Wow, let me just say you couldn’t have a better team working for you. Between Jim and Billy they got the job done and in a timely manner. My husband and I couldn’t of been more happier with the ending result and it couldn’t of turned out better. If they say it, they’ll do it! If you need your pool demo, their the guy’s you need for the job!!!

Awesome company and Billy is the best. Removed our pool quickly and did a great job. You can’t go wrong using them. Thanks again

We want to give our highest recommendation to James Construction for the excellent work that they did in filling in our pool and removing backyard concrete and landscaping (trees). They certainly exceeded our expectations.
The work was done in a very professional manner by a very knowledgeable management team and their excellent (and knowledgeable) crew. All of the members of the team were helpful, friendly and very interested in making sure that the job was done correctly. They provided sound advice and were also very accommodating in responding to our requests during the course of the project. The work was started and then carried straight through to completion within the time frame that was promised. (The only missed days were weather related.) Clean up afterwards was also excellent.
As noted in one of the other reviews, they did honor the pricing that they presented in their proposal and did not try to increase it after the work commenced.
Accordingly, we highly recommend them for the quality of their services and business practices.

I’m finally getting around to writing my review of a pool demo James Construction did for us back in June when we first moved into our new home. In short the whole process was a pleasure.
We moved into a home with extensive landscaping and a large black bottom pool that essentially took up the whole backyard. We have two small children and it’s something we had to get rid of. I called 3 pool demo companies: one never got back to me, one guy came out and enthusiastically evaluated our pool and came up with an elaborate plan to get his heavy equipment in the backed to perform the demo and then never got back to me with a quote. James Construction came through all the way. I’ve been told private home pool demo’s are small business for these guys. The bulk of their business from from large demo projects from multi complex housing and the like.
The first person you will communicate with will most likely be Billy (Bob Cat Billy) who is very professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. He came out knows exactly what he’s looking for makes his measurements and has a VERY clear and concise line item plan and price proposal to give to you. Our demo also included finished landscaping which they do. So, I can’t compare his pricing because I have nothing to compare it to. So for roughly ~$ 8000 our pool was completely buried and then it cost ~$ 4000 to finish off the landscaping. Now, our pool demo was NOT easy because we had limited access to heavy equipment to our backyard. In a simple case these guys can complete the job (permits and all) in about 3 – 4 days. Our pool was buried MANUALLY, I’m talking 4 guys and wheelbarrows! backbreaking work. It still only took about 6 days. The landscaping took another week and that’s because we have a complicated sprinkler system that had to be integrated into the new system.
Billy and James came by everyday to see how things were going. Their crew was very professional, on time, super nice guys. They have great business practices; Once you agree to their price proposal they will not change the price on you. We had a few unforeseen problems with our landscaping and I was worried that they would have to modify the price of the work but not they just took care of the problem. Your not going to get nickel and dimed. About a couple weeks later there were soft spots in the grass (which is typical while everything settles) and Billy came back checked it out and had one of his guys shore it all up for us, no charge. It’s been perfect ever since. Oh, and best part, you don’t pay a dime until the work is completed. That’s a sign of a healthy business. The cost of the demo also included removing all the pumps, bars, misc associated equipment and fixing the stone around the pool where filters and poles were removed. This is work that requires a permit through the city and they take care of all of that.
Anyways, if you’ve been contemplating getting your pool buried or need a demo company for other work you are doing I highly recommend these guys. Quality work and good business practices. Maybe they are not the cheapest in town… but you know what they say. You get what you pay for.
Oh P. S. — we had grass installed over the pool. I was afraid it would look like a putting green but it doesn’t look that bad ;-D Their grass recommendation through not the cheapest has worked out great for us. Our gardener is impressed. It does require some fertilization about 3 months after planting to keep it green. They use only top quality soil. So again, yes you could buy cheaper stuff and landscaping is very very expensive but everything looks great and is very healthy so I say go with their recommendations if you are installing grass.

Our tiles were starting to fall off, the plaster needed to be redone, and now the pool pump had to be replaced. All this for a swimming pool that was used perhaps three times a year by the neighbors and was costing me in pool service, chemicals, electricity, and water at least 1600 dollars a year. So it was time to seek alternatives.
I contacted a couple of places that advertised themselves as performing pool demolition, but James Construction was the only one that had the courtesy to respond. Bill, subsequently known as Bob Cat Billy, made an appointment, and showed up promptly. He was professional and patient, answered all my questions completely, and promised that he would provide me a line item estimate within a day… which he did. The estimate had options for landscaping after the pool demolition, which we declined. We agreed to the scope of work and now it was just a matter of getting the permit.
Bill kept me informed of the progress of the permit process, and when there was a glitch (the city made an error), he worked through it quickly.
The work started on a Wednesday. The crew that showed up was ready to go to work and they were professional and friendly and courteous. The work proceeded as Bill had outlined. I have had experience with a bathroom remodel where the contractor continually promised that work would commence on such and such a date or recommence on such and such a date, time after time, only to continually break the promises. In this job, all promises were kept.
I changed the scope of the work the day before the demolition started, asking for an estimate to lay down artificial grass. Bill responded quickly, giving me the estimate, and giving me the contact information for the source of the artificial turf so that I could get an independent opinion directly from the source.
Even with this change in scope the work completed on time: Started on a Wednesday, finished on a Thursday of the following week. Everything these guys said would happen, happened. They had to take down a fence to gain access for the bobcats, they had to pile fill dirt in the street, and piled of ash (the foundation for the turf) in the backyard… when they were finished, everything was clean and restored to better than the beginning point.
James, the owner, was the on-​site coordinator of the work. He was unfailingly polite, professional, patient, and responsive, dealing with my concerns, taking everything I had to say seriously. I could not have asked for a better man to work with.
I can assure you, if you are looking to have your pool demolished and either no or a lot of landscaping done after the pool demolishment, you simply cannot do better than James Construction. I am a skeptical person and in my personal and business life have dealt with many contractors, but these guys are great. They say they will do things the way they would want it done for themselves, and they mean it.
A final note: Think of this… in my case, I spent about 10K and will save at least 1,600 dollars a year. That is a 16 percent return on my money. Where do you get that return on an investment these days?

From start to finish everyone was professional, friendly, upfront and they exceeded my expectations of what demolishing a pool would incur. They met the deadlines and provided me with a beautiful landscaped yard that included a natural gas fire pit, lights, and plants. Great job! Kudos to Ken who designed this, and to Garza property services for their hard work.
