Joshua’s has providing great pest control services for us for years. Appreciate their products are pet friendly, and Tom is always thorough and courteous.

Every agent from Joshua’s has been friendly and professional. JB came today and serviced our home and was excellent. They do a thorough job, call ahead, and are consistent in their timing. We use them for our home and our business and we have nothing but positive things to say about both.

Best pest control service! Jason was here today & was so thorough and pleasant. These guys are the best!

Joshua’s pest control came out to the house today for our quarterly service. Our technician Jason did a great job. He even knew that we had infant triplets which apparently changes what products they use. Good to know I hired the right company!

I had an appointment today for a service call inside the home for any time between 4pm and 6pm with a call 30 mins call prior to visit as I was going to be a half block away from home… I got hime by 430… NO call no visit! I spent a lot of time prepping my pantry an home for treatment now my kitchen is unusable because if the prep and since the service time was until 6pm I didn’t call until they were 10 mins late and surprise surprise the office is closed why are appts being scheduled outside business hours WITH NO WAY to reach the company

I cant say enough bad things about this place. and you cant give less than 1 star.
They supposedly sprayed along the edges of my house and were supposed to come back and «clean» the cobwebs, well a guy came back and just walked around my house on his cell phone and did nothing, which cost me 119 dollars. They gave me the run around and just have bad integrity as a company. I have pictures of the bugs and webs after they sprayed and after the initial first cleaning, and second visit, my house is no different, they DO NOT care about there customers only about money. THIS PLACE IS A COMPLETE RIP OFF!!! I would see better results if I walked around myself spraying Raid. Complete waist of money. DO NOT HIRE THEM!!!

Ok, I called this company many months ago about a rat problem for a close friend… I thought it was a little high priced but I was for them as opposed to the other companies we called. She didn’t use them… but, when I had a flea problem I talked to the same guy and the price was the same, however, they have me $ 100 off because my place is so tiny. I wasn’t keen on the 1 year quarterly contract that started only one month after initial spray, but what choice did I have. I didn’t want there to be a continuing problem and have to pay $ 200 twice. Anyway, the guy came out to spray inside and out on August 11. He was ok, he talked on the phone while he sprayed, which was confusing at first, and unprofessional. I told him to be discreet about the problem we were having and he talked LOUD! Whatever, within two to three weeks, I’m seeing no fleas inside or out, although, in the middle of that time I did want them to come out and spray outside and the wait was over a week. Supposedly, the in between service is as needed, if needed, but I thought it wasn’t very fast service. Also, when they did come out, they counted it as my first quarterly, even though it’s only been about 3 weeks, September 2.
Oh, I forgot to mention the issue with payment. When the tech came out I gave him a cc#. He called it in and after he had already been at the house for 30 minutes and finished the service, the lady on the phone told him go ahead and start! Really? Anyway, I guess a week later they called me to say they hadn’t ran my card and I actually gave then a different form of payment. I really like my payments to go through when services are rendered, because I’m not the greatest of bookkeepers, so I didn’t care for that. Anyway, when I called to set up the outside spray the lady on the phone said I can pay anytime before my next service, in December, but when the tech was at my door, he tried the guilt trip, this will help my numbers, etc… I gave him cash because I’d already learned giving them a card… I called today, they haven’t even processed that paperwork from that day yet! I have a receipt showing my payment, so I’m prepared to go to war, if necessary, but it’s just a lot of annoying little stuff. Also, the reason I went with them is because they said it was environmentally safe, I don’t know if that’s true, but like I said before… knock on wood, no more fleas!

Never ever make a scheduled appt– I’ve taken time off work for the LAST time today!!! You all are the worst– not even a phone call!!! Wow… Glad you value your military customers… POS business… I will make sure NONE of the Marines and Sailors I work with go anywhere near your nonsense «business» …, it’s really a negative one star rating — I’ll be contacting the BBB too…

Just had David, the sales rep, come to the door and what timing. I was just about to jump on Unilocal and call some pest control companies. He was pleasant, not at all pushy and when I showed him what our issue was he explained what was causing them. We are scheduled for tomorrow morning and looking forward to getting rid of the litter critters. I was concerned about the sprays and treatments because we have 2 dogs who love being outdoors rolling around and playing ball and he advised that they use eco-​friendly treatments. This review is solely based on the sales rep here in the East County and will post another on the treatment & how it goes with getting rid of the pests.

On 6÷30÷15, hubby and I are in our home getting frustrated; black ants have invaded our little home. With a vengeance. What a nuisance! Straight up vinegar in a spray bottle helped kill them, but the problem clearly is bigger than my spray bottle. There’s just no end to the invading critters! Kitty babies’ food and H20 fountain is under siege, my poor feral kitty boys’ feeding station is literally crawling w/​the vermin as well. I’m trying to cook around these pests & we cried to the Good Lord for help. He sent Joshua’s Pest Control (JPC) — I kid you not — he literally sent them. Whilst I was furiously spraying the countertops & line of ants with my vinegar spray bottle, the door bell rings, and Hubby answers it. The Fair Haired Angel of Ant Death (FHAoAD) arrived w/​clipboard in hand, laminated sheet & is attired in a clean polo shirt, khaki shorts (sorry, guy, I can’t remember your name, even though you did such an excellent job of remembering mine); after detailing the treatment plans available & price list Hubby & I enlist Joshua’s Pest Control’s help.
FHAoAD informed us a technician will come in short order & do their thing. The technician arrived on the scheduled date as promised & did his thing, informing Hubby that it’ll take a week for the ants to carry the bait back & distribute it in the nest. Our front yard, back yard, feral kitty boy’s feeding area, plants all were sprayed for fleas, spiders, ants and roaches. Fast forward to a week later, and the ants’ stubborn invasion persists. Nothing quite like waking up to a steady stream of ants in your kitchen wreaking havoc inside your cabinets, with no rhyme/​reason where they begin/​end. Hubby contacts JPC and schedules a respray (at no extra cost, and fully expected given the heat/​season). The desired date is available & we are scheduled for a re-​treatment on 7÷9÷15.
Jesus shows up (not to be blasphemous but can anyone else appreciate the irony here? Sorry my Review is so late, Jesus) on my doorstep EARLY. Like the timeframe I’m given is from 1100 – 1300, and Jesus shows up at 1100!!! Do you understand what that means?! It means that I can do what I need to do after Jesus finishes — my entire day isn’t shot. So, Jesus introduces himself, and explains what his plan of attack is. I inform him Hubby is EXTREMELY concerned his Ant Death Concoction will damage our baseboards and/​or hardwoods. Jesus reassures me it will not cause damage, nor is it toxic to my kitty babies (both indoor and feral). Jesus proceeds to do his thing, and performs his task in an efficient, methodical manner. Get this, Dear Readers — I requested Jesus don protective shoe covers to prevent his shoe soles tracking yucky germs and dirt inside our home. Jesus cheerfully complies without hesitation/​complaint/​surprise/​eye rolling, etc. — you get the picture. Despite his bum left knee, which made donning the shoe covers a challenge, Jesus dons the shoe covers and does his thing. Even when he had to go in/​out multiple times, Jesus removed the shoe covers and donned them again CORRECTLY, without having to be reminded. THANK YOU, Jesus (AGAIN the irony)! Jesus took the time to explain how the concentrated gel works, and did a thorough job spraying the entire house, from the 2^nd floor, to the ground floor, and he did a WONDERFUL job spraying my feral boys’ feeding area so they can eat their food w/​o vermin crawling all over their food/​H20.
After Jesus finished, he politely inquired if I had questions and/​or concerns whilst he prepared my invoice — all the while assuring me that they will return to spray again (at no extra cost) if necessary. The little family and I hold our breaths and depart for our out of town vacay praying the re-​treatment does the trick. On 7÷22÷15, we return home to discover. .. are you ready for this?! NO ANTS!!! Answered prayers and much relief from those unwelcome pests. Dear Readers, I did not know the difference between JPC and the other well known competition — is that JPC will spray the INSIDE of your home as needed, whilst the other company will not. I did not know that. JPC will retreat as necessary, at no additional cost. What a huge relief/​blessing!
Bottom line, folks — no regrets contracting JPC; also, if you’re blessed to have Jesus do your treatment, you’ll be greatly satisfied/​delighted. Polite, accommodating, friendly and efficient, Jesus cheerfully performs his job and doesn’t take unnecessarily long to accomplish it.
I must say I’m shocked — SHOCKED, I tell you — to read of other Reviewers’ awful experiences, and very thankful we didn’t experience the same treatment. When FHAoAD appeared on our doorstep, we DID NOT find him to be pushy, haranguing or impolite. Quite the opposite, in fact — which is why he made it past the front door; believe me, Hubby has NO PROBLEM at all shutting the door IN HIS FACE if FHAoAD was rude/​pushy. Hope this review helps, and Jesus, if you’re reading this review — thank you again for your help!

I’ve had about 3 treatments for the house exterior, interior and perimeter. The service is always great. Today’s service was exceptional. It doesn’t hurt that the guys spraying the house are good looking either. We’ve definitely seen a big difference and I would say it’s worth the money.

Gotta kinda wonder when this place is all 1 star or 5 star reviews? Anyways, this is another negative review because they used the blind door2soor solicitation approach rather than let customers reach out to them like any other good business. In this case they preyed on my 80+ year old grandparents (I really need to install a bigger No Solicitation sign). Their rep Ryan (who doesn’t answer his cell phone) laid the hard sale on my grandparents, also using the LIE that he had talked to the neighbors and they were signing up for the service. Later we confirmed they agreed to no such thing. He promised all kinds of things and led my grand parents to believe they would check for termites.
Luckily my grandparents called me before the appointment to express their disappointment in being suckered and I was able to call the Pest Control center. After a 12 min phone call to their main number (the rep was not answering) they reluctantly agreed to cancel the spray appointment (was only going to be for ants and spiders which they don’t have a problem with anyways). Anyways, they are supposed to shred the check but be carefully of this companies sales tactics, seems like people like their friendly service just that its probably unwarranted 99% of the time.
I would be very suspect of many of the 5-​star reviews, after all this is Unilocal where you can get all your friends to pad reviews of your business… Also they advertise FREE inspections but this inspections and cursory any spray was going to be $ 69
Also check out they have over 600 reviews that are not recommended (far more than actual good reviews)!!! This is usually the case of business with a lot of fake reviews and of a business that PAYS, yes PAYS Unilocal to take down reviews they don’t like.

Got harrased by one of their sales folks today. They came in the afternoon and harassed my wife and then in the evening after we came home from our evening walk.
Very pushy and tried to scare us with terrible scenerios with insects in our neighborhood. When asked for their business card, the salesman said he didn’t believe in business cards … this is a red flag for me as any reputable company would freely provide their business card.
I told them I need to research the subject of pest control before I sign with anyone and luckily I did because judging my the recent 1 star reviews, I definately will be giving my business to a more reputable company.
It’s a shame because their services might actually be good, but the face of the business (salesman) turn people off before even giving them a shot.

I have personally called this company and talked to their customer service department about the harassment in our neighborhood. Including unlawful soliciting hours past the times of 8pm, and continually stopping by in the same day when we aren’t answering. They continue to solicit in this unlawfully, and they are really creeping everyone out.
The company is well aware of its negative Unilocal reviews, which are mostly from unhappy neighbors in San Diego County who are upset with the companies sales tactics. They have had negative reviews for over a year, have been contacted by unhappy citizens, and are not doing anything to change it.
This company obviously cares more about trying to sell cheap pest control then they do about our community. Lets speak out and let our voice be heard, since they obviously aren’t listening.

I talked with Joy this week and Clark and Jason came out today. Totally professional and very amiable! They also gave me some additional advice on treating my fruit trees that I didn’t know about.
While no pest control can guarantee 100% control, they will however come out as often as needed — without additional charge — to take care of anything else that pops up! Totally worth it!
It is for this reason that I believe that they have a new lifetime customer…

Just like many other recent reviewers we found the salespeople to be VERY pushy.
He came to our home on a Saturday afternoon, a day of rest & relaxation for most people and disturbed our peaceful nap.
He was so persistent & annoying with my husband and insisted he sign IMMEDIATELY to get a better deal, when we DIDNT EVEN CALL HIM OUT, he came to OUR home soliciting services we didn’t request.
I will never ever use this company, no matter how «cheap» their services are.

well I would give ZERO stars if I could. Salesman ERIC came to my house and rang the doorbell RIGHT UNDER THE NO SOLICITORS SIGN!!! When I answered I asked him if he had difficulty reading and he said «what do you mean»? I pointed to the sign and he said he isn’t selling anything. I told him to go away and he tried to persist but I told him to GO AWAY!!!
Found out today that he came back and harassed my wife about the service as well. I wouldn’t do work with this firm if my house was crawling with ants, spiders, termites, dinosaurs or zombies!
Aggressive soliciting is un-​wanted and un-​called for. I suggest the owners of this business take a close look at how their salesmen are doing neighborhood canvasing and CHANGE it. You have alienated a LARGE neighborhood in San Marcos already. Enjoy your customer count dropping.

Just had an uninvited visit from a representative of Joshua’s Pest Control. He completely disregarded the «No Solicitors» sign adjacent to my front door, and proceeded to give me the hard sell on why I needed to switch pest control companies.
Several times I told him that we were happy with our current company and had no desire to change, and each time he would point out spider webs and other bugs, telling me that our current company wasn’t doing a good job. When I would try to talk, he would just keep talking. I finally just interrupted him and told him that I had no intention of changing pest control companies and that we had nothing else to talk about. At that point he started talking about fertilizers… that I was harming my dog with the products I was currently using… that he could save me tons of money… yadda, yadda, yadda. I again repeated that we had been using the same companies for many, many years and weren’t interested in changing. As I turned my back on him and went back in the house he was still mumbling, saying «I guess you like living with spiders then».
This guy was rude, pushy and a little bit creepy. He also did something which totally turns me off, and that is «bad-​mouthing» a competitor. If you can’t get new business on your own merits, and need to trash your competitors, what does that say about your company’s ethics? If he is representative of Joshua’s Pest Control, I would never choose to do business with them.
