At Tire Express, our full service tire and wheel center offers very competitive wholesale pricing along with a fast, friendly and certified team of installers. Our services include a large selection of new and used tires and wheels, internal and external tire repair, aluminum and steel wheel repair, computer balancing, tire rotation, emergency road service, free air pressure check and tire and wheel recycling and disposal.

History

Established in 1980.

Tire Express was opened in 1980 to bring high quality tire services to residents throughout San Diego and surrounding areas. Our first location opened just off the 163 freeway near Clairemont, Kearney Mesa, Beaches, Mission Valley and USD. Shortly after, we opened our second location between the 15 and 805 freeways near North Park, Hillcrest, Normal Heights, La Mesa and SDSU. We are proud to be a part of such a great community and want to thank you, our loyal customers, for your continued support of our local business. This is a great tire shop to find new and used tires at a «more-​than-​reasonable» price. Jose has assisted me each time I have been there and he is extremely professional, helpful, and an all around great guy. Please ask for him when you call or stop in and you will see immediately why I recommend him so highly. They have the best deals in town, are conveniently located on Linda Vista. All the employees at Tire Express are friendly, relaxed, helpful, and very fast at what they do. They have a huge selection of new and used tires. I’ve purchased both from them and my used ones look as good as my new ones. I don’t write reviews often but if you need tires you have to go here first and see what they can do for you. Professional, top notch service. You’ll be glad you stopped by!

Man, damn Honda told me to get a new tire because it’s not patchable. I go to Tire Center and they said they can patch it. I was out in 5 – 10 mins. Great service! Highly recommended it.

Been coming here since I was 16 with my first car! ! (1996) im too cheap to buy new tires lol. I love this place. I’m here now actually and it’s dead. I just roll in, takes 15 min max and I’m on my way. $ 40-​$ 60 a tire, can’t beat that! The same guy still works here, super nice, very professional. I recommend them to all my friends!

Great service, I was treated with respect and was in and out in less than 15 minutes. The price I was quoted over the phone was the same as what I paid and the tires I needed were not available at any of the other places I usually have gone to. These guys were amazing, thank you!!! I recommend these guys to anyone that needs tires and am glad I came here. If you need some tires do yourself a favor and do not hesitate to check these guys out. This place was super quick and very efficient! I spoke to Jose over the phone first to make sure they have the right tires available and he was friendly and helpful. I got here and they were so nice and extremely helpful. I asked about my back tires and they said those were fine. They informed me that my brakes needed to be changed and I should do it as soon as possible. So nice to deal with honest people. I was in and out within 20 minutes. Will definitely come back here again!

This place is awesome. They were the only ones in town who had a used tire in my (apparently very popular) size. I asked how much and when he said «$ 35 labor included», I was on my way. The location is a little odd, a narrow sort of alley way made between a wall of tires/​fence and the tiny building. Nothing fancy here, no lifts, no sparkling floors, no technicians wearing gloves, just three super friendly guys who were eager to help me. They came out right away and directed me where to go. They said 20min, but it was done in less than 15 and I saved a ton of money. Definitely my new tire shop since I don’t mind a no frills shop as long as I come away satisfied. Highly recommend these guys.

I found what looked to be a nail in my tire & called in to ensure they were open on a Sunday – sure enough they were. Thank goodness for that since we were just heading home to LA from a long weekend in San Diego. Just look for the sign & you’ll see the stacks of tires (drive in or enter from alley behind the location).
Ricky found two items in the tire. One was just a rock – the other a nail. He removed & checked the tire thoroughly for leaks. It was a small nail & he made sure it didn’t do any damage. Then he checked all my tires & found they all needed air. He was great & took care of all of them – which I thought was very considerate. It put my mind at ease for the road ahead.
I got home safe & sound! Thanks Tire Express for being open on Sunday & taking care of us. I highly recommend the expertise & great customer service.

WoW who has a drive thru tire shop?!? they do! everything was so convenient and organized! they bring you literally down the line like its a fast food drive thru! thy all practically all tire sizes new and used and for a new looking used tire for 45 bucks im a happy woman! great location great price i wont even try anywhere else service was great and no bs like other shops that pressure u to buy new tires! will come back and will def spread the love for this place.

Customer Tip:
1. Call them ahead of time to verify they have your tire.
Negatives:
1. Tire associate (Manual?) was smoking (Yuck).
Pros:
1. Open on Sundays.
2. Cheap: Used tire was $ 40 total.
3. Quick: 15 minutes total.
4. They have the tire specifications written on the outside of the tire so you could verify it’s the correct size for your tire.
5. They’re way better than Performance Team Tires & Wheels on Rosecrans St.
Meh:
1. It’s a small narrow (alley-​like) area. No outside customer seating b/​c it’s narrow but there’s seating area w/​water available inside the office.
2. Music was slightly loud (Spanish music).
3. I called twice w/​no one picking up. 3rd time Jose picked up. Perhaps they were busy.

To update. When I got home I realized… you always should double check. I didn’t think they would sell me such a tire, or could legally. A nearly bald tire for 40 dollars was not a deal. I trusted to have a decent tire. Not a greased over tire with less than 20 percent tread. 20 percent is generous.

These guys a really cool here. I was nearby at a local coffee shop, and I notice that my low tire pressure light was on, so I popped on my Unilocal App and found these guys just around the block.
As I pulled in, I was waved in by one of the friendly employees to pull up further. After I explained my situation, he quickly gave each tire and inspection. Then he check the air pressure of each tire, put some air in each that needed it. Another employee approached and informed me that it would take a few minutes before my computer in my car would adjust to the change. Sure enough, a few minutes later, as we let the car idle, the pressure light went off, and I was off!
I liked that they were friendly and helpful with out the hassle or sales pitch, and that they helped me out!
