What Chinese restaurant does not have rice during lunchtime except at this fuckin San Diego establishment where a 10IQ qualifies as Mensa… what’s next – if I go to a steakhouse will they tell me they ran out of meat… when I asked how long I would have to wait for/cook rice I was told 20 minutes… take ownership of the problem and fix it you morons.

Gourmet Chinese Food… and super delicious. I know… It looks bad because I love this place. Sometimes, I just get the weakness for a good Panda Express and I don’t want to cook, so I come here! Their Orange Chicken is bomb. Mandarin Chicken is delicious… Mushroom and Chicken… sometimes a hit or miss. and the Sweet Walnut Shrimp, I wish was sweetier.

I’m a huge fan of Panda Express. Love the food, love that they provide healthy options, and love that they list the calorie information. That being said, this location is constantly running out of brown rice and their mixed veggies. The whole reason I choose Panda Express instead of China Too, Sarku, or Panda Inn is because of their brown rice option. Keep it stocked!

Although I don’t normally eat at Panda Express or even like the food, I just wanted to give a shout out to the excellent team that was staffing the counter this evening. Cam and I parked at the Horton Plaza structure, and decided that grabbing a quick bite at the food court before going to The Great Room Escape would be faster than sitting down at any of the restaurants in the surrounding area area. Since Great Khan’s was closed, Steak Escape too deep fried for me, and just not in the mood for Sarku, I decided to follow Cam into Panda Express. I ate a lot of Panda Express in college, so I’m never really tempted to go in anymore because the food is too greasy and doesn’t quite hit the spot that I’m looking for. I prefer the food court at Fashion Valley because there’s a Stone Oven that I can pick up a decent sandwich while Cam gets his orange chicken fix. We came in around 6:45pm and some of the warming trays were empty. I thought that was pretty weird, but when I asked if there would be any more string bean chicken, the staffer behind the counter told me that he could get some out in 5 minutes. Since none of the other dishes looked appetizing to me, we decided to wait. After about 5 minutes, the tray came out, but the manager took one look at the tray and told the staffer that he couldn’t serve it. At first I thought it was because he was going on his break, but it turned out that the cooks messed up the chicken — I think it was burnt. The staffer who initially helped us was extremely apologetic and offered us a free entrée. I initially told him that we were fine, but he insisted and we decided to get some chow mein. The manager also offered us a free large drink because of the hassle. I usually equate these chains with poor service and gross food, but the service tonight was definitely awesome. The food was lacking, but it got me through the night, although my stomach is a little upset from the grease.

Who even reads a Unilocal review for Panda Express? That’s kinda what I thought; they’re all the same. It’s a chain after all. I was wrong. This place is nasty. I’m not sure how they messed up the food so badly when they have a corporate overlord dictating every step of preparation but it fell way short, even by fast food chain standards. Also had a funny smell.

Pretty disappointed after coming here today, I’ve been to this location many times before and other locations as well and have never had a problem. Today it seemed there was a very high strung manager on duty, he was really taking over the line and driving the employees like crazy. Overall just making an uncomfortable atmosphere, and he was serving the food and only giving maybe half the portions that are usually served which was extremely disappointing considering a big reason why I go to panda express is for the nice size portions they give. I feel silly complaining about this but it was seriously a minuscule portion compared to what I have always gotten in the past from all different locations. Probably won’t go back if I see he is working. The manager may have been trying to do his job but I think it would be best for customers if he just takes a backseat next time and lets the fantastic employees do their job. EDIT: Oh yeah and no fortune cookies! WTF Panda?

My wife, 8 year old daughter and I came here the Friday of Comic Con 2014, around 630pm. The plan was to get our daughter something for dinner because 1) she was hungry and 2) our dinner reservation with a friend at a nearby restaurant wasn’t until 730pm and the menu wasn’t kid friendly. Hardly any line at all(which is important, as you will discover shortly). As frequent PE diners, we regularly purchase the kid’s meal for our daughter, which offers just the right amount of food. Stepping up to the counter, I tell the person, who happened to be the manager, that we wanted a kid’s meal. Unfortunately, I am then immediately told that they are not offering kid’s meals, just Panda Bowls, 2 item and 3 item plates ‘because of Comic Con.’ Confused, I say OK and then order a Panda Bowl. He then asks what size meal I want, to wit I reply nothing, which he looked very confused about. As we neared the register, another PE employee asks me what size drink we want. I reply Small, but then she tells me that they do not have Small today, just Medium and Large. Very frustrated at this point, I requested a Medium, knowing that, just like the Panda Bowl, it is just too much for our daughter. Sure enough, she eats and drinks about half of it, throwing the rest away. Very displeased, while our daughter ate, I noticed a break appeared in PE customers, so I took the opportunity to speak to the manager. I asked him why they removed the kid’s meal and small drink from the menu ‘because of Comic Con.’ His short reply was ‘to move people through.’ Confused, I asked how does removing smaller items help you get customers through faster… customers, I might add, that were fairly scarce at this time Friday evening. Again, he said, if we have fewer offerings, then the customers can make faster selections and move through the line quicker. Still, I didn’t understand the logic, especially given that the food selections didn’t seem to be limited, though I could be wrong. He added that during lunch time the line was outside and down the walkway, impacting the other businesses, so they needed to figure out a way to handle their customers quicker and this was their solution. To this I replied that I didn’t understand how forcing people to purchase larger, more expensive items(items that take longer to fill) made the line move quicker, rather it was just a form of up-charging and price gouging! In any event, the manager apologized for my displeasure and I figured that was that. However, a few minutes later, he came back over to me and offered to void our original purchase and then charge us the cost of the kid’s meal. Taking him up on his offer, he processed the transactions quickly, which I appreciated and thanked him. Still, I do think that the decision by this PE management team was faulty and nothing more than greedy! PE Corporate will be getting an email from me about this!

It’s just like every other Panda Express, except the people working are always super nice to me. Great customer service, by helping me reach all the condiments and if I ask for a sample they are kind enough to bring it around to me because I cannot reach up due to physical limitations set by sitting in this stupid damned wheelchair. Also, I like coming to this once because of the turn around time for food. Most locations set in strip malls aren’t busy enough so I tend to get some item that is past its prime and the heat lamps/steam table has taken its toll on the super«authentic Chinese» Americanized food. They have to rotate the food quite a bit due to high volume so the food is most often«fresh» if you know what I mean. The people working are very good at throwing everything in the bag for me including napkins and condiments, not forgetting the plastic fork either. So far my experiences here have been positive.

Who closes 15 minutes before the time posted on their front door? Where’s the customer service that’s in your mission statement? Psshh. Later panda.

I just used this location for catering/party trays this past Friday. I placed my order a couple of days ahead of time and when I walked in to pick it up it was just being put in the trays. It was super fresh and hot and came with plates, napkins, utensils and serving spoons/tongs for the chow mein. If you are interested in their food for a party, this location is spot on.

I always go here for a quick meal before work. But most of the people I know on this place are gone. I’m right next to the old lady on the line and the manager is yealling the old lady about the price:(I feel so bad and that girl is talking so loud in calling the kitchen on what to cook so annoying!

My GF wanted to try the Kobari beef modeled after Korean BBQ so we went and she liked it! She said it like Korean BBQ but don’t have to cook themself and besides easier and not smoky smell!!! She also get vegetarian eggroll because she is vegetarian but she eat it before picture :-( I have more self control and get the combo with lo mien noodle and Beijing beef and honey walnut shrimps’s And i really enjoy the flavor. This my favorite place to go for authentic good food in Horton Plaza the food always good and the girl cute who serve me and not make it obvious the flirting so the best that it gets. I definitely recommend the Kobari beef and the Beijing beef I prefer the noodles to the rice and sometimes i get the cream cheese wonton also with sweet and sour sauce I am only going to eat here from now on

I’ve only been here a few times but my experience here has been enjoyable for the most part. Whenever I eat at Panda I always get the white rice with chow mein combo with a double order of kung pao chicken and it always tastes great. I’d recommend this place. The only thing that bothers me is that sometimes the checkout cashiers are very reluctant to give you a fortune cookie and/or napkins even though they are free and you have to ask for it everytime which is annoying.

My boyfriend and I normally eat at Panda Express a couples times a month because 1. I live so close 2. it is very convenient when we are starving and 3. the food is delicious. The other day we decided to go to panda after a very intense workout. I hadn’t eat anything all day and was starving after working out for an hour and half. I began to feel hot and dizzy while waiting in line. Then my vision began to go black. I told my boyfriend I didn’t feel good and then the weirdest thing happened, I collapsed to the ground and fainted. Yes, people I fainted inside Panda Express! The people that worked there above and beyond made sure I was ok. I was out of it for a couple seconds and my boyfriend caught me as my knees gave out. All the employees kept asking if I was ok. I became conscious again and could start to see and hear. An employee pulled out a chair for me to sit on by the door so I could get air. The woman behind the register brought me cold water to drink and then had me drink some green drink high in sugar. The lady behind the counter began handing my boyfriend different types of meat, chicken, and shrimp on toothpicks to feed me. Everybody working that day was so nice about what happened and wanted to make sure I was ok. Thank you to the ladies of Panda Express for taking such good care of me and making sure I was ok! I feel horrible about what happened! I love everything about the panda, from the very friendly staff to the delicious food!

Dear Panda Express, Can you please stop trying to disguise Mexicans as Asians? You’re not fooling anyone. Love ya always, Michael. The food at Panda Express is sort of like crack: You crave it when you don’t have it, but when you have it, you feel like you are doing something wrong. That’s because it is so delicious but then just sits in your stomach like a sandbag at the bottom of a well. The Orange Chicken gets all the accolades here, but really there are some other all-stars that deserve a starting role in my to-go box, namely the Kung Pao Chicken, Crispy Beijing Beef, and the Sweet and Sour Pork. All go nicely with a side of fried rice or chow mein, if you’re into that sort of thing. I certainly am. Steer clear of the egg rolls and such, they are just tricky fillers of a side dish. Get a third entrée instead, and make it the Chicken with Mushrooms. Overall, the food is consistently good and – while it is technically fast food – it tastes healthier than it probably is. Just ask the non-Asian people that work there.

How do I review a Panda Express at a Shopping Mall Food Court? It’s not like I’m going to say anything profound or surprising. So here’s what you already know: 1) It’s not authentic Chinese — it’s entirely Americanized 2) It’s not healthy — it’s fast-food for cryin’ out loud 3) It’s in a mall food court, so there is no table service or ambiance Besides, if you’re at a mall, standing in a food court, you aren’t going to be looking it up on Unilocal to help you decide. But here’s what I can say about the place: It tastes pretty good. The service area was clean. The service people were friendly and efficient. At 6:30 pm there were a couple pans of food on the service line that were empty and showed no signs of being refilled. That’s about all there is to it.
