Jim & Bert Foreign & Domestic Auto Repair

This is the only place I’ll go to get my car service. No BS they really tell me what’s wrong and why I need to fix it. I’ve been taking my cars here since 2009, they service my Z and my mini. I wouldn’t go anywhere else, the last time I did it was a big mistake. Not gonna do that again, honest people, reasonable prices.

Ive been taking my car to these guys for about 10 years now. The best part is not that you wont get ripped off. The best part is you can ask these guys what MUST get done and what can hold off till the next time. These guys will tell you honestly every single time. I typically take my car here for any big job on my car. Its worth knowing your car will be fixed right and you wont be ripped off. Take it to these guys!

Shop was recommended by a colleague. Toyota dealer stated needed replace Idle Air Control Valve when I complained that car would intermittently not start until I floored gas pedal. Since I had replaced IAC valve only few years back I took the car to Jim and Berts. Jim immediately started the car, noticed hesitation on start and found that starter was original from factory 230,000 miles ago. I requested an OEM starter and Jim provided OEM part at a fair price. He also threw in IAC valve cleaning for only about $ 60. Service was next day. Went smoothly. No more starting problem! Dealer would have charged $ 500 for IAC valve and then when problem continued would have charged another $ 450 for starter!
Will definitely go back.

This place is legit. When I first stopped by for help, even though they were busy, Jim took the time to check the car’s service engine error code and patiently answered all my questions about the error.
Then a couple of days after when I came for the actual car repair, Jim and Bert explained what parts were reliable and suited for my car based on car type and age. For instance they suggested to get a specific coil that was from the original car manufacture for reliability, based on prior experiences. And even after the job was done Jim came to show me the spark plug and coil that was swapped out and how it functioned in the car.
These guys are friendly and really give the time to answering all questions and making you feel at ease with the repair.

HARD to find a mechanic you can trust. But that’s exactly why I take my car and my family’s cars here to be serviced. They’re honest about their prices and the services your car requires. If it’s better to purchase parts elsewhere, they’ll recommend that, and won’t always insist on paying for their parts. They are usually available and the waits are never too long. Also love that they’re fellow Filipinos!

Jim & Bert have been my family’s auto mechanics for over 10 years now. I trust them for their honesty and reasonable rates. There are several times they would tell me I do not need certain services when I was prepared to pay for it. Due to their busyness, they may be a little lacking in customer service but I have learned to understand them. Overall, I would not hesitate to take our cars to them for repairs and maintenance

I have been going here since 1996 when I got my very first car at 16, a 1983 Honda Accord. They have helped me with my old annoying Jetta, a pontiac, and now my mazda. I am now 34, and still go to them. They are the ONLY mechanics that I trust. Very nice, genuine people. They understand that you might not have $ to pay for future problems and will let you know what is priority. Love Jim and Burt.

Honest workers, very friendly and funny group, great prices, loyal customers, always a line of cars = high quality business. Kudos to Jim, Bert, George and the rest of the crew for years of excellent service. Once a problem, is a problem no more, if your bring your vehicle here.

The only reason that I’m adding an update is because no related problems occurred since the original repair.
The car is still happy and problem free. I’m still happy.
Now I’m worried that I just jinxed myself.

All i can say is if you dont know much about cars dont bring your car over here, these two can make some stupid mistakes and get away with it if you dont check up on them, or they do get away with it and you end up bringing the car back to them for a problem that was their fault to begin with… until then your probably thinking they deserve 5 stars and get the job done right. Just some things ive had problems with here: Wrong oil put in car, several radiators changed little did they know that the reason they were changing the radiators so often was because of bad hoses, shitty weld jobs, stolen parts which they claim is not their fault, forgetting to put the lug nuts back on tires, the list goes on. Several occassions asked for cash straight up, now you tell me if they are still honest. If you have a honda, hyundai, or some other cheap car go ahead, it MAY be worth it. probably the only kind of cars these guys are used to working on anyway. But if you have a car you really care about take my advice and find someone else these guys will empty your wallets in a heartbeat.

I have been going to Jim and Bert’s for over 5 years but never again will I ever go back! They were the best now they are the at the bottom.
I’m not sure now anyone could say they are honest when they told me and my husband that we had a bad battery, I said it is only a year or so old how could that be? Then George said your battery is leaking… I get a new battery from auto zone on black mountain rd. they were nice enough to bring it to Jim and Bert. ok so now they have the new one and auto zone has the leaking battery…
I call auto zone and ask how bad is the leek? They say what leek your battery is fine, you should get 4 or 5 more years out of it! I ask if I could pick up old battery and return the new one they said sure no problem.
Shame on you George you make Jim and Burt look bad. You did not test the battery and you LIED TO ME ABOUT THE LEAK!!! That is not good business. I told all my friends that I had told over the years how great you WERE but not any more.
People pay the extra money and go to the dealer or find a new place do not trust them!

Very honest mechanics. They can be slow at times, but they get the job done and done right. Not to mention that their prices are outstanding. You know they are good at what they do when there is always a line of cars waiting to be serviced at this place.
