter, the next the side dish, and the next the entrée itself. Very nice presentation. Delicious but way too much food for us. So, overall, this is a great restaurant, with excellent, well trained service, a very good menu, and high end, well prepared food. A strong 4 ½ stars, rounded up. Steve out(mic drop).

Was our favorite place we ate dinner at while we were in town. The mussels and clams are to die for ask for extra bread to get all the good broth at the bottom of the bow. The scallops are very good along with the ribeye. Beautiful views of the harbor. Will return agin and highly recommend it for a up scale dinner.

My wife and I were visiting San Diego and looking for a good steak restaurant. Based on the reviews here we decided to give Island Prime a try. First the location couldn’t be better. Located right on the Bay with views of Coronado Island and Downtown. We called that day and they squeezed us into a early reservation. We got a table right on the bay. The hostess was charming and engaging and made us feel right at home. Enrique was our server and he was outstanding. His knowledge of the area along with the various steak choices was noteworthy. Based on his recommendation my wife went away from her usual choice of an American style rib eye and tried their Wagyu Rib Eye. It was outstanding. I got the Porter House and tried their blackened presentation with some slightly melted blue cheese on top! Outstanding. Meat was cooked to perfection. For sides we had the Wild Mushrooms, Yukon Gold Gratin potatoes with 4 cheeses, and the prosciutto wrapped asparagus. All excellent The staff was attentive and yet relaxed. Great service, great food, great atmosphere, and of course a great view and location. Highly recommend if you get the chance.

«Very Good Food, Wine, Views, & Service« My wife and I met 2 friends of ours at The Island Prime Restaurant on Harbor Island last night, to celebrate an «Employee of the Year Award«with a celebration dinner. We arrived at 5:30 pm and were promptly seated at a window table, which I had requested when I made my reservation. The view was beautiful, as we looked out of the window to see the San Diego skyline, and many boats and yachts sailing all over the water. We also viewed many Military vessels docked across the harbor. Our server Justin G. was Fantastic ! Justin had a great attitude, personality, and was very funny, as he did everything he could to take care of our wants and needs. Also Manager & WIne Expert Mike Scholan came by our table many times over the night, to offer his knowledge about Island Prime’s Menu, and to make sure our dinner experience was the best it could be. Island Prime has 480 wines listed on their state of the art I Pad menu, that you can scroll through and pick out some delicious wines for everywhere around the world. We started the meal with an amuse-bouche of Bacon Wrapped Date with Goat Cheese and a balsamic reduction. We then shared and appetizer of Pepita & Sesame Crusted Brie, with Garlic Purée & Jalapeño Jelly. It was Delicious ! We then enjoyed 3 different varieties of salads which included the BLT Wedge, Pressed Arugula, and Heart Of Romaine. All of the salads were GIGANTIC and so good ! For our main entrees we enjoyed Sesame Crusted Ahi Tuna, and a Prime Bone-In Rib Eye Steak. For dessert we had an Incredibly Huge piece of Mud Pie, which was Soooooo Good ! If you want a Classy, Romantic, Fun, Delicious Dinner with a Great View and 1st class service, then visit the Island Prime Restaurant on Harbor Island, you will not be disappointed.

This restaurant is outstanding! I had a reservation for 7:45 I called and asked them if it was possible to move the reservation up to 6:45 and they totally accommodated me. Even after I moved the reservation we still got seats by the window looking out to the water. It was beautiful! The food was wonderful as well. I got the plank salmon my hubby got the steak and he loved it. Service was top notch, Lee was our server and he was excellent. The manager was around to make sure everything was good too. Great place for a date night! Quick note: tables by the window come first come first serve.

Superb all the way around! Everyone knows about the 5 star view, and if you’re celebrating a special occasion you can ask for the corner table right by the floor-to-ceiling windows and enjoy the gorgeous SD skyline, coronado bridge and the ocean. The food is also beyond reproach. They start you off with a yorkshire pudding-esque bread with some nice slightly-sweet-slightly-salty butter and then all of their main dishes were excellent — the surf and turf(with giant prawns) was cooked perfectly as was their petite filet trio. Package that up with great service and Island Prime is definitely worthy of 5 stars.

This restaurant sits on the end of a peninsular overlooking the sea. Ambience very cozy but you do not need to dress up but do not dress down too I. e no shorts and t shirts. If you are into red meat, they have a wide selection. They even do it exactly the way you requested. The sides on the menu are huge, you be shared. The mid pie too. Service is attentive and timely. Food comes out promptly. No complains. Will surely be back.

The food is mediocre… absolutely overpriced for the quality of food delivered. Price needs to drop $ 10 – 15 per entrée. I had the scallops… the prosciutto tasted slightly burnt. The risotto cakes were bland. The scallops were cooked well but tasted like burnt oil. Others had the filet trio… meat was a bit tough. The Brussel sprouts demi glaze was too sweet. Another guest had the crusted ahi and said it was cooked really well. Restaurant provided a complimentary bread pudding for the birthday girl. It was pretty awful… dense and bland. Another disappointing San Diego restaurant. Our hunt for great cuisine in SD continues…

Glorified TGIFriday’s. –ALLTHE1STARREVIEWSARERIGHT! –MOSTTHEGOODREVIEWSAREGENERICCOMMENTSFROMANONYMOUS UnilocalPROFILES!(always suspicious when a restaurant has these) –DONTGOWITH A PARTYOF6ORMOREBECAUSETHEYWILLTREATYOUWORSETHANANYOFTHEOTHERREVIEWSBECAUSETHEYKNOWTIPISINCLUDED! –It should be clear that they’re not a 5 star restaurant and they don’t have any Michelin stars. They bought white linen table cloths and call it fine dining. –Guess dress code doesn’t matter? There were kids running around in cargo pants and nobody said a thing. The owner should be worried about this place going out of business within 2 years easy. It seems like it was okay in the past, but there’s probably been a high turnover that has an entire generation of staff scrambling and getting worse. This will hold them over a while, but the truth will catch up eventually. Either that or people in San Diego are oblivious to what good food & service is. Our piss poor experience started with making the reservation the day before and we should have known from their incompetence right horn to stay away. It took three separate phone calls to get a table. My sister wanted to eat here for her graduation so we went with it. The prices are outrageous for the quality of the food. We all pretended to somewhat like what we ordered(steak, couple kinds of fish, crab, scallops) just to make the night go by faster. 1. Hosts took half the party to the table and then left my mom standing around wondering what to do or where to go for a minute until finally 1 of the 3 hosts remembered they were at work and had to figure out where they sat the rest of the party. 2. They messed up the mixed drinks so much we just gave up on even trying and got beer because it can’t be messed up. Explaining in detail the first 3 messed up drinks would take too long because the drinks had multiple ingredients. But the bartender finally went 4⁄4 and screwed up a simple whisky drink by putting a lime in it. A few different waiters apologized about this, but each time it was so fake/bogus I almost started laughing at the poor guy because he obviously didn’t care & knows the place he works is in bad shape and it hurt to watch. Then once we all finally got drinks he congratulated my sister for graduating, then tells us about his own sister who just got a degree in psychology and how well she’s doing. WOWREALLY? YOUTHINKWECARE? YOUDIDNTEVENFEIGNINTERESTANDASKHERMAJOR? ISTHISHIMSCHMOOZING? YOUCANTGET F@$#KINGDRINKSRIGHTANDNOWYOUHAVETOTELLUSABOUTSOMEPERSONWERENEVERGONNAMEET? 3. All staff seems like they want to die and hate their job. It’s visible from across the room. I honestly have had better waiters at a Chili’s. I work in the food industry(done FOH /BOH /management) so I know what I’m talking about. 4. THEFOODISBAAAAAAD! I’ve had better seafood from Taco trucks in Los Angeles, hell I’ve had better seafood from places on the boardwalk in Ocean Beach. To be honest we had mouth-watering food at a bar that opened in Mission Beach like 2 weeks ago and ¼ the price and at least triple the quality of flavors /prep /ingredients and THEYRETWOWEEKSOLD! 5. Right when the waiter served my sister(tuna) he put down the plate and said«do you want me to have them cook it more for you? It doesn’t look right.» because apparently RIGHTTHEN he noticed something was wrong? She sent it back just because it was so awkward and easier to say yes. 6. My dish was Seabass with«Pineapple Salsa». Okay. It was a piece of meat with small chunks of pineapple kinda sprinkled on it. Last time I checked«salsa» was something that resembled sauce. I wish I had taken a picture because it literally looked like the line cook shrugged and kinda tossed some pineapple on. 7. Not only was most the other food awful, it wasn’t even plated well. I really wish I had taken pictures because I’m sure the images could have gone viral as a «FAIL meme». 8. They messed up a baked potato. It was half cooked, they didn’t put salt and pepper on it, nor butter or sour cream, and we also had to ask for them to bring those things, but to be fair the chef did sprinkle some chives on it(scoring 1⁄5 ingredients). It was like being at home and trying to make leftovers suck less. After a certain point it felt like they were just choosing to let us have the worst of the worst that night because the tip was already included because we had a large party, which to be honest I kinda think I wouldn’t have tipped for the first time in my life if it hadn’t been required. I can truly say from living in Chicago and LA and visiting my sister in SD that this is by far the worst experience I’ve ever had in my entire life at any eating establishment. I honestly feel hurt because we basically paid $ 400 for bad service and even worse food.

Glad I called ahead to check the menu. I found the C-Level listing on the web and opened the menu from Unilocal, but it was actually the menu for Island Prime. Turns out that there are two restaurants at the same location, a casual one called C-Level with outdoor seating, and a fine dining reservations-only restaurant called Island Prime. Island Prime has great water views, but no outdoor seating. We got it straight, made reservations, and had an exceptional dinner at Island Prime. Checking in was a little confusing, however. Valet parking was staffed up and fast, but the hostess stand manages check ins for both restaurants. There were two hostesses standing right next to each other, but the first one I went to told me I needed to see the other hostess. The other hostess was dealing with a gaggle of casually-dressed diners negotiating a large table at the casual restaurant, which does not take reservations. Once we checked in, my husband asked me, «Do we get a fizzy coaster to tell us when our table is ready?» He had seen the Island Prime hostess handing out coasters to the other party. I assured him that for $ 100 per plate, we would not be summoned with a vibrating coaster. Once we got settled, everything was fabulous! It was a Monday night, typically when a chef has the night off. Island Prime must have a «deep bench» in the kitchen, because the Monday night food was exceptional. Lee was our server. The atmosphere was romantic and there seemed to be personal celebrations and events going on, along with a few business dinners. We went to Eddie V’s the following night and much preferred Island Prime’s food.

Island Prime for a nice romantic dinner. My husband and I took a night off from baby duty to celebrate his birthday. My girlfriend actually recommended this place as their steak is «melt in your mouth good.» This is what I ordered… Lobster Trio– || ceviche was on point, especially if your into lemony spice. || Lobster Popsicle had no flavor and was a fail. || Lobster bisque was actually one of my favorites in SD. There is a very subtle alcohol taste and filled with big chunks of lobster. I could tell this was freshly made and prepared. Lobster Mac and cheese– ehhh! I wasn’t a fan but my husband loved it. Huge chunks of lobster, kind of dry, and baked in a very high temperature oven. Filet mignon– soft, juicy, melt in your mouth goodness. I would rank this #1 in SD. Hand in hand with Ruth Chris. If you head up to LA there are a lot of steakhouses that might be better. (Try all the sauces if you want, no extra charge) Prime rib– soft and juicy. Huge!!! And by huge I mean could feed a family of 6. But not much different from Barona Buffet. Overall we paid for the view and a full tummy. Some ups and downs but overall we had a great experience.

Dinner with my best friends during my recent visit to San Diego and our decision was dinner was easier than expected. We wanted steak and a view and Island Prime fit the bill! We arrived on time for our reservation and hey quickly brought us to our table. Right on the window with a great view of the water as we requested. We settled in and decided on some drinks and appetizers to start. Our server was friendly gave us some good suggestions. For my entrée I ordered the ribeye and I couldn’t resist the brussel sprouts for my side. While waiting for our entrees, they brought over the bread and despite trying to refrain from eating the bread, I just couldn’t resist. Perfectly fluffy and delicious. Our entrees came and my steak was cooked medium rare just as I requested. The brussel sprouts were delightful as well. My friend preferred them to her order of onion rings so I let her have as many as she wanted. We were dining with my friend’s seven year old and they had some decent options on the kid’s menu, which I was surprised by. We anticipated having to shared our meals with her but we were able to get her her very own small filet for just $ 10. The view, service and meal was fantastic. Surprising, since one usually sacrifices food for views when it comes to dining at the beach.

Came here with my boyfriend for a birthday dinner! With parking, your best bet is just to go with valet. Don’t bother with self parking unless you get super lucky. Made a reservation for a Monday, probably two weeks prior and I requested to have a seat by the window since you can see the San Diego skyline from the restaurant. When we got to the restaurant and checked in, I was still hoping to sit next to the window cause it’s absolutely gorgeous at night if the sky is clear! The lady at the front had told me that window seats weren’t guaranteed and we didn’t get a window seat so I was kinda bummed about that. I don’t remember the cocktail drinks that we had ordered(due to this being an overdue review) but I do remember it being good! My boyfriend and I got a study in lobster as an appetizer to share. Really good! It was lobster bisque, lobster ceviche, and lobster sticks. For our entrees, we had both gotten then natural wagyu new york strip steak, both medium rare. The steaks were cooked perfectly! The meat was tender and I wish I had it again lol. We also got brussel sprouts, and the mac and cheese. We weren’t too much of a fan for the mac and cheese but definitely the brussel sprouts were amazing. Our waiter got the memo that it was my boyfriend’s birthday and he brought a little dessert for my boyfriend at the end of our meal If you’re a Scripps employee and you have your Passport card, USEIT! Buy one get one free entrée of equal or lesser value!!!

Wow! It’s my last steak on earth and where should I go? ISLANDPRIME! Cliff Notes: Views of downtown and the Harbor Service: Hostess was sweet and friendly Waiter was impeccable Restaurant was modern, upscale with white linens Wine was devine Valet parking Entrees? Incredibly delicious! We landed in our favorite city and wandered in this area to look for a place to eat with the help of Unilocal and since there were several great restaurants to choose from we picked Island Prime since it had the shortest wait. It was a Friday night and we had no reservations. As usual we were dressed in our travel chic comfort wear and we weren’t looked at cross-eyed despite the couples who were dressed to impress. We waited only a few minutes for a table and we quickly sauntered over to a comfy booth and ordered our wine. We chose a few different reds all varying from light to bold. Wine goblets were huge and the serving was perfect. A bread basket came out and was devoured. MMM, sourdough slices with melted butter hit the spot. I didn’t order off the menu. I just told the waiter I wanted the smallest fillet. He was so accommodating and brought me the most delicious juicy steak I’ve ever had. The fabulous Béarnaise sauce was incredibly velvety and sinful. I couldn’t get enough of this sauce. My meal was so delicious that if I won the lottery I would steal their chef and bring him home to cook for me every night. Gotta play those same numbers. Our handsome and polished waiter offered suggestions for sides. So we chose the asparagus and the creamy mashed potatoes. i’m getting hungry just writing this! My sister ordered a salmon and she was fixated on the Polenta which was on the special. And our fabulous, handsome waiter honored her wish and added it on her plate. It was a simple request and it was honored without a blink of an eye. Exceptional. Because how many times have you asked for something simple only to be denied? Not here. After dinner, we were stuffed and licking our plates. So no room for dessert. We had two kiddos with us and they were accommodated with hamburgers and a seafood appetizer full of lobster lollipops, lobster ceviche, lobster bisque and fried lobster. Yes, yes, more, more. This will be our must-stop steak house. If you live here and haven’t been here? Seriously, go now.

F I V E Golden S T A R S ! I absolutely LOVE Island Prime!!! Can I claim the rep of #1FAN… never mind, I dub myself that role without permission! Ha! The framILY and I had Thanksgiving reservations here last November. Mind you, I’m the traditional type that usually has Thanksgiving Dinner around a dinning table at someone’s home, so you have to understand that I had my many reservations in breaking my tradition and going to a restaurant on probably one of the busiest holidays. I had many concerns running through my head like: increased holiday up-pricing, crazy annoying crowds, etc. But because SD is my second home and because we were going to meet up with my mamma-in-law, then I opened up to the idea of going out for Thanksgiving. Can I just say that I am beyond thankful I decided to go with the idea of going to Island Prime because I am now the #1 fan… Imaging it’s sitting on their covered outdoor patio enjoying a delicious steak paired with a glass of wine?! Pure bliss. From the service, to the food everything was exceptional and went beyond my expectations. This visit truly makes me want to do Thanksgiving Dinner here EVERY year! The Thanksgiving Day menu options caters to everyone, at a reasonable price of $ 55 a person. That includes an appetizer, main entreè and dessert… all really good choices! I am looking forward to my next visit to Island Prime!

Prob some of the best food I’ve ever had along with the breathtaking ocean view. Came here for Valentine’s Day, and they Valentine’s Day specials were on point. AMBIENCE: Dimly lit floor for the romantics ambience; tables and chairs were very comfortable but the view was magnificent. Looked over the harbor and the city. FOOD: We started off with the special passion guava rum punch which was prob the best mixed drink I’ve tried. Tasted like juice hehe… Also got the wine pairings for dinner. We were first served popovers and whipped jalapeño honey butter, which was amazing. Then I got the pan roasted day boat scallop which featured a scallop over crispy prosciutto and a risotto cake. The flavors meshed together perfectly. My bf got the seared Hawaiian ahi stack which feature mango papaya salsa with taro chips and caviar. Tasted amazing like a fancy guacamole with crisp chips. This course was paired with Rison and landmark Chardonnay. Both had deep flavors and very tasteful to the palate. Second course, I got Cedar plank roasted Salmon with cucumber salsa and black linguine with chipotle cream. The seasoning on the salmon was delectable and had a twinge of sweetness to it. The linguine was perfectly cooked and the salsa added a nice zaazz to the course. My bf got the Roquefort Filet Mignon and it was truely astonishing… I would say one of the best steaks I’ve tasted in my life. The meat was sooo flavorful and meshed extremely well with the buttered mashed potatoes and the blanched green beans. Definitely an A+ meal. This was paired with a Camilla malbec. Lastly, we got the red velvet chocolate cake with a port wine which was extremely fruity and rich with berry aromas. The cake was great, moist, and the whipped cream cheese frosting definitely made the dessert. The chocolate ganache was slightly bitter but still tasty(: It was a great Valentine’s dinner($ 64.95/person and $ 20 extra for the wine pairings). I would definitely come back for more!

I had been meaning to review this place for a while, I am glad that I got to come here to SD restaurant week. I had a really good impression of them the last time I was here for my birthday! You have two options for parking, valet at the front of the restaurant or park at a small parking lot on the right right when you enter the lot. Tips: Make reservations early, make it a bit before the sunset time and request for a table with view! You’ll get a really good view of a beautiful sunset on the West, the restaurant is located right near the water. The reflection and the clouds, A+ game if you’re on a date! After the sunset when the sky gets darker and darker, you’ll get a gorgeous view of the San Diego skyline on the East. For appetizers, I highly suggest the Seafood Tower if you are a fan of seafood. The price is decent for a 3 level tower. You get a variety of things from the raw bar. They had really fresh oysters, shrimp, clams, and mussels. I remember it was around $ 30, but it depends on the market price of course. My next favorite is the Lobster Bisque, they definitely have one of the best lobster bisque I have ever had. It’s really rich and creamy, and they are generous on pieces of lobsters. Tip: Save some of your bread for the soup, I was completely in love with their bread and butter! For the entrée, I have only had the Filet Mignon. They always do a good job on the temperature. The filet was juicy and tender. Ugh, I want more now. You get mashed potatoes and green beans on the side. The sides were just okay. I definitely suggest you to go with the wine pairing for your courses, they do a good job pairing different wines for each of the things that you ordered. They also have wonderful servers here, very attentive and they have great humor. Shout out to Enrique, he really helped us out for our SD Restaurant Week order!

What a meal! This is one of the best opportunities that restaurant week offers. Be warned though, reservations book up fast! I was able to snag a Monday night dinner for restaurant week. When we arrived our table for two was ready immediately, and I was pleasantly surprised that we were escorted to a prime window table overlooking the harbor and Coronado bridge. The service was excellent– the waitress was attentive, but not hovering(which can happen when a place is trying to turn over tables quickly). I ordered a berry bramble cocktail to start, which was a simple yet delicious combination of vodka and berry purée. For food, I started with the lobster bisque which was just perfection. Rich, creamy, with just a hint of spice, and a big piece of lobster to garnish. Boyfriend got the arugula salad, which at first seemed pretty bitter, but improved a lot as he kept eating. For main dishes, I ordered the bay scallops which consisted of three perfectly cooked seared scallops on top of three risotto cakes and slices of cooked prosciutto. It had the perfect balance of salt and butter, and it tasted delicious but not too unhealthy. My boyfriend got the filet mignon cooked medium which was absolutely amazing. Cooked perfectly, seasoned perfectly, and served with fluffy mashed potatoes and green beans. For dessert I had the peanut butter cheesecake, which was easily the best cheesecake I’ve ever had. The crème brûlée was also delicious. I highly recommend this place, for amazing ambience, food and service!

What can possibly be said about this restaurant that hasn’t already been said? It is amazing. This is usually the go to spot for my wife and I’s anniversary and her birthday. The scenery, the ambience, the food. First of all, let me start off the the wine list. Not being much of a wine connoisseur, the list is excellent and the staff are most helpful in assisting me to pick one appeasing to me. Next, onto the the bread. Being the hawg that I am, the bread alone could be a meal to me. I love all types of bread but their’s is exceptional. For my entrée, I had the Rack of lamb. Jesus Herman Christ! This was awesome. Don’t know what other adjective to use but awesome. On the side was the Twice Baked potato which I shared with my wife because the portion is quite big. Last, but not least, was the desert: The Key Lime pie. Not key West, Florida good but delicious none the less. All in all, bring your sweetie here. If this don’t put you over the top with her(or him), you’re in trouble.

Holiday time and a lovely meal with coworkers and friends. Island Prime offers magnificent views, fantastic ambience, and impeccable service. Our hosts were more than accommodating for our rather large party. I called ahead and was assured of Vegan food options that are not listed on the online or paper menus. I informed the waiter upon arrival and he confirmed that there was indeed a Vegan entrée. To start, I ordered a mixed green salad. I explained to the waiter that I adhere to a Vegan diet and he suggested an herbed vinaigrette. The dressing was good but the salad came topped with crumbled gorgonzola despite my prior talk of Veganism. Never one to cause a scene, I did my best to eat around the cheese. For mains, I had Shichimi Togarashi Spiced Tofu, Slaw w/Lime Dressing, Sliced Avocado, and Mango Salsa. An uninspired dish and to be honest, I really felt left out as the others in my party mostly enjoyed their selections. I appreciate the accommodation to my diet, but with the talent of Chef Scott and the price($ 21) I anticipated more. It’s worth noting that I have been here several times before including a past Birthday, and enjoyed perfectly cooked steaks and gorgeous seafood. For the 99% it’s a fine place for a meal, but it’s far from a food destination for those who choose a plant based lifestyle.
