Dr. Pham and his staff are great! I have been coming here for years for eye exams and they are always extremely friendly and supportive. Highly recommended!

I just went in for my first visit on Friday. I was met by a very friendly and helpful staff and I had a great experience. Though I have not purchased my glasses yet, they have a very nice selection of frames.

I went to this office because it was close to my office and convenient for me. The staff there was very helpful and friendly. They have a good selections for frames both eyeglasses and sunglasses. I was able to pick one out within a few minutes. If you want a hassle free experience, Mira Mesa eye care is the please for you.

My annual eyecare check up with Dr. Tony Pham was smooth as I usually would expect. His office hours were convenient for me to kick in for checkup. His staff with their great smiles and warm welcome made me feel quickly comfortable. I was able to get quickly checked in no time. Dr. Pham gave me a thorough caring checkup on both my eyes and updated my prescription. In fairly half an hour I was out with new prescriped contact lenses for the next year.
I look forward to coming back for years to come!

Rip off! Dr Pham could not get my prescription correct trying to give me one that was two levels below what I had been wearing for years. I couldn’t see! Plus, the contacts made my eyes red. He said it must be what they store the contacts in but second pair did the same thing. He charged my insurance company a contact fitting fee, wtf, contacts are the same size! But because he charged this fee even when I went to my old Optometrist for a prescription, paying cash, I still couldn’t use my insurance to buy the contacts as Dr. Pham had already used my allowance for the «fitting»! To make matters worse, I was charged for contacts from his office, over $ 200, and never received contacts but they said I did so would not refund the money! Eye exam and a years worth of contacts at my regular eye Dr was less than the $ 200 they still owe me. Very over priced! And a total rip off to be charged fees that no other Optometrist charges. And criminal to take money for goods that were not received!

Dr. Pham has a great team at Mira Mesa Eyecare. Receptionist and assistant very friendly and helpful. Dr. Pham also really great at educating you on pictures taken of eye, eye tests, etc. By far the most I’ve learned from any eye doctor I have seen before. It’s not your Costco selection of frames and what they do have there pretty much covered all my basis. I will be back to learn more about my eyes! :)

Eyeglasses selection was fair for insurance coverage. Chose to upgrade for $ 25 which was a really good price. I actually can’t wait to get them and wear it instead of my contacts. Good selection. Nice doctor.

They had no record of today’s visual field testing appointment, confirmed when I was there for regular eye test just 12 days ago. They weren’t even friendly about it, first claiming it was yesterday, then saying it was because they couldn’t confirm with insurance and it’d be too late to call.
Time to find a new eye doctor! Won’t be back. Too bad, since Dr. Pham was pretty nice, but his staff completely sucks.

Excellent customer care and in-​depth eye exam. All questions answered. All inner eye photos explained in detail. Quick and friendly. We understand more about our eyes now in our senior years than we ever did in the past!

Mira Mesa Eyecare is the standard all eye places should strive to achieve. My past experiences at other places had me thinking that eye doctors were interchangeable, and all were average to bad. This place makes it clear that great service is possible from an eye doctor. They were fast, efficient, and just all around good to work with. My appointment started on time and moved quickly. They had a wide array of sample lenses so I was able to try my new prescription immediately – good luck finding that anywhere else. The great service continued after I left the office when I called with a question and the staff was very agreeable in helping me.
If you live or work anywhere even remotely close to this place, you should choose them for your eye care.

I was super pleased with everything about this little optometrist. They were fast, easy to get into, pleasant and had my glasses and contacts ready within 3 days. I can’t say anything but positive things!

Ok… so if you wear glasses to see everyday and you order from here… be prepared not to be seeing for over a month. I ordered a simply pair of shades (Oakley’s to be precise. since they are a distributor) and they mentioned blah blah blah this and that. ok I get it… it takes time to make, but don’t promise to have them done and not fulfill that promise. The one receptionist who is constantly not there or works later in the day, is rude. I have heard her speak to others while I have been there and she is rude. Yes I get it, we need glasses and we have to come to you, but at least treat the customers with respect. There are other Oakley distributors I know… so make sure you go to them and not this place. You’ll never get your glasses.

Very knowledgeable doctor who doesn’t skimp on his equipment. State of the art machines to scan, measure, and analyze patient’s eyes complete with a photo of both my optical nerves sent to my email. The only reason I didn’t give this place a 5-​star rating was the lack of frame options and organization covered by my insurance.

This was probably my best experience at an eye doctor since I first needed one. The office is nice and quiet, the staff is friendly, there was no wait. Dr. Pham is kind and professional and explains things in a way I understand. He also taught me some new things I did not know before. The equipment is state of the art. Usually eye doctor appointments are a sensory nightmare for me, but this wasn’t. I felt very at ease. I will definitely come here again.

Received an eye exam, contacts, and a new pair of glasses. Dr. Pham is incredibly friendly, always making fun chit chat during the exam. Jessica is very nice and helpful at the front desk, and so is the other lady (sorry forgot her name).
The glasses and contacts were ready very quickly and I had no problem picking them up. Thanks!

Had a little problem with getting my glasses on time. I know it was not Dr Pham fault, but sill it reflects on your business.

You may leave with worse eyesight then you had when you arrived!
I went to Mira Mesa Eye care for my first pair of glasses. It was a pretty weak prescription. When I got them I had a really hard time wearing them I suffer from migraines and my headaches increased. I though that it was just because I was trying to get used to them. I forced myself to wear them but gave up in the end.
When I returned I told them this and they realized that they got my prescription backwards. They refused to refund the cost of the incorrect lenses. Even though they were useless to me and may have further damaged my vision. They then grudgingly agreed to offering 20% off the cost of new lenses. Needless to say I will never go back. I drive halfway across town now and love my new optometrist.

Okey, I have to say that the Dr. was not bad. He did take the time to explain options and alternatives to lasik-​which was great!
The worst part about this place is their receptionist/​manger person at the front desk. HORRIBLE customer service. I’ve never been treated soo poorly anywhere I had to PAY for my services. The girl at the front desk screwed up my order 3 times and I never received any calls about my contacts even being ready for pick up. I had to guess every time. She did eventually give me what I ordered but not without some embarassment on my part. I am going to change doctors TODAY.

Dr. Pham works here now, it seems Dr. Richard Simonds has retired. Dr. Pham was really friendly, we spent about 15 minutes just talking about how fascinating the eye is. The rest of the time he was happy to explain to me what he was doing and what it meant, when I asked. He also concluded that my current prescription was too strong. I use a computer for long periods of time, and he said too strong of a prescription would cause eye strain. He also recommended anti-​glare glasses.
My only concern was the price. Maybe it is just that I have different insurance since the last time I had an eye exam, but I felt like I was forking out more money that usual. I checked Costco’s prices later, and it appears that they charge a lot less for their exams and glasses, but I was pleasantly surprised that my contacts were cheaper through Mira Mesa Eyecare, after rebate.
You might be able to save a few Jacksons by going to Costco, but I’m not sure they’ll give you the same level of service as Mira Mesa Eyecare. M.M.E. even did my insurance authorization and coverage check for me, filed the claim for me and only billed me for what was not covered. I’ve been told that Costco makes you pay the full amount upfront and leaves you to deal with your insurance for reimbursement.
Four stars for excellent customer service and for handling the insurance for me. If they could be more competitive with Costco’s exam prices, it would make them a solid five.

Dr. Pham (the new Optometrist) messaged me and was more than willing to make things right.
I can’t fault a new business owner and so have updated my review to 3 stars.

My vision provider was/​is Cigna, and this was the closest provider to my
house (at the time).
I went in for a vision exam, and the Optometrist, Dr. Richard Simmons,
seemed really nice.
The BIG PROBLEM was when he checked my eyes with that metal thingamajig (sorry, I forgot what it’s called)
He kept saying, «ONEORTWO.ONEORTWO.ONEORTWO.»
*imagine this in the same voice/​tone as the micromachine man*
I was thinking, «F*CK!!! If I ask him to slow down, he might get mad.»
So at the end, when he had me read the vision board… I told him,
«You know what? I can’t read the bottom two lines»
and he said «Oh, that’s normal.»
WTF. No it’s not.
Safe to say I’m not going back to renew my prescription.
