The food is generally good but they often run out of ingredients and their hours are all over the place. I’ll walk all the way over to west commons and they’ll be randomly closed. I have given them many opportunities and have eaten there several times and each time the customer service is awful. You walk up to the counter and immediately feel like you are bothering them. The concept is great but their operations and service are just too bad to ignore any longer

I love this place! It’s in the bottom of West Commons on SDSU and there’s three little parts to this family run business. There the Olive Oil Café where you can get regular and vegetarian sandwiches and whatever the soup of the day is. I love their tuna on sourdough. I get that extra toasted every time. I’ve even taken my family sandwiches from here my dad loves the Three Lil Pigs. I’m not gluten free so I don’t really eat the gluten free sandwiches that that they have but I love their pastries. Their chocolate mint brownie bar is the best! They also have a pizza place called Crust in the same area that’s their too. It is a little pricy but everywhere you eat on SDSU is pricy. And though it may be pricy the food is really enough for two meals.

My friend and I went to the Hillcrest farmer’s market. I ran to this booth since it is so rare to find food I can eat. The desserts are amazing and reasonably priced for gluten free. Except that $ 137 charge that was added. Thankfully my bank reversed the charge for me and is now issuing a new card. I would recommend the business educate their staff on how to use a credit machine.

When it’s only 4:00pm and they supposedly close at 7:00pm, really? –_– the workers saw me approaching, didn’t say anything, until after 5 minutes pass and then they say they’re closed. Honestly, get a sign and don’t advertise that you’re open till 7pm when you’re not. Other people approached them too claiming that online it said they’re open till 7pm. Worker said that its wrong, but when you look at their chalk board menu, the freaking says 10pm-7pm. From a very hANGRY girl.

I stop by the Olive Oil café stand every Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday during the farmers market to get my fix of the most decadent gluten free and vegan desserts. I have tried almost everything they sell and I am still blown away every time I try something new! Absolutely amazing guilt free goodness! After filling myself with all of their sweet treats… I got together with a friend and headed to SDSU to finally indulge in their raving food. We were greeted by the, ever so, stylish and bubbly Fran! And the rest of the staff were beyond helpful and friendly. After ordering two sandwiches(the Veggietales and the Bayaja something) and the Pumpkin Pie Chocolate Chip cake square, you’d think we’d be full right? Nope. We went on and ordered the Roasted Eggplant and hummus(which was my favorite and probably the best sandwich I had ever eaten), and the Grilled cheese Peanut Butter and Jam. Unbelievable how delicious their food is here! We thought we were in a dream. And all sandwiches can be veganized with the cashew based cheese made from the equally amazing local friend, Peace Pies. Olive Oil café is a sweet family owned business where every single member puts the upmost care into what their are serving. They pride themselves in providing you with a guilt free, mouth watering meal that makes your taste buds get all groovy with indescribable flavors! You can taste the love(and freshness) in every bite! Definitely recommend eating here a thousand times over. Now I am ready for a nap after eating 4 sandwiches! By the way, totally worth it. Love this place and love this beautiful family!!!

So apart from their actual location on SDSU every thursday they bring their food cart too, last Thursday I had a delicious spicy meatball subs, and I got to try one of their gluten free pastries, specifically the lemon one, WOW(for someone who has never tried gluten free– I like it). Back to the sub, it was melty cheesy and all together just complimented itself. I was a little skeptic on the flavor because it wasn’t a full on kitchen, but nope they don’t need one and their little griddle sufficed.

OMG!!! Delicious! I found the Gluten Free booth at the Hillcrest Farmers Market. I looked over the beautiful array of desserts and asked the man behind the counter which ones were– and I need all 4 qualities– gluten free, dairy free, corn free and soy free. He must also make them, because he knew all the ingredients. I chose a lovely Turtle chocolate cake. I’m so excited! I never get to eat dessert. And, this was delicious! It took me a few hours, but I finished it off. He tells me that if I call the bakery, they can make what I want, while avoiding the ingredients that I don’t want. They customize! I’m sure looking forward to my next trip to the Farmer’s Market. Gotta get another wonderful dessert! Ginger
