We got stranded on the side of 805 coming back from Tijuana. i called my AAA roadside to get help. I advised the AAA lady that my car would not start, she gave me a few numbers to call to get a quote on what we believed was the problem. the other places i called either left me on hold and hung up, or sounded very rude over the phone. i called here and spoke to Chris. he was very helpful and the price he told me, i ended up paying less due to my AAA. the tow truck driver took us there, they needed to replace the gas pump. we got there at like 2, by the time the part arrived and my truck was ready it was a little before 6. We had to wait for our cousin to come to drop off money to us to help us pay and Chris stayed after there closing so we could pay and be on our way home (we live in Atwater, about 6 hours north in the central valley) He could have easily told me no and made me wait till the next day to pick it up and pay. He was absolutely awesome! He had patience with my 2 kids and there complaining about being there for hours and put a movie on that was kid friendly for my kids to be able to watch. There is a charger port thing in there that was definitely helpful for us (3 dead iphones hours from home is no bueno. we had wall chargers but they were in our luggage in the truck). All the mechanics that were working on our car (cant remember the names) were great! (im sorry you had to push our heavy truck since it wouldnt start) You guys were the best! im soo great-​full AAA recommended you guys! Thank you for your hard, fast work and getting us on the road!

I always say I appreciate everyone at, what I call my mechanic shop. Clarence Goodman and Chris Silva and all the guys there go out of there way to make sure our trucks stay in good safe working condition. And sometimes that is no easy task with aging trucks putting on a lot of miles every week. We use our trucks to collect a lot of food for those who need it most. I can’t believe this place has so many bad reviews. I went in for an oil change & the staff was great! Only 2 minutes of being there & I was so happy I picked to do my oil change here! Tony is AWSOME, Great guy he checked my car & told me what was wrong with it I felt he was very honest & not trying to screw me over like other mechanics. I have never been to a place where they actually care about you car! & Chris was great too! I loved this place & will definitely be going back! I give them 5 stars!

Scam artist, i bought my oil changes from Groupon and had visted this location with my jetta with no extra fees and everything was perfect, today i took my girlfriends ford fusion and they made pay for a special in line filter not a regular socket filter. i went on
to check if this was true. it was bunch of bull crap he said the 4 cylinder was a inline filter and the 6 cylinder was a socket filter! Thanks Clarence for lieing and scaming

I should’ve checked my trusty Unilocal before buying that Groupon. How many of you go to an auto shop to FIX their car problems? Raise your hand. ME TOO! I found these guys on Unilocal because I sure as hell am not going to the dealership for a $ 100 – 130 oil change.
Initially, $ 45 for (3) oil changes is a deal to me, especially since it’s so close to work. Consumers go to Groupon to get deals, NOT to add or pay additional expenses after purchasing it. I went here today to get a standard oil change. The guy, Chris, stepped out to look at my vehicle. He returned and said, «did you read the fine print on the voucher? it says we only have certain oils here and for your car it would be $ 7 a quart and it takes 5 quartz.» As a matter of fact; No, I didn’t read the fine print because I didn’t know I was purchasing a home or a brand new car. Do you read the fine print when you order take out food? Or what about buying some shoes? It’s already labeled so why should there be any additional costs, right?
I went with the damn oil change because I was limited on time from work. Paid an additional $ 45 to have my oil changed, brakes inspected and tires rotated. After 2 miles, I hear a «BEEEEEEP». My tire pressure sensor (TPS) goes off. This is where I was scratching my head and was thinking, «hmm this car is less than 2 years old. Normally, I go to an auto shop to fix an issue and not leave there with another.» So, i called the shop again and they said check the tires and bring it in. 2 hours goes by and bring it in. Waited about 10 minutes in the lounge and the same guy came in and said, «we put some more pressure in the tires but it seems like there’s an issue with the manufacturer so you’ll have to go to the dealership.»
Aww, thanks buddy… just a few hours ago, that TPS wasn’t an issue and all of a sudden it is when it departs from your shop. I work in the medical field. If you ever come in for… let’s just say… a foot injury, I’ll be sure to make sure your foot is fine and dandy and hopefully you don’t develop diabetes 2 miles after leaving the clinic.
MY RESOLUTION — Contacted Groupon and they refunded me the $ 45 with Groupon bucks with no hassle. Now, I gotta figure out to schedule an appointment with the dealership about the TPS issue.
Oh, and I’m giving you 1 star because how nice you were about it. It’s not like I have a choice for 0 stars anyway.

This place has no honesty and/​or competency. Do NOT take your car here.
My clutch peddle unexpectedly went out around Point Loma. AAA took me to this Precision Auto as it was close by and was «AAA certified». After letting Precision Auto look at my car for a few hours, they told me my clutch needed work and gave me an estimate of $ 1400. After the work was completed, they told me they were wrong, it was the shift slave cylinder that needed to be replaced. This correct solution was much less expensive.
Before I picked my car, the owner had the audacity to try to sell me an oil change, and he still charged me for the diagnosing my car.
Save yourself self time and money. Go somewhere else.

The first time I went here I over paid for new brake pads but I didn’t mind because I just wanted to get the job done. The very next day turning my steering wheel was giving me trouble. It was difficult to turn. I called them and told them that this was never an issue before. They said it was because I needed a new set of wheels and quoted me around $ 600. I couldn’t believe it. I had just purchased wheels and it was never an issue until I brought my car here.
I went for a second opinion elsewhere and the other place fixed the pressure that THEY HAD CHANGED on my car. The guy even did this FOR FREE! Hmm what a simple solution and they tried to make me pay $ 600?!!
Scammers!

These guys are on a Groupon list for a reason. After second fiasco with oil change groupon, it is a sure thing. Groupon has no idea what kind of service these mechanics provide. You buy supposedly a great deal, only to find out later that out of 17 selections, only a few that can service your car make. But wait, it is only half of adventure. You come to these Precision guys, and they estimate your bill for oil change at $ 18. You have to pay for oil filter, extra oil if it is over 6 quarts, and a disposal fee.
Basic oil change at Valvoline Instant Change costs $ 19.95, and it includes everything.
Question, why would you deal with these guys in the first place, go and purchase Groupon, only to face dishonest business.
Unfortunately, I saw a customer there, a young girl, who was sucked in for services she didn’t need and on top of it overcharged. And the poor girl was thankful and even said out loud that it was very cheap.

I bought two of the oil change Groupons BEFORE I read all these horrible reviews on Unilocal.What can I say, I was in a rush and just wanted to get my damn oil changed at a reasonable price. Anyway, I have no idea why so many people hung these guys on the 1-​star crucifix but my experience was very good. The owner is friendly and affable, the job was done in a reasonable amount of time, and the price was right. The only reason I’m giving them 4 stars instead of 5 is because they tried to upsell me a bit at the end and I hate that. That said, EVERY PLACE does that and at least they were 100% transparent about what the costs would have been for the additional work/​repairs. Assuming my engine doesn’t explode or something in the next week, I can’t think of a single reason not to recommend these guys. As good an experience as I’ve had getting my oil changed, which is to say it wasn’t much of an experience at all. Nor should it be. Thumbs up from me.

My Mazda 5 electric windows controlled from the drivers door were on the fritz. Made an appointment at the dealer and they wanted me to leave my car 3 hours before they would even look at it. I said no thanks and rolled over to Precision Tune. Within 10 minutes they were trying the factory resets. When that didn’t work he popped the door panel off and realized the switch for the drivers side controls was not connected properly. I was out the door in 30 minutes with my windows fixed. These guys were awesome and so friendly.

Chris the manager was polite and took me in right away. I called ahead and said I can get my plonk change when I arrive. Oil change took 40 minutes or so. They top off your fluids put air in your tires and suggest what needs to be fixed. I am happy will return again. Always service with a smile

This places is THE WORST! Customer service SUCKS, the mechanics at the front counter are BEYOND RUDE. DO NOT waste your time or your money on these con artists. The wait times are ridiculous, 3 hour wait for a oil change, really?! Avoid at ALL costs.

They messed up in the first place but eventually apologized and did their job right.

Went with a Groupon and thought it was a great deal. They told us the brakes were in good shape and all was good except we needed a brake fluid flush.
We went back on a second visit (one week later) for the brake fluid flush and they told us they didnt have record of checking our brakes from the last visit and so tgey were going to check it out for us. Then they told us our brakes and rotors were bad. They told us the brake fluid flush would not do any good. We didn’t feel right about it as our brakes are only 6 months old! When we confronted them with that they back peddled and said things were probably fine but that the fluid flush wasn’t needed.
We took it to our regular mechanic and he told us that the brake fluid was low and fixed the issue instantly!
Precision auto does NOT do what they claim. They also try to sucker you into work that isn’t needed.

Avoid it like the plague!!!
Sadly this was the closest shop to where my car broke down. wthey kept it an entire week without a single phone call, I had to call constantly to find out the issue, and every time they would just say they’d call me in an hour and never did. Then they originally told me it would be
$ 95 for a diagnosis (many places are free or cheaper) and ended up charging
me $ 119, no warning. I stopped by to
see what was going on with it because
no one ever called, and there were dirty
tools all over my clean seats and directly
on the top of my car! The car is super
dirty now. The guy was eating an
icecream one and my car was untouched (after 4 days!). He was never even working when I called, and the lady on the phone was just as rude as the mechanics.
All the while I had to pay $ 200 more for
a car rental.

I brought my Porsche Cayenne in for a smog inspection and I was in and out within 15 minutes. I had previously gone to another smog Inspection place and was quoted $ 99 plus an additional $ 15 for the CA certificate! I drove away immediately and just stumbled onto Precision Tune Auto Care. Christopher Johnson helped me and I was so impressed with their professionalism and efficiency. They charged me $ 48.00 total!
When my other car needs an inspection I will definitely go to Precision Tune Auto Care. Kudos to them!

Wanted to charge me $ 300 just to look at my car. Still got charged $ 95 just for telling me that.
Was really upset that the guy who looked at the car refused to acknowledge me when I walked up to get my keys.
I’m a single mom & that $ 95 could of gone towards something else.
Should of read the reviews on here first before I sent my car here.

Wanted to charge over $ 1000 for break pads and rotors, so we asked for only the front break pads and rotors because we didn’t have time to go somewhere else. They ended up charging us $ 400 for front breaks pads ONLY. We only agreed to that price because they said they said they also did the front rotors (but SURPRISE. they didn’t)
Also, super rude on the phone. I have since taught my dear husband to check Unilocal reviews before going to a garage.

We drove from Vegas to SD and around town, went back to our hotel and woke up the next day with one of our tires flat in the parking lot.
I called AAA and they said there was only 2 places around me that is open on Sundays. Since Midway Dr is closer to the beach we brought the car here.
THESE PEOPLE ARE DISHONEST!
We called them before AAA came and explained our situation and he quoted $ 15 on the phone to vulcanize and repair it.
Then when we got there and they «took a look» at the tire they said it’s not salvageable.
They quoted $ 200+ for one tire, then when we said we’re just gonna take it somewhere else, they said that «they made a mistake of quoting 2 tires instead of one» and so the price went down to $ 130. Breakdown is $ 80 for the tire PLUS tax PLUS alignment PLUS labor. SHADY, right!!! Trying to see if you can get away with the «mistake», eh?
So we agreed! At this point, we’re just so ready to get outta there. A costly $ 130 mistake.
Take your car somewhere else! Last thing you need when you’re in a vulnerable situation is someone trying to take advantage of you and ripping you off!

HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE!
Beware of this scam of a business! I am shocked to see the doors still open considering the terrible ratings this place is receiving. I took my 2013 Jetta TDI in for a full synthetic oil change. The attendant «Chris» was helpful in explaining the differences in cost for synthetic vs. standard oil cost and I had no problem paying the extra charges for what I believed to be good service.
Oil change completed on Thursday afternoon. Friday morning wife and I drive up for a weekend to Orange County. Car stays parked for 2 days in hotel parking lot. Driving back down to San Diego my oil pressure light sensor comes on blaring to stop driving the car immediately. Pull over, pop the hood to find smoke and heat coming from the engine. Check the dipstick, bone dry! No oil in the engine!
Called to speak to manager and was told it would be my responsibility to have car towed down to San Diego. Car was towed down to SD at VW Dealer to have full inspection completed. Low and behold the car has no oil and had been leaking since the tech at Precision Auto Tune forgot to tighten the oil filter housing. I paid another $ 125 for a new oil change.
I’ve tried multiple times to speak with Moe and or the owner Clarence with no response from either party. Precision Auto Tune is not taking responsibility and denying any wrong doing on there part.
Writing this review, contacting BBB as well as mechanics board to report this business and its foul business.
There is a light at the end of the tunnel. After a review by the BBB and the State Mechanics review board the owner did pay up and reimburse me for the fouled services.
