Reasonably priced — I know I would have been charged a lot more $$$ elsewhere.
Honest — The mechanic showed me the cracked metal part on my car and explained everything thoroughly. He did not even attempt to push additional repairs like most mechanics. The additional plus for me was the bus stop directly across the street which took me right to work while my car was being repaired.

This place is great. Frank, the owner has been there every time I have brought my car in. They have always done good work at a reasonable price. I work down the street and I was refereed to this place by one of the guys that takes care of our company vehicles. I trust Presidio to do honest work and they have never attempted pull an unnecessary «upsale» like other places I have been to.

Not a good experience. I ended up paying this place $ 75 for unnecessary diagnosis.
This past weekend I took my truck here to have the check engine light diagnosed. According to this shop, sometime between when I parked my truck in their lot, and the time when they checked it, the check engine light must have turned off, and the maintenance light turned on. I have had this truck for about 10 years and I know the maintenance light was not on. It was most certainly the check engine (or more accurately, the malfunction indicator) light.
The maintenance light they thought was on is, (directly from the owners manual Section 1 – 6 «Operation of the Instruments and Controls» under «Service reminder indicators and warning buzzers» Subsection G) the «Engine Oil Replacement Reminder Light»
It is very difficult to believe the engine oil replacement light could have turned on while sitting in their lot since that light is set to automatically turn on at regular intervals based on the odometer. But, now all I have is a list of recommended maintenance and still don’t know why the check engine light went on.
They charged me $ 75 instead of $ 125, but if they really saw the light they say they saw, there is no diagnosis needed according to the owner’s manual.
The only good thing is that I’ve learned a valuable lesson: I now know that I can buy a diagnostic computer for $ 89 to check it myself next time.
Their story doesn’t add up and I don’t feel that I got my money’s worth. I’ll find another shop to take my cars in the future.

I have been coming the Frank and Sophia for many years. The reason why I keep coming back? Quality work, fair prices, excellent service. No upselling, no crazy expensive parts, and on a recent repair, they were actually below the estimate. They have worked on m foreign and domestic cars and trucks and I have never had anything but stellar service.

Just an awesome mom n pop shop. I’ve gotten oil changes here a few times but this is primarily my smog check station. Great prices, friendly lady at the front desk and a knowledgeable mechanic. =)

I’ve been here twice and had good experiences: lasting repairs at reasonable prices. No overselling, and multiple options to help reduce costs if desired. They have a very sensible approach to auto-​repair. I will be going back for more services as needed.

I have been coming to Frank and Sophia for ten years now and my husband followed suit after he saw the good work they did on my cars how responsible they are and the fairness of their prices. They have never tried to overcharge us and always have recommendations and give us options for us to choose. Will keep bringing our cars and will certainly recommend them to others.

This is the best auto center i’ve ever been to. Been coming for a couple years and i leave happy every time. Never had to bring my car back because they did something wrong. Frank is the best mechanic is SD hands-​down.
I’ll try to find something bad about it but for now i’ll list the goods.

I cannot say enough good things about Presidio Auto. I have been using their services for five years. Sophie the office gal is an absolute sweetheart. And Frank the main mechanic and proprietor has been nothing but good to me. I just got my car back today 9−7−11 and it runs like a champ. Frank is hard working and more important then that, they are honest. If you need honest work done at a fair price, this is the place !

So far so good. I just called to get some information and was satisfied with the information the gentleman on the other end gave me.
It is $ 31.99, will take about 20 minutes, and you don’t need the DMV registration paper but it would be a lot quicker if I had it.

Just in case anyone was wondering, this is the auto shop located about a block from Super Bronco and right next to 7-​Eleven.

My car didn’t pass smog b/​c i was too cheap to pay for the $ 700 repair. But lo and behold, if your car doesn’t pass smog because your car is broken the State will pay $ 500 towards your repair so long as you go to one of the State’s authorized repair centers. Presidio Auto Center is one of the State-​approved places.
I brought my car here and everyone was really friendly and cool. My only grouse is that the mechanic, when running the diagnostic test reset my car’s computer and I had to bring my car back again to take the smog test… long story. that was kind of a waste of my time and my husband’s, who had to drive me both times. the mechanic was really sweet about it but still. oh, and he also managed to cover every inch in the interior of my car that he touched with auto grease. it’ll come off, but still.
