Platt college is amazing for so
Many reasons but here’s my top 3:
1.small class sizes for 1 on 1 attention, you and your classmates grow together and embark the journey together.
2. Cutting edge technology. This school has the highest quality computers, software, beautiful clean learning environment. Very deluxe. I always felt like I had the world of knowledge at my fingertips.
3. Hands down the best teachers ever. You actually get to know your teachers very well and they’re so helpful and great at their job. They gave me the confidence in my own student work and skills to prolong my own quest of forever growing learning.
Overall I have to say your success relies on yourself and how much you are passionate in these fields.
I graduated back in 2006 in the web program. Platt found me a web industry job while I was going to Platt in level 4. I was already working in the field before graduation and enriching my learning. Platt helped me grow so much, I still enjoy keeping in the loop with platt through social media etc.

I enjoyed going to Platt. I finished the graphic design program. 6 months prior to my graduation, I found a paid internship job on the job board. I applied and got the job. The internship turned into a full time graphic design job for an agency. The agency took me under their wing and refined the skills I learned at Platt. It’s since been 10 years and now I’m very happy with my work and income. Thanks Platt.

I’m 38 years old professional photographer and designer. I am very artistic and do not respond well to math, analytical thinking and coding!!!
I’ve always wanted to be a webdeveloper ever since the late 90’s but always feared back-​end coding so I settled in joining the military, photography and graphics design on the side but I really wanted to be a webdeveloper so after my military contract ended, I enrolled and took their associates degree using my GI Bill and see if their web classes are going to be a great for me and since were required to do the intro to web I managed to get an A thanks to the continued support of the instructors and portfolio advisors. The instructor, Mr Fred Winton is very very patient and kept his eye out on those who struggled and I was one of those who did (and still is). I did really great and received my Associates degree with honors. I’m now on term 4 majoring in Web. Still struggling but getting good/​decent grades. I’m just taking it one day at a time.
Not too long ago I was found on
and landed an on call freelance job working for the biggest advertising firm in San Diego and worked on last year’s NYC Marathon for Asics America brand. It is a short and temporary startup job but this school continues to keep my inspiration and motivation high to keep excelling in my chosen new career. Platt college also gave me college credits for my military training and previous out of the country college units I took.

Do not attend this glorified trade school!
I attended this school and received very, very poor training! At the time their admissions department lied to me, saying that they offered an accredited, transferable degree which was completely false! If you want to continue your education down the road you are completely out of luck, you will have to begin your education from scratch; not even community colleges will take their transfer credits! They are trade school accredited not college accredited.
I went massively into debt attending this school then tried to continue my education and no reputable college would accept their trade school accreditation… Also, they had a very poor reputation in the industry, which made it nearly impossible to find work. Attending this «college» has been by far the worst mistake of my adult life! Poor training, massive debt and trade school accreditation. More than ten years later I am still paying for this scam, it has caused me and my family massive grief!
If you have attended this school there are laws protecting you however there are statutes of limitation, contact an attorney immediately!

I’m in my last quarter of the bachelors program for web, and I have to say as my first college experience, Platt has been pretty amazing and a great fit.
They made the transition from active duty sailor to full time student exceptionally easy, the military liason pretty much handled all of my paperwork and I have yet to have a lapse in my benefits due to the year-​round school schedule on top of the monday-​friday classes. Win win! I had a very frustrating experience when first shopping for schools at the local community college where the liasons offered no help and all the classes I wanted to take were severely impacted.
The school is what you make of it, this is a design school. If you want to breeze through the classes and turn in work on time, you’ll get a degree. But you won’t get a job. This is about getting tons of experience with the programs you need to excel and be comfortable in (Adobe creative suite) and platforms needed (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, php, WordPress, ect.) for coming out with a killer portfolio and real knowledge to work the next day after graduating. The teachers that I have had, particularly Richard, Fred, Melissa and Julio are exceptional in their passion for teaching and knowledge.
The classes are small, no more than 30 students at a time so if you need help, you’ll get it. Because this is a smaller, more intimate school, you will not get the luxuries of the big rival off of Mission Gorge. No student lounges, no lockers, no «clubs», and no endless parking lots to get lost in. If you get here early, you’ll get parking. If not, you’ll walk a block. Stretch those legs! But you will get to know everyone here, and there are tons of events that really bring the students together including monthly events held in the courtyard for holidays, trips abroad, opportunities to showcase your art at local exhibits, and discounted tickets to local plays and musicals.
Also, most of the GE courses are geared for the more artistic mind, so most of them are really fun and enjoyable. If you have the pleasure of having Marketa or Bernie as your teacher, you’ll be truly wowed by their boundless spirits and incredible personalities.
If you’re a hard worker with skills and a creative eye, and you want to learn how to be a graphic or web designer in less than 2 ½ years, this is the place to be. As a soon to be alumni, please feel free to message me if you have any questions!

I am updating my review for Platt College. Overall this school’s web program is good. The teachers for the web program are excellent. Fred and Melissa are by far my favorites who have kept me inspired and taught me so much more than what the program entails. I did have an issue with a teacher that left a bad taste in my mouth with how the school handles those situations. The general ed classes are very easy and practically impossible to fail. The parking lot is small so you have to get here early to get parking, otherwise you need to park on the street or in the church parking lot.
I finally got a job offer after a month from when I finished all of my classes… so don’t expect to get hired right away. Career services does try to help you, but you also need to be proactive in job hunting.

The best summer camp I have been in. I do not know how their legitimate classes go at this school since I was only there for the Summer Camp, but guessing by the camp — it must be a great school.
This summer camp really opened my eyes into what I am really capable of. The teachers that we had inspired and gave their knowledge to us. Before this summer camp I thought that I have no talent in art whatsoever. But when we sat down behind the computers and started working on our videos, I found an inner bonding with what I was doing. Then we started clay modeling, that was fun but even better was that we could input the skills we learned from the hands on clay to an application called «Z-​Brush». WOW I had so much fun. Oh, and I cant forget about the lunches! They treated us with lunch everyday, we had gourmet sandwiches, pesto pasta,“Taco Tuesday” homemade tacos, and much much more. Thank you Platt staff for having such a great idea! Looking forward to next year.

I just completed my very first class at Platt in Typography and I loved it! Jim is an excellent teacher and always available if you need help. From what I hear, the rest of the teachers are just as good. I am on track to achieving my Bachelors in Web Developement with an associates in Graphic Design in just over 2yrs!
If you’re looking for a great education in web, graphics, animation, visual effects, or digital video production in San Diego or California, this is the only school that should be on your radar… seriously! Its awesome!

Contrary to belief, bigger is not better. Especially when it comes to your education. Platt College is the definition of excellence in giving its students the knowledge they need to achieve their goals. Coming from someone who did not do so well through their early school career, I can definitely say that Platt influenced me to do more not only with my career, but my life in general.
I originally wanted to go to Platt to get an Associates Degree in Graphic Design, and without hesitation I signed up for more classes and ultimately finished with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Web Development. I can honestly say that I never planned to build or program websites. Yet, the atmosphere at Platt is so positive and really influences you to push yourself, in a healthy way.
The class sizes are small, and the professors know more than enough to help you through. In such a competitive environment, it’s very important that your advisors be well informed and knowledgeable. At Platt, you will find that, and more. With a convenient course schedule to choose from, you are sure to get a great education. I found that a lot of my professors at Platt really went above and beyond to educate me and prepare me for the real working world.
I also had the pleasure of traveling overseas to Japan with Platt College in October 2009, and that, hands down, was the best experience I’ve had with any school, thus far. The dean of students, Marketa Hancova, believes in stimulating your brain (and life) in more than just coming to school and sitting in front of a computer.
At Platt, I met so many creative people, and I think that’s what I’ll miss most about going there. Now that I’ve graduated, I’ve been considering going back to be a teacher’s aid. I just can’t get enough of Platt!
If you ever find yourself wondering about Platt, don’t hesitate to call or email them. I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Media Arts and Associate of Applied Science Degree in Graphic Arts here. The instructors are ALWAYS there to help you, depending on the time of day the classes vary from 33 to 3, yes 3! So you can definitely say you are at a personal level with your instructors and the rest of the Staff.
The Dean, Marketa she’s an amazing and inspirational individual she is constantly trying to get the students and staff involved in different cultural activities and also bringing in speakers and making field trips to many things that could provide a student with a great opportunity in their field.
Platt is not a school that just wants your money they actually care and make an effort to help you, you are not just a number there. When you graduate they have a career services center where you are able to work closely with her to find job placement.
I wouldn’t pick any other school to go to, I loved it here and highly recommend checking it out.
