History

Established in 1992.

The Manchester Grand Hyatt was first built in 1992 with one tower, 40 stories high. The second tower was built in 2004, reaching 33 stories high. The Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego is the tallest waterfront hotel on the west coast and boasts 2 signature restaurants, 3 bars/​lounges, 2 grabngo style delis, a full service Kin Spa and salon, sauna and steam room, 2 pools (1 adults-​only pool), Jacuzzis, 4 sports courts, a 24-​hour StayFit gym, a FedEx Office, gift shop and 125,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, including one of the largest ballrooms in San Diego.

Executive Chef Suttichai «Sutti» Sripolpa:

Chef Sripolpa has been with Hyatt Hotels & Resorts for over 20 years and has served as the Executive Chef at the Grand Hyatt Dallas Fort Worth and most recently, the Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort in Austin. Previous Culinary experience includes positions in Las Vegas, La Jolla and Torrey Pines. Amongst other prestigious recognitions, Suttichai was named Chef of the Year for Hyatt Hotels & Resorts worldwide in 2006. Chef Sripolpa grew up working in the ins-​and-​outs of his family’s restaurant in Thailand. After moving to the states in 1985, Sutti reestablished his passion for cooking; exploring advanced culinary concepts and leadership roles. Although Sripolpa’s cooking background stems from Asian influences, his culinary strength and focus is truly global cuisine with local ingredients.
