I have Dental Insurance that nobody wants to take anymore. My Dentist, under Delta, installed three crowns about four years ago. He was concerned with «bone loss» with one. Sent me to some Dentist Mill out in the Valley, that would work with Delta. I ran away fast from that. Knowing a hand full of Dentist in the area, I was needing a honest opinion of my situation. Again, not all dentist are versed with my problem. I received a facial x-​ray that highlighted the entire mouth. Dr. Paulerio sat down, for over a hour, went over everything with me. The good news was things look fine. I just really thought he had my best interest in good order. Thank you.

Really good service, cleaning was a breeze by Chelsea, Doctor was fabulous. I think prices are a bit inflated compared to my previous dentist but cost of living increases apply, I’m sure.
The doctor tried to take into account finances and insurance particulars rather than trying to sell me products, which I appreciate.
I will stick them for awhile.

My dentist retired and it took me a year to finally start my search for a replacement, not something I was looking forward to but am so pleased I chose Dr. Paulerio and his incredible staff. From the moment I entered the office I received a warm greeting from Diana and then met Chelsea who made me feel at ease while gently and thoroughly cleaning my teeth. Following my cleaning Dr. Pauleiro came in to review my x-​rays and complete my exam, he is kind, professional and like the rest of his staff made me feel comfortable. I was anticipating a lecture about not taking proper care of my teeth or hearing I needed bridges, root canals, etc. Well that didn’t happen and I was so relieved! I was so impressed with Dr. Paulerio and his staff and would recommend him to friends and family without hesitation.

I was a patient of Dr. Paulerio’s, but not any more. Business must be so good that they didn’t need mine apparently. For the last two years Dr. Paulerio has performed multiple root canals and other dental work for me, and I paid nearly $ 5000 out of pocket for it. The work itself was fine, no complaints there. However, a few days ago I had to cancel an upcoming appointment since had a calendar conflict. It happens. I called and was told I had to pay a $ 50 dollar «cancellation fee».
I told them that I did not want to pay the fee, and would just go find another dentist if that’s what they insisted on. The lady on the phone was like «whatever» and with that I ended the call. I had another $ 2000 or more worth of work to be done on my teeth that they won’t be getting. They won’t be getting the $ 50 dollar fee, either. This cancellation fee is an expensive way to recoup costs, now isn’t it?
I work very hard for my money. People cancel appointments with me every now and then, but I don’t send them bill because of it. There are over 100 dentists listed in Unilocal in downtown San Diego. Many of them have 5 star ratings too. Dr. Paulerio was a good dentist, but there are a lot of good dentists out there. Dentists who won’t sock it to you if you unexpectedly have to cancel your appointment.

As a daughter of a dentist, it’s been hard in the ensuing years since my Pop’s retirement. Long story, but bottom line is I’m happy with my experiences here. It’s mostly just Chelsea cleaning and she is friendly and gentle. I’m not vain, but always go home, smile in the mirror and am happy with what I see. I have to say that Diana has always been the biggest smiling point. I was completely satisfied with Dr. Heintz, also. When he retired and Dr. Paulerio took over, I was hoping for a good transition. Got it! Thanks!!!

I went to Dr. Paulerio’s office yesterday for the first time and had an excellent experience. Dr. Paulkerio and his staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. I had been going to a dentist prior that I felt was preforming unnecessary services and tacking on extra charges, after my visit with Dr. Paulerio these feelings were confirmed. I am so happy to have found a dentist I can trust that is not going to preform painful and expensive services on me just to make an extra buck. I would highly recommend trying Dr. Paulerio and his staff out!

I have been going to Dr Paulerio for many years and have always been pleased with the excellent service he provides. Diana at the front desk is fantastic and keeps the office running smoothly. Chelsea is the best, I love that feeling of clean teeth after seeing her! They both are always so enthusiastic about what they do and always giving me advice on how to prevent future problems. I recently switched all 3 of my kids from a pediatric dentist to Dr Paulerio at their request and they had no complaints. One even commented on how her teeth felt much cleaner after seeing Chelsea than with the pediatric dentist.

Definitely the best dentist visit I can remember having. Diana at the front desk was very friendly, professional and awesome enough to give me a head’s up the day before when she thought my insurance wouldn’t fully cover my appointment. Chelsea, the dental hygienist, did the majority of my exam and cleaning. She was extremely thorough and explained all of the procedures she was employing. She was really careful that I felt comfortable and has a easy-​going and friendly manner (she adorably referred to my wisdom tooth as a «wise guy»). She made me feel deservedly guilty about not flossing, but in an expertly gentle way. The office is clean and bright with nice big windows overlooking the main road. Dr. Paulerio did a final assessment and while he seconded Chelsea’s concerns about my partially-​erupted wisdom teeth, he presented the facts of the procedure and next steps in a pressure-​free manner unlike other health care professionals I’ve seen. I decided I did want them removed and at the end of it all, Diana, being awesome again says «Why don’t we do the [prescan for wisdom teeth removal] right now?» saving me a trip! Thanks to all!

Everything about Dr Paulerio and his staff are top notch!
I had been going to my previous dentist for over 20 years when he suddenly retired. I wasn’t thrilled with his replacement and decided it was time to find a new dentist. Dr Paulerio’s office manager Diane was so pleasant to work with and made it simple to transfer my dental records and verify insurance coverage.
I’ve been coming here for a couple of years now. Even though the office seems small, they do a lot of their own work right out of their lab on premises. Chelsea the hygienist is a super cool lady. So fun to chat with and she always takes the weirdness out of someone scraping the yuck off your teeth.
They have the coolest photo/​X-​ray technology there! I always feel like they are never missing anything! Dr Paulerio is very relaxed and professional. Very cool guy and you can tell his patients love him. I always feel like I’m in great hands between the doc and Chelsea.

I recommend Dr. Paulerio and his team to all of my friends in the San Diego area. The staff is extremely nice and professional — more so than any other dentist I’ve been to. Diana (office manager) went out of her way to get me in for a look at an impacted wisdom tooth even though they were booked up that day. Brittany (dental assistant) was super sweet and cheerful, which really helped ease the sense of dread I usually get when I go see any other dentist. Dr. Paulerio himself has an excellent touch and goes out of his way to make the experience as comfortable as possible. What really impressed me even more than his friendliness and professional skills was his smart use of MODERN technology.
These people are proud of their work and are committed to a higher standard of patient care. Other dental offices would be well-​advised to follow Dr. Paulerio’s lead.

Great local dentist, staff were great. Great sense of humor which is important with a dentist. Looking forward to my next visit.

Had to get my fiancé in, and he hates the dentist… but he actually really liked Dr. Paulerio and his staff! They even opened up early to squeeze us in! I think I will be switching over to a new dentist!

Dr. Paulerio is the nicest guy AND the best dentist you could hope to have. I am always very impressed with how he stays up on the cutting edge of technology, hires very knowledgable and caring staff, and is such a great person. My previous dentist in Claremont Mesa was like attending a cross between a cattle call and what I imagine seeing the prison dentist must be like…
I can’t recommend Dr. Paulerio highly enough!

I’m in the waiting room reading a nice assortment of magazines published this month (a rarity in most doctors offices). My wife is getting her teeth cleaned.

The staff is in fact super friendly. There are always parking spots. The doctor is very nice. My wife had her wisdom teeth taken out here and she was in a lot of pain. I came down here and explained the pain situation to the doctor and he happily obliged my request for stronger drugs for my wife.
Summary: Friendly staff, great building, and is led by a great doctor who genuinely cares about making sure you’re happy/​comfortable.
Easiest 5 stars I’ve ever awarded.

Dr. Paulerio is skilled and efficient! He and his staff are very pleasant — and they do show they care for their patients — they are willing to work with you — for schedule and more. And their equipment is state-​of the-​art! My beautiful crown was made on-​site in minutes!

I was one of Dr Paulerio’s first patients when he joined this practice with the previous Dr, and he has always been exceptional. He is very gentle when working on my teeth, and makes sure that my problems with a high tolerance to pain medication doesn’t cause problems when getting my teeth numbed. The staff is always interested in what is going on in their patients’ lives, and really gets to know each patient personally. Diana is more than just a receptionist, she is a genuinely caring person who wants to make sure you have the best experience possible while there. Everyone I have come across is very friendly, and they are willing to work with you if you have a legitimate financial problem and need to work out a payment system. I have recommended Dr Paulerio to ALL of my friends who need a good dentist, and will continue to do so.
The only downside is they don’t take medi-​cal or medicare. Other than that, no complaints! My entire family (30+ people, all over San Diego) travel to Point Loma to see him!
