Colette, my hairstylist is an amazing and talented hairdresser. I always feel great when I leave the salon. She is an expert at all aspects of hair design. Her intuitiveness always ends with an excellent result I really love her she’s a wonderful person and so very kind and sweet.

I have gone to Lynnel for several years. She is the best hair stylist I have ever had. I always get a lot of compliments on my cut and color. My husband and mother in law also go to her and are very happy.

I have been getting my hair cut and colored by Lynnel for over 18 years. After trying several beauty salons where the professionals promised they knew how to cut curly hair and charged me very expensive prices, I gave up the hope of ever finding a hair stylist I could trust. I was referred to Lynnel by a friend after I always complimented her on how wonderful her hair looked. I was not disappointed! Anyone who has curly hair knows it can be difficult to cut and manage. Lynnel has always listened to my concerns about my hair and gives me suggestions about how to keep it healthy. The salon has such a friendly environment-​people talking and laughing or clients just stopping by to says“hi”. Lynnel has a huge heart and always goes the extra mile to fit you in her schedule. She did my hair on my wedding day-​a day that can be pretty stressful. She made me feel so calm, we laughed a lot and I walked away feeling so beautiful! Lynnel is truly an angel in my life and I am so happy for her success!

Lynnel is number one, «Amazing» at what she does, & incredibly multi talented, surpassed only by her ability to multi task. She somehow manages to make everyone feel comfortable, as though they are part of the «family,» of locals, & provide you with an exceptional cut & color. All for a price that won’t set you back or stop any flights from taking off.
I personally make the two hour drive to see her specifically. Worth the visit, & I can assure you, you’ll keep returning, not only for the superior quality she provides, but for the comfort of her salon & atmosphere.

I purchased the Groupon for the full highlights, cut and deep conditioning with Joanna because I was trying to find a good salon that can actually do highlights well. Joanna did an AMAZING job with my blonde highlights. And she was super fast! I was in and out in 1.5 hours. I am a single mom so I don’t have time to linger around a salon all day, it was awesome. Joanne was very flexible and super friendly. I will defiantly be back to see her again.

I got my hair done by Joanna about a month ago. She was nice and very flexible with my schedule. When I went in I asked for brown hair color but it turned out red once i got home and it dried up. i went back in to get it redone but I still didn’t like what it looked like so I bought dye at a local beauty supply and died back to my original hair color. Personally I wished I would of done more research before I would of gone in.

Purchased a groupon for this salon after reading and hearing great things.
My groupon was for a cut and highlights with Jamie. It was very challenging to get an appointment with her that worked around my schedule. Finally when I was able to get one she text me the day of, a few hours before my appointment, to let me know she double booked clients with the other person she shares her chair with. I let her know I had an appointment for almost 2 weeks and really needed to come in. She text me days later with a date I could get my cut and highlights but by then I had already decided to take my business else where based on the poor customer service.
I would have loved to try this salon.

I found Tammi through a mutual friend just when I needed a new hair stylist/​guru. She saves me with her amazing perms, ultra smooth coloring blends and awesome haircuts that only need as much styling as I’m willing to give them (she totally gets me!). My teenage daughter trusts Tammi with her long locks and my mother makes special appointments when she visits from Texas. We wouldn’t be our glamorous selves without her!

I used a groupon for this place. While my experience there was fine, when I got home I realized that the cut wasn’t that great. I know my cut prior to this one was not perfect (so she had to fix it), but now I have a really short chunk of hair on the left side. Not pretty!

Of course once again Jamie has not let me down!!! We went A little more blonde this time and i couldnt be more in love with my hair! Im really glad that I was lucky enough to have found this place. The salon itself has a nice atmosphere, its relaxing and the customer service is beyond what I expected. When I come in for my appointment im always asked if i would like coffee, water, etc… its always nice to pamper yourself but it makes it all that much better when your have good company. =) Thank you Jamie!!! I gotta tell ya my hair turned out just as awesome as it did the first time, if not better!!! I definitely recommend checking this place out!

And she ended up charging me $ 64 and kept criticizing my hairstyle. too short here blah blah blah. Maybe the other stylists have more experience with all kinds of hair and hairstyles not Jamie. Plenty of better places out there.

I went into this salon because I have been seeing Collette for a while now at a different salon that recently closed so… this review is more about Collette than the salon itself. However, I must say that Lynnel’s is a cute location with trendy décor. Collette worked with me at a hair station that was kind of tucked away in the corner and it was nice to do some people watching while we gabbed. Also, Collette was awesome enough to work around my schedule, letting me come in the evening. We were literally the only people there and she didn’t mind at all that I was eating into her night (Thanks, Collette!)
So the reason I keep going back to Collette is because I have blonde hair that is somewhat fine. In the past years, two stylists from other locations have either not been able to match the color or left me looking like a canary. Not only does Collette get it right every time, but she remembers exactly what I need when I come in. When I came home this last Thursday my boyfriend said it was the best my hair has looked yet… but he says that every time I come home after an appointment with Collette so maybe its not fair to include that in my review. :) Besides just the color the styling is always great and my hair feels silky smooth for days.
As for the price, it was more than fair. I had been to a salon in Ocean Beach previously when I needed something last minute and couldn’t wait for Collette’s appointment. I will never ever do that again! I should probably not bad-​mouth the other salon, but suffice to say I went in for a root touch-​up, did not get a hair cut, and left with about $ 140 less in my pocket. Waaaaay overpriced.
Bottom line is if you head to Lynnel’s get an appointment with Collette: She has been doing hair for 10+ years, always makes great conversation and keeps me laughing, and knows how to make a return customer want to do just that: Happily return to her every time!!!

This review is specifically based on my experience with Jennifer Sparano. After struggling with my super curly hair for 38 years, I’ve come to terms with being a curly girl. Well Jen has made me love my hair even MORE! She is Devachan trained, and amazing at what she does! She not only cuts your hair, she teaches you step by step how to care for your hair. From products to styling. she was GREAT! I HIGLY recommend her to anyone with curly hair.

I had my hair cut at Lynnell’s about 8 months ago. Purchased a kgbdeal for a CUT with Tammy. Once I sat in the chair she immediately asked me who «colored» my hair. I told her I ususally do, her response? I guess you will not be a returning customer then. I told her I purchased the deal that was advertised for a CUT with Tammy and if she was a color specialist, she should have advertised that way. I got a marginal cut. I would not be surprised if she is not working there any more.

I found this place on accident. I had an appointment next door for a gel mani (Don’t got there!) I had time to kill and Joanna could take me right away. She was super friendly and engaged, I got a wash, cut and blow dry for $ 35! I feel i got much more than I paid for in this instance. All I ask was a few layers and all the dead ends cut off, what I got was a great style. Joanna did a great job. She let me go get my nails done and come back for the blow dry, and we sat and laughed at how bad the mani was. Will definitely go back!

Dennis Sparks is the best out there ladies and gents! He’s very talented, honest, personable and fun. Every time I leave from an appointment with Dennis, I leave feeling renewed and I get endless compliments on the work he does. The color is great and the cuts are fabulous. He’s always very honest with me about the crazy directions I want to take my hair, and will caution you against anything that will damage your hair. I also trust him to do any cut or color he wants to if I have no direction in mind.
The shop itself is very open and welcoming. Lynnel’s décor makes the salon feel like home and all of the stylists are friendly. I was recently in there and they had Girl Scout cookies for sale displayed by the refreshment area which I think is so awesome because they were helping a customer’s daughter reach her fund raising goals.

Tracee is the best! I always walk looking a mess and she transform me. I love how patient and thorough she is. She shows you the colors before adding to your hair, and she walks you through the whole process. She is always available and willing to work with my schedule which is a plus! Lynnel’s studio is always nice and clean and has a great relaxing vibe. Call for Tracee today and you will not be disappointed!!!

I’ve been here twice for the Brazilian blowout and have loved it both times.
I was very impressed with the product and loved the outcome for my hair! The process took about 2 hours but the time flew. Mr. Dennis Sparks does a hellva job! He’s very nice n easy to talk to and is easy to look at!

I had a wonderful experience at Lynnel’s Hair Design. I went in needing a color correction from a mortifying highlighting experience elsewhere and came out delighted with the final result here. The salon was trendy, clean and a comfortable place to be.
Tracee is amazing! She was able to get me in on just a few days notice and did a great job on my hair. She is so friendly and professional and even took time to explain the different haircare products that I could purchase from them.
