Dr. Alberti believes in an ethical, conservative approach to dentistry. He spends quality time with each patient, is never rushed, tells the patient the truth and will never oversell or push a patient into unnecessary treatments. Dr. Alberti is a honest dentist. While a variety of restorative, preventative and cosmetic services are available (crowns, implants, cleanings, whitening, bridges, veneers, fillings etc) Dr. Alberti will utilize specialist referrals when needed. Root canals and oral surgery are best left to the specialists. Dr. Alberti concentrates on what he knows best, providing great general dentistry and healthy, bright smiles for his patients.

History

Established in 1996.

After graduating from Northwestern University Dental School (Chicago Illinois) Dr. Alberti moved to San Diego in 1989 and worked as a Dental Associate in Tierrasanta for 5 years. In 1996 he started his own private practice, Mario Alberti DDS, in La Jolla. In 2004 his office re-​located, one half mile east, to its current location on Executive Drive.

Dr. Alberti has been happily married to his wife, Lindiann, for 28 years. They have one son, Tony, who is now a graduate student studying nuclear engineering at Oregon State University.

I don’t normally write reviews, but I appreciate Dr. Alberti so much that I felt moved to encourage anyone looking for a dentist to pick the best one I’ve ever encountered. I have had both bad and mediocre experiences with other dentists. I’ve been going to Dr. Alberti since 1998 and he has always shown himself to be skilled, trustworthy, and caring. Each and every visit. It is really rare for a professional to be so consistently great at all aspects of his/​her job.

I’ve been going to Dr Alberti for years and I can say that he his definitely the best general dentist in San Diego. He sees his patients one at a time and works on them personally, instead of letting a less experienced dentist do the work. His staff is a pleasure to be around as well, and I always have a great experience overall. If you’re searching for a dentist that performs great work and won’t try to price gouge you, Dr Alberti is the dentist for you!

Look no further. This is probably the best general dentistry practice in San Diego. I have been a patient of Dr. Alberti’s for about 10 years now. He is always very pleasant and takes excellent care of your teeth. Like others have said, he will never try to sell you a lot of expensive and unnecessary procedures like some other dentists i had gone to — you can trust him when he tells you something. He is very gentle and highly competent, knowledgeable about developments in dentistry, and i would definitely trust him with any level of dental procedures. He even does the cleanings himself and is your primary caretaker for your visit, so there are no pushy hygienists like in some other places. The office is really nice and located in a LaJolla-​UTC professional park and is adorned with his own nature photography. Parking is no problem. ‘Nuf said, if you’re looking for a great dentist that will make you feel relaxed and that you can trust, just come here and you’ll be glad you did.

Dr. Alberti is the best! This is the ONLY 5 star review I have ever given and it is well deserved. I’ve been going to Dr. Alberti for almost 10 years now and he has always provided me with excellent care. He is attentive, always does the cleanings himself and never tries to gouge me by telling me I need extra services (unlike a different place I used to go to). He is NEVER overbooked so I never have to wait and his staff is very pleasant. In short, he is the best!
I came in today for a chip in the enamel of one of my front teeth. I’m kind of vain so this was a cause of major concern for me and Dr. Alberti fixed it perfectly. I couldn’t be happier!

Dr. Alberti is the best all around dentist I’ve ever been to. I have had a lot of dental work by various dentists over the years and he is my favorite. He is very knowledgeable, very experienced, conservative, balanced and a pleasure to visit. His wonderful «bedside manner» makes each appointment relaxed and stress free, no matter how involved the work being done. I am very happy to have found Dr. Alberti and plan to stay with him for the long haul!

I have been going to Dr. Alberti since I moved to San Diego in 2008. I’ve never disliked the dentist, but I’ve certainly never had such a nice relationship with my dentists before Dr. Alberti. It’s always a pleasure to stop in. It’s a very small office, so you see the same staff, are always greeted warmly, never have to wait for your appointment time, and are in and out in a very reasonable time frame. The available appointment times are great, and the office itself has a very warm feel to it, as well as being super clean and bright. I would recommend Dr. Alberti to absolutely everyone.

Mario is simply the BEST DENTIST I HAVE EVER BEEN TO. He is a dentist you can trust. I have found over the years that dentist are a lot like mechanics. I’ve gone to several that want to change out everything and charge me thousands of dollars. Mario is not like that. He finds whats’s wrong and fixes it; just that simple. Highly recommended!

Dr. Alberti is extremely professional and extremely pleasant to deal with. Agree with a previous poster that the front desk person doesn’t exactly go out of her way to get insurance questions answered, but that has nothing to do with the dental care.
My previous dentists included someone who insisted I needed a root canal that would cost major $$$ and when I went to Alberti, he said I didn’t need the work and was puzzled why that first quack said I did. He came to me by way of recommendation and I would recommend Dr. Alberti to anyone who asks.

Tried to schedule an appointment and the person on the phone was very UNFRIENDLY AND UNWELCOMING ! I tried to schedule an appointment but there were no Friday appointment, and I tried to get an idea if they would work with my insurance and she said «I have no idea about any type of fees».
If they are this unfriendly over the phone for potential new clients then I would not go to this dentist.
