I used to come here all the time before the newer, cheaper, and swankier karaōke places opened up. The place was remodeled with new furniture and it definitely looks a lot nicer than it used to. But this place is superr sketchy! It’s hidden away on the second floor. If not for a tiny lighted sign that flashes«OPEN» I would never have found this place! It’s especially shady at night when you have to pee, but you must walk past a bunch of smokers to get to a dirty restroom outside and down the hallway. This place does have tea drinks available that aren’t too pricey(and surprisingly, they’re actually pretty good!). The chinese song selection is really good and complete with real music videos! They do have more english songs than some of the other karaōke places. It’s just especially hard to find because the remotes never seem to have batteries in them. Oh! And they have a lot of country songs, if that’s your thing. Overall, not a bad place to karaōke, but there are definitely better places to go on Convoy.

I go here all the time with my friends because it is the cheapest karaōke place on Convoy. Thats also because it is the ghetto-ist. They redid their couches recently which is nice. Always take a partner to the bathroom. I think one time my friends thought they say blood in the bathroom. Pretty sketch looking place at night since its alllll the way at the end of Convoy. In terms of karaōke, their English selection is pretty expansive. The equipment isn’t bad. I come here often enough and I’ve never had a terrible experience. Everyone will have a good time.

How is this place still running? 1) The prices are DISGUSTINGLY high and ALWAYS changing. I don’t understand; why are the policy/prices always different every time I come in here(I’m not just talking about happy hour vs. non-happy hour either)? 2) They obviously put no thought into making the place look nice, and the rooms always smell like cigarette smoke and occasionally throw-up. 3) Last time I came here, they hadn’t updated the song selection since summer. Where are my new Wang Leehom songs?! Also, crappy English songs = disgruntled me.

Don’t expect too much if you go there. It’s like an office building w/many divided rooms, and each room has maybe 2 couches, a coffee table, a tv and a karaōke system. This place is very plain. It doesn’t have too much offer. It’s straight down to the point, just plain karaōke and no alcohol.

Place has improved massively. English song selection is now BETTER than Chorus. I’ve been going here on and off for about 3 – 4 years now, and they’ve always been really slack with song updates until now. I feel kind of bad for the owner cuz patrons tend to break stuff here alot – I’ve heard a TV was broken, I’ve seen multiple holes in the walls in the past(which they have fixed), and I’ve seen cigarette burns on the couches. Upkeep here is probably very expensive, but I think it probably hasn’t been nearly as bad since they don’t allow alcohol here anymore, but that also means nobody comes here anymore either. I don’t understand why they don’t get a liquor license.

This is a fun place to go hangout with your friends. They have the most complete Chinese song list in San Diego. At first I am not used to their LCD machine for picking the songs. After all I have been only using books to pick songs. After awhile I feel it is much more convenient. Their English selection are getting updated a lot recently. I like this place a lot.

This is the only karaōke place in San Diego that offers Chinese, Mandarin songs and a few English, Japanese and Korean songs. Not surprisingly, these songs are old and are not as up-to-date as the karaōke place in LA and SF. Happy hours are from 3pm-8pm everyday, customers are allowed to have one free drink. I have only been there for happy hours, so I am not sure how things work for night goers. I think there is a shift from 8pm –12am and sometimes overnight. If you go on Mon-Thurs, happy hours only costs ~$ 15(including service charge) per person. Fri-Sun will be about ~$ 22 per person. This place has been remodeled a few months ago. They have replaced the old stinky couches and have reset their prices. The flat-paneled TVs are really nice but the remotes and the table are often times sticky as people might have spilled drinks onto them. The rooms usually smell when you first walk in. Servers do not really serve the customers besides preparing drinks for us, though they charge a 10−15% service charge. It is definitely not worth going if it were not happy hours.

I’ve been to this location several times in the past two years. In the past, I have always had a positive experience. Actually, the first time I went to this location, I thought that it had a great atmosphere. Big flat-panneled televisions, comfy furniture, spacious lounge area with games and hanging out, and a clean interior. And during happy hour, a green or black tea is provided free of charge per person per room. The downsides were that if you don’t know exactly where it is, it is very hard to locate(it’s above Emerald Restaurant on the second floor and it doesn’t have a sign outside), and the bathroom is outside and is extremely dirty. However, I just came back from there a few minutes ago, and was so upset with their service that I made an official complaint to the owner. Well first off, when we arrived, there wasn’t a person at the front counter to welcome us. Then when we were finally brought into a room, we noticed that the table was sticky and the microphones were dented. Then, even before requesting our first song, we felt like the room smelt like smoke. We complained to the worker that the room smelt like smoke, in which he told us that he’ll come spray an air fresher to improve the air. However, he never came, but in a few minutes the ventilation system kicked in, and the room was fine. But the room began to smell like smoke once again, so just to clarify with the worker, I asked him specifically if it was a non-smoking facility. He then addressed the issue to another worker. She told me that it was a non-smoking facility, and then I realized she was standing next to a hand-written sign saying«no smoking» on it. She explained that it most likely wafted in from outdoor smoking activities. I assumed that because it was outdoors, that there was nothing more we could do. However, after a few more minutes, the smoke became unbearable, and I felt that there was no way that it was merely coming from outside. When my friend wanted to exchange her drink, she witnessed a customer smoking at the bar, with the worker there to assist there. The worker did not do anything to stop or warn the customer about the non-smoking regulations. I approached the worker, not wanting to assume that she did not do anything, and asked her if she could ask the customer to stop smoking, or to smoke outside. She said she would take care of it. However, the smoke in the room got so bad, we decided to leave, and when I asked the worker for her manager’s number she said she didn’t have it. Afterwards, she told me that the only number she had was on the business card at the bar, which she didn’t even bother to get for me. In addition, their songs were old and outdated not only in Chinese(their main selection of songs), but also English, Japanese, and especially Korean. Also, they charge a required $ 8 service charge per room(not advertised beforehand!!!), which I assume is probably an automatic and undeserved tip given to the workers. Overall, their quality has deteriorated tremendously, not only in their atmosphere, but in their service as well, where the workers lack the sincerity to try and keep their customers happy. If you are going to visit this facility, ONLY go during their happy hour, which I apologize for not being able to list here for your convenience.
