Love this place! The employees are always so helpful & friendly, they go out of their way to help you find the right products for your pet & even sent me off w a bunch of samples so I could make sure my dog would love the food before I committed to the large bags. I feel confident that if I ever were to have a problem they would make it right, which keeps me coming back. Support our small local businesses!

I found Point Loma Pet Pantry while searching for a Fussy Cat retailer. (Hard to find and my cat loves it.) They aren’t far from my work so I stop in to stock up on my lunch. My dog goes to work with me and goes in as well. They are always so nice to the pets who stop by and take the time to talk to them and offer treats. (Always asking owners first.) The staff is very friendly and helpful, the prices are reasonable and my dog is treated well. What’s not to love?!!

We have been shopping at Point Loma Pet Pantry for a couple of years now. At first they didn’t carry the cat food I normally buy so I didn’t go in there much. But over time I allowed them to educate me on the better foods for both my cats and doggy. I also thought at first that since they were small and local they would be much more expensive. This proved to be quite wrong. In fact, their prices are very reasonable and competitive. I love their well educated and caring staff, their variety (great quality) of foods and treats, and their competitive prices. They also have a separate program that builds points, so after only 5 points I receive $ 5 off my next purchase. I’m a bargain hunter so I love this. They are so friendly and kind and I love taking my little Cody boy in there with me for a little treat. Thank you Pet Pantry for caring and continuing to improve with age.

I tried brand after brand of dog food before I found this place. Blue buffalo make her vomit, the so called «holistic» food made her break into hives and she was lethargic. We were recommended this place at the dog park. We showed up and not only did they explain all the different options, they gave us free samples of everything for her to try ! We chose to go with orijin its a dog food from Canada and I couldn’t believe the difference in my dog it was almost overnight. Her rashes went away she was less gassy and she perked right up! The store has many options from fresh refrigerated food to tons of kibble. Once I learned what they put in most American brand dog food I was disgusted ! Now i recommend this food and place to anyone who is not satisfied with their current food. I will post a pic of the ingredients on orijin it’s amazing ! Thanks pet pantry !!

Great shop! They have a very good selection of hard to find foods and are competitive against the online pet food market which is usually significantly cheaper than most. SOJOS dog food is extremely hard to find and they always have the protein I’m looking for. Always so friendly as well!

I love this place. I live in the neighborhood and love that such a great shop exists. The staff are all super friendly and helpful.
I have had finicky feline issues as well as a few food allergies and other minor issues that they were so helpful with. My kitties love the foods, and I love the pricing and being able to trust the quality of the ingredients. It’s wonderful not to have to worry about where ingredients were sourced or if it is full of corn and chicken by product meal.
And to the man who cut me in line, and then yelled at my mother and I for not having manners even after I apologized to him for the misunderstanding (after doing nothing wrong) continued to yell and then berate the staff, shame on you sir. And shame on you for your dishonest Unilocal

I feel compelled to review after reading some of the negative comments. I visited this store yesterday and I thought that the person behind the counter was very helpful and considerate. In fact, she went over and above to assist as I needed help in finding food for my elderly dog who has severe allergies. I don’t know if the food I bought will help as I’ve not tried it yet, but I strongly disagree with the negative comments I read. This store provides food and other items not found in many places and the staff is caring and helpful. I’m not a regular customer but that could very well change. At any rate, please don’t judge by a few people who are negative and appear to have had a bad experience of their own making.

I would like to put this behind me, as it was pretty hurtful. However, you know very well that you never got off the phone. I’m not sure why you would say that. Needless to say, this incident was handled in a very poor manner, but to be disingenuous is worse.
If your child was in the back for that apologize. As I previously mentioned, I own up to my colorful language. I was wrong.

My sister and I have been coming to The Pet Pantry for quite some time now. We bring our dogs, a poodle mix and a chihuahua mix, almost every Sunday after a long day at the dog beach. We have nothing but good things to say about the staff and the quality of the service. They truly care about their customers and their two legged ones too, hehe. They offer their honest advice on the products that they sell and it is always a friendly environment to be in. As far as the parking lot issue we have not had one, however those who are loyal and enjoy coming there will understand that the business is not at fault. Nonetheless the staff who work there make it worthwhile to make the trip almost every Sunday.

We drive here from UTC just to get our raw marrow bones. We buy the bulk ones as we can’t find a better price anywhere. Our dogs love the staff and they always have the best selection of treats. We love this place.

This store is awesome. They carry high quality food for your pets and have awesome, friendly service. Coming here multiple times a week, we’ve never had anything other than great experiences. They have lots of little treats for your pets and offer the high quality food that you can’t find at PetSmart, Petco, or other big chain pet stores.
Happy to continually help a local business that is totally deserving.
The only drawback — the parking lot is super difficult. It’s tiny and laid out poorly, so be ready to find street parking. It’s worth it, just beware.

My mom and I love point Loma pet pantry, today Elaine was so helpful with us as we were trying to find a new cat food. Sharing the options available and explaining the pros, and cons of almost all of the brands, we were able to find a food that we think will be perfect.
Another great thing about the point Loma pet pantry is that they have samples available which allow you to have your animal try before you buy.
With the knowledgable staff, cheap prices, and great selection, I highly suggest you stop by and check it out!

Our neighbors have been coming here for years and recommended this place to us. We just recently got a puppy, and of course want to feed him some good, healthy food, so stopped in to Point Loma Pet Pantry. Jeanine welcomed me, showed me around, discussed the various options, pluses, minuses, costs. She filled a big bag of various puppy food samples for us to take home and try out, which I thought was really nice.
We ended up special ordering a 15 pound bag of the Taste of the Wild brand puppy food (available in salmon and wild bison flavor — yum), which is coming in on Friday. It’s nice to have a place that is so knowledgeable about animals. I’m sure this will be regular spot for us.
PS — came back today and got a couple chew bones for the puppy which he absolutely loves — the .99 «jerky» — which he immediately devoured, and the $ 6 braided bone, which I think will last him for quite some time…
