My husband brought our dog in last week due to stomach issues, and the vet immediately diagnosed it as pancreatitis. The diagnosis was spot on — we followed her instructions and our dog is 100% better! The staff was very thoughtful and caring — they even gave her a «Certificate for being Brave» and put her in a cute Christmas dress :). Thank you for curing our baby!

I noticed my four year old lab mix had yellow eye goop that looked worst as the day progressed. My vets office was closed already since it was 8pm on a Saturday. I called PetSurg and was pleasantly surprised to find Dr Jones on the phone. Dr Jones suggested I take my dog in. I was concerned about the ER cost. But fortunately, it was the same price as a usual vet visit. I was so glad I took my fur baby in. Dr Jones was so nice and concerned. The follow up call the next day… By Dr Jones herself was great. Also when I told Dr Jones I was having trouble putting the steroid cream in my dogs eye, she offered a number of detailed suggestions– and they all worked! Based on my overall experience with Dr Jones and PetSurg, I am considering changing my dogs vet.

My dog has been here three times during the past year. Yeah, we’ve gotten to know this place real well.
Fortunately it wasn’t for anything major but either way it’s been a pleasure to acquaint with Dr. Jones and staff. It’s a relief that if anything happens to Jenny we can bring her here and receive quality treatment.
Thank you everyone at Petsurg — I appreciate all you do but I hope it’s a while before we see each other again :)

A previous vet informed us that my dog had patella laxation. I went to PetSurg to ask about the price of a surgery for patella laxation, but right off the bat they refused to give me even an estimate. Instead, the assistant (who had a horrible, indifferent attitude) insisted that we weigh the dog. She apparently weighed her on the scale, but when I asked her the dog’s weight, the assistant merely clicked a button on the scale and told us, «8 pounds.» I had already weighed our dog before the visit, and she was at least 14 lbs. Obviously the assistant, with her unprofessional attitude, told me the weight of a prior victim just to answer my question.
Afterwards I met with the vet, who touched my dog a bit and concluded that she had patella laxation, which I already knew! Not to mention, the vet herself also had a perpetual frowny face.
Then the lady charged me $ 98 for what, a consultation that told me nothing that I didn’t know already? After all this, the vet finally told me an estimated price of the surgery, which of course was ridiculously expensive.
I do not recommend this place at all; if I could give negative stars, I would!

My poor dog collapsed on a walk and was non responsive. It was horrifying! I rushed her to the closest emergency room I could find. There was another one just a smidge further, but I had no idea I’d regret this one sooo much! I didn’t have time to look up reviews or do research! But the other posts about this one are true, it’s a terrible, smelly, unhappy place! Now, mind you, I’ve just posted glowing reviews for 3 other vet offices today (my dog’s been really sick and had a lot of testing this week). In fact, I’m not usually one to post negative stuff at all, but looking back on the week and the gratitude I have for 3 other vets made me really feel more agitated about the bad experience here. There was VERY LITTLE SHE DID THAT WAS ACCURATE FOR THE CARE OF MY DOG. Everything she said was proven incorrect by further testing elsewhere. She said my dog had fluid on her stomach, ran X-​rays and gave stomach medicine — that all turned out to be inaccurate. The only thing she did that was accurate was a cool bath and IV fluids. But that, combined with the worthless X-​rays & unnecessary stomach meds, scored $ 900 for her pocket. She was impatient and unsympathetic of both my emotions and my fear for my dog or any billing concerns I had. She did a great job of just hustling me through her patent process and making me feel a fool for anything but approving the bill. If you look at the other bad reviews, you will find this is business as usual for her. After being in a total of 4 different offices this week, I realized this is the only location where the vet and the staff seem unhappy. It was the most uncaring environment. And what’s with the heavy smell of urine? None of the other places have that! In responses to other bad reviews she chalks it up to a busy emergency room. I chalk it up to under staffed. It seems pretty clear to me that she is an unhappy, money fearing or oggering person that is caught up in making money versus spending it properly to comfort patients and grow her business organically. She seemed stressed and impatient with everyone. In fact, here is what I said in a text to a friend while I sat in her office in the middle of the night trying to pick up my dog…
«This vet’s office is THE WORST! No respect or regard for client feelings. It’s the middle of the night, I’m the only one here and the doctor is taking her sweet time finishing up paperwork. I can hear her in the other room! Earlier today she was insensitive to my worry about Dehlila, impatient with my questions & inconvenienced by my worry about affording the bill.»
Horrible!

Would give 0 stars if possible.
1. Disorganized. I had to call from the waiting room to remind them I had been sitting for over an hour after check out for them to give me my pet to leave after 4 hours there.
2. Filthy waiting room and exam room. Clients had to clean up another dogs dripped blood on the floor so no one slipped. Vet and tech both aware of it but did nothing.
3. Overcharging? Invoice lists procedures and medications but doesn’t indicate cost of each. $ 40 over estimate with no explanation.
4. Lack of concern for pet or clients comfort and well being. Held ill rabbit in overheated exam room and in back while dogs were barking and crying for over an hour without regard to the stress it put on an already sick rabbit!
I highly recommend seeing another practice!

I brought my 1 year old kitty Zed into PetSurg after he ate more than 10ft of really thin abrasive string that tied up his intestines. Cats may love to play with string but it’s a lethal toy for them since they can’t digest it. I learned this the hard way.
The surgery was expensive no matter where I went (almost 4k) but I couldn’t really put a price on my furry baby love, so we had to go through with the surgery or it would have cost his life.
These times have been really stressful for me but knowing that my cat was in good hands and having the amazing team at PetSurg help us both along the way is really what mattered most.
I met about 3 people who worked at the front desk and as an assistants, they were all super friendly and compassionate. Dr. Diana Jones is more on the serious side and she is a GREAT veterinarian!
So appreciative for Dr. Jones saving my furry baby’s life. Today he got his staples out and he is as happy and playful as he was before the surgery. This will definitely be his main medical clinic now.

Diane Jones and her team looked after our 15 year old, very loved, Pomeranian who we had to put down after, he had a stroke and several seizures. She was so kind and supportive and made him feel very loved and comfortable during his last moments.
Extremely professional and compassionate. I would highly recommend her!

Dirty.
Took my pet into a room where another animal had just been. We could have waited for it to be cleaned by no that wasn’t an option. I was unimpressed that they were to examine her on a dirty blanket. I went to take my pet away but I was told that it was okay they would take her out the back and examine her there as yes the room did need cleaning. Nurse then had some sort of vacuum right next to my cat !!! Terrified animal who is sick in a dirty consult. No no no! Doc then tried to quickly exam her after I said we were leaving.
Good grief! I removed my pet and took her elsewhere. No surprise there.

Dr. Jones and her staff are very knowledgeable and caring. I’ve have taken my dogs here multiple times and trust their opinion and fair prices. Can’t ask for more from a vet.

Brought my cat, thumper in, after noticing he couldn’t open his left eye. Worried, anxious about having to bring my pet to an ER for the very first time… how much was the bill going to cost? Will my cat be able to see again? The Hispanic staff gentleman (sorry I don’t remember his name!), was kind and attentive. Dr jones didn’t initially care to introduce herself… Which of course didn’t ease any of my worries either… Not really knowing who will be taking care of my furry friend. Moments later… Dr jones eventually stepped out and explained what was going on. She may not be the warmest doctor like what other reviewers have mentioned– but she definitely got the job done. I would definitely come back to the same hospital should another incident come up– its a relief knowing they’re open ²⁴⁄₇! Dr jones and staff, Thank you for taking care of my cat!

This veterinarian was absolutely atrocious! My mother and I took our 10 year old boxer in for excessive vomiting after she had gotten into some dirty diapers. It had been several days since the diaper incident, so we weren’t quite sure if that was actually causing the problem or if our dog had an obstruction.
From the moment we walked in, I was unimpressed. This place smelled like urine the floors were filthy.
Regardless, I tried to remain optimistic.
Dr. Jones first stated that we needed x-​rays and blood work to determine the cause of Tia’s Illness, which seemed odd to me that she would want to do both instead of ruling out a foreign object obstruction before doing blood work too. Seemed to me if she took the Xrays and they clearly showed an obstruction the blood work was really unnecessary, which is exactly what we told her. She seemed annoyed that we wanted to try to keep the bills down and only run blood work if our Xrays came back clean.
Fast forward to the viewing on the Xrays which she stated that Tia had a soft density mass that she could not identify in her stomach. Word for word Dr. Jones said, «well if you turn your head at an angle and view the Xray from this side, you can kind of IMAGINE, there might be a large mass of something right here.» So basically, you have no idea if there is or isn’t anything or are you just trying to convince us that we need to run another $ 150+ worth of blood work?
We chose to run the blood work and find out if anything else might be going on, if possibly the «imagined» mass was a tumor etc. The blood work came back clean, except for elevated Kidney numbers.
Now here is where I began to agree with my mother about this lady being a total waste of time. She stated to my mom that our dog should be put on a Kidney diet, and when my mom inquired as to what a Kidney diet was, the vet replied, and I KID YOU NOT word for word, «Kidney Food.» Holy crap, no joke? REALLY? How about what is Kidney food, is it prescription, can you get it at your local pet store? Is it homemade? I was appalled at her response and tone.
So now our bill is about $ 350-​$ 400 considering the office fee, etc. We still haven’t been told anything concrete or given any options on how we should proceed to find the answers. We were simple told, well it could be an obstruction, it could be a tumor, etc. But Dr. Jones wouldn’t state any specifics on her recommendations from this point forward aside from well Tia needs fluids, she is dehydrated. We asked how she knew Tia was dehydrated and she stated she took a look at her Gums, which I call BS on because Tia wouldn’t even let her family open her mouth up and look, let alone a stranger. However we agreed and asked the charge and process. Dr. Jones stated Tia would need 12hr of fluids totally $ 269. We asked if there were other options for fluids and she reluctantly stated, «Well we can put fluids under her skin on her back, and its called a camel hump, but its normally a procedure for cats.» I called her out on this and said, «they just did this for my puppy a couple of weeks ago.» She of course backtracked.
At this point I had enough. Dr. Jones was clearly trying to rack our bill up rather then attempt to solve the problem, which is exactly what I told her. I told her I hadn’t once heard any recommendation on how to treat Tia, only ways to treat the symptoms. I asked her what her recommendation was to actually treat the illness, and what the diagnosis was, she stated, «normally if you hadn’t come in here saying you didn’t want to do surgery I would have stated that exploratory surgery was the next step to determine the mass in her stomach, but you don’t want to do that.»
Finally, we said enough is enough, and demanded our dog back, she tried to guilt us, acted like we were endangering Tia’s life by choosing to take her to another vet. When she realized we weren’t going to cave she gave us free medicine that another lady had left behind, and stated it was everything we needed to treat Tia. Funny, thought you didn’t know what was wrong.
We ended up taking Tia to our trusted Veterinarian the next morning who was able to determine, without EXPLORATORY surgery, that it was not a blockage. She simply gave Tia a medicine that would coat the tummy and make her go poop. She said if the medicine did not come back out, clearly Tia had a blockage, if it did, then Tia had pancreatitis. It was pancreatitis and all medicine we were given the night before could treat it. Funny, seems Dr. Jones knew all along, but chose to stack the bill and wanted to perform unnecessary surgery. She is Rude, and a crook! DONT GO HERE!

They treating our English Bulldog with care during his 2 surgeries. Everything went well but of course we were left with a hefty bill at the end. They do offer a credit card if you can’t afford to pay everything up front.

Staff was friendly… But WHO CARES! Did any of you not see/​smell the place??? Filthy. I can’t imagine animals are going into surgery at this place. The second you walk in the smell of cat piss burns your nostrils… Hair alllll over the floor, including in examine room.(this was at night with no one at the place, they should have had time to clean up). My dog peed on the floor and they didn’t bother cleaning it up. An ER should be one of the most sterile places and this was anything but!

My French Bulldog had an emergency c-​section and as always dr. Jones did a remarkable job. I was holding off on trimming her nails since she was so close to labor and I did not want to stress her out and I totally intended to ask them to do it while she was under but I forgot. I got home and as I remembered I noticed they already did her nails. Thank you doctor jones and all your staff.

I have to say an honest THANK YOU to dr. Jones and her team for taking such good care of Dexter when he was rushed in by me for an allergic reaction to a be sting. (Didn’t know it was that until dr. Jones took care of him immediately and then let me know later!)
He could’ve died, and I’m so grateful that they knew exactly what they were doing. Yes, it’s true, as the other reviews said, that maybe she wasn’t the FRIENDLIEST person ever… but you’re not going in for a manicure. It’s a Pet ER, you’re taking your pet in because it’s an emergency and it absolutely cannot wait for them to go to a vet. She’s doing her job, and she’s doing it good. I actually believe a good doctor is less emotional and thinks and works rationally and uses the best judgement during times that even a moments notice makes a huge difference.
Not to mention they also gave dexter the cutest «certificate of bravery» and I so love it and think it’s adorable. You can tell the ladies that work there really love what they do. I only wish that the kennels they keep the dogs in smelled a bit better because now that dexter is back home, he smells like a really bad version of wet dog, and I don’t want to wash him yet because he’s already been though so much the past few days. Then again, they’re not a 5 star dog hotel so you can’t get everything.

Outstanding service and extremely professional. Our 2 month old was neutered and was taken care of really well. We were referred to this facility from our dog trainer. I’m so glad we came here. We went to North County Spay and Neuter off of Poway and were so unhappy with that establishment. I love it that this place is 24 hours! The associates were attentive to detail. I had a lot of questions and the lady wasn’t bothered by any of them. The pricing is great. They give you a San Diego discount. Make sure to mention that. I also love the certificate that they give you once your pet is fixed.

Brought in our dog around 11 pm last night after she was showing signs of a possible bladder infection. Love that this place is just down the street from our house, so it’s very convenient in the event of an emergency. Dr. Jones was great. She explained everything carefully and laid out the itemized costs for us. The exam itself was only $ 65, comparable to a regular vet visit. We also paid for fluids, urinalysis, antibiotics, and prescription dog food. The total was about $ 150 less than the last time we took our dog in for a UTI at a different vet office, and we didn’t get prescription dog food the last time.
They ended up needing to keep Luna overnight (free of charge!) since they couldn’t do a urinalysis until after they gave her some fluids. My husband picked her up this morning at 8 am. They even sent him home with a Certificate of Bravery with a photo of our dog on it. Really cute touch!
This will definitely be our go-​to, late night pet ER (hopefully not any time soon, of course).

Dr Jones and her staff were sooooo nice and attentive. We knew we made the right choice in taking our Teddy to you guys. We loved the follow up call to see how he was doing, goes a long way! We will be sure to refer our friends and family. Thank you so much again!
In regards to price, they were pretty competitive from what I know my vet would normally charge. Thank goodness they are open on Sundays and ²⁴⁄₇!!!

Dr. Jones has saved the lives of many of my rescue animals. She generally has a good prognosis as to what the problem they are having is. She has a 24 hour facility that is open even Christmas Day. I am glad that we are able to get the assistance we need when an animal is in distress. My only complaint is that I feel there should be a better process for accepting payments for animals that are rescued as not all of us can obtain care credit etc… Aside from that I am very happy with the care my animals have received.
