Mel and Tim Photography

There is no family more picky about pictures than mine as I come from a family of photographers, so finding the perfect photographer was the hardest task for us. I was finally referred Mel +Tim by a local wedding coordinator and booking them was the best choice we made! Mel + Tim were not only extremely SWEET, COURTEOUS, PROFESSIONAL, and WONDERFUL to work with, but they PERFECTLY captured the tiniest of details, happy un-​posed moments, and the emotions, colors, and feeling of our entire day in their photos! When emotions got intense among my 50+ bossy family members at my wedding, Mel + Tim remained calm, cool, and professional. They took charge when they needed to, and took directions with a smile when they were asked. My family and friends have all commented on how sweet and amazing Mel + Tim were at the wedding and they all agree that I have the BEST WEDDING PICTURES EVER! I have 2 cousins who just got married and they paid twice as much and their pictures don’t even compare to mine by Mel + Tim! I am able to re-​live my entire wedding through Mel + Tim’s pictures of our day, there are moments and reactions they captured that I didn’t even notice when they happened — only a GREAT photographer can capture candid moments like that! Mel and Tim took beautiful images of all of the major moments of our wedding night. They captured every emotion of our wedding from the tears to the excitement. The two of them were never in the same place; they were constantly moving around and working hard. In addition, they are very nice people, and they are very affordable. Mel is super responsive over email. I highly recommend using them! Their online gallery software is also really easy to navigate and use.

We love Mel and Tim! We booked a wedding photography package with them which included an engagement photo shoot. We are so happy with our engagement photos and will cherish them forever.

It was such a pleaure to work with Mel and Tim! From our initial meeting, to the engagement shoot, to the wedding day, they were a breath of fresh air. They are a kind, creative, professional, and talented husband and wife team that strive to make your experience memorable.
We had never done a professional photo shoot before, so when it was time to do our engagement pictures, we really did not know what to expect. However, Mel and Tim made it so much fun and put us at ease! They gave us different posed postitions as well as caught us in our natural element, which was a nice balance. We had so much fun shooting with them, and we ended up going over our alotted time which was no big deal to them at all!
On our wedding day, they once again made us feel relaxed. When we did our first look pictures, they made sure to find the perfect location where we could be alone. After capturing the moment, they gave us a few minutes to ourselves to absorb the precious moment.
They really are the perfect team and compliment each other nicely. They have a true gift and made an incredible impression on us. We would definitely recommend Mel and Tim to anyone, and we plan to work with them again in the future! Thank you for everything Mel and Tim! This was by far the best photography experience I’ve ever had! My husband and I were in desperate need of a photographer to capture my baby bump and time was of the essence. Mel emailed me right away and was kind enough to fit me into her schedule. Not only was she talented, creative and professional, she was one of the nicest people we have ever met. She really took time to listen to what my husband and I wanted and our pictures turned out amazing. It’s hard to feel beautiful being nine months pregnant and Mel and made me feel like a million bucks:) I’m definitely going to use her and Tim for all of our future family photos.

Natural, creative, and über talented! Mel and Tim (big plus husband & wife team!) are a powerhouse. We secured their services for wedding and are SOOOOO happy with the pictures. The groom is a bit «shy» in front of the camera. Out of the blue, Tim starts playing reggae and J starts swaying to the beats. Melanie’s keen artistry & sense of calm is unlike no other. Together, they rock!!! Their intuitive nature, proactive communication, and oh-​so-​pleasant personalities stand out from the rest. Although this review might seem biased because I’ve known Tim for a while, you can’t ask for better photographers than Mel + Tim! From beginning to end, they were absolutely incredible to work with. They took a lot of care in capturing what was important to my husband and I for our special day, and also made it so comfortable for us. My immediate family is quite huge too and Mel + Tim were extremely patient and professional with handling the group formals which could have easily spiraled out of control! Not only is their work incredible but you will not meet a couple who are just genuinely good people like Mel + Tim. We can’t thank you enough!

Melanie is a true professional! She has shot two separate occasions for me. One was a fun couple shoot with my husband and the other was my baby shower. She is so sweet and patient. She knows exactly which shots to take and is super efficient! And she’s also great at directing her subject to capture the perfect pose. It’s amazing how many quality photos she is able to get in a single shoot.
And Melanie’s talents don’t end with her camera. Her service component is excellent as well. I am always shocked at how fast she has been able to send me proofs. She also has delivered my photos in personalized packaging. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND MEL & TIM PHOTOGRAPHY!

I learned about Mel and Tim Photography from CircleBuzz. I was worried they would not be able to fit us in for the holidays but Melanie worked around our crazy schedule and had the time slot we wanted. She took my three kids all over Balboa Park and got some really fun shots. My 3 year old usually has a fake smile but she was able to get really natural smiles out of him. Toward the end of the shoot, she gave them big punch balloons and had them play with them as she took pictures — then they got to keep the balloons. Really fun experience for all of us!

I used Mel & Tim Photography for my annual photoshoot for my son who just turned 2. I was a bit apprehensive about how my son with take to being photographed by a stranger but Tim was able to connect with my son in a way I’ve never seen before. He got my son to actually smile and pose for him, to sit down and stay still… I was amazed. Tim was a professional all the way and did a wonderful job of capturing my son’s personality. I would highly recommend Mel & Tim Photography. They were also able to process my photos and have them available for viewing online the very next day. I would definitely use them again in the future!
