Having moved across the country from NYC, I am new to the San Diego area, and felt it would be prudent to partner with a temp agency in my employment search. I found Qualstaff here through Unilocal,and filled out their online profile. It wasn’t long before I was contacted by Oliver O’Loughlin, one of their recruiters. We spoke on the phone, and he scheduled an in-​person interview with me, in which we discussed my background, what i was looking for, and what available positions I may be a good fit for. The first company he forwarded my resume to responded that they were looking for someone with more industry experience, but that’s not all bad, since I didn’t waste any time actually attending an interview. The second company did bring me in for an interview, though they ended up choosing another candidate. Several days later, that candidate was unable to bear with the commute, and the company called Oliver, who immediately contacted me and let me know the company was interested in having me fill the spot. He had me come into the agency’s office that same day, fill out all pertinent paperwork, and the very next day I started working. Now, I’m working in a position that suits all my interests, thanks to Oliver and Qualstaff. Best of all, my commute is only 15mins with no traffic!

I was really disappointed with this staffing agency. I was given contact information for a recruiter by the name of Charles Davis from a friend who had recently gotten a job through qualstaff.
It took me a few attempts to contact him before he finally responded to my emails. When I met with him he seemed beyond unenthusiastic and barely offered me any advice or help in my job search. I was just trying to get my foot in the door and find something entry level and told him that I was open to full time, part time or even temp positions. Charles basically made me feel like I was not worth his time and that I had no marketable skills (despite 8 years of customer service and sales experience and a bachelors degree). He said multiple times that I should «feel free to look into other recruiting companies in the area» which struck me as rude and unprofessional. He finally pulled two jobs for me and told me he would get back to me about them.
Charles never contacted me after that. A week later when I tried to follow up with him via email, he simply responded that the positions he had pulled had been filled and to check back with him weekly for other options. Every attempt to «check back» with him after that was a dead end as he never responded to me again. I contacted qualstaff stating that I was unhappy with my experience and asking for a different recruiter and once again I received no response.
I now have a great job which I found without the help of this recruiter or staffing company. I would not recommend this company to anyone looking for job placement in the San Diego area. Very, very disappointing and unprofessional.

Not only did he take the time to work with me but he also got me a job within two weeks of our initial conversation. All my interviews were set up via phone/​Skype and I got the job before I even arrived to San Diego! I now work for the biggest ultra violet technology company in the world. What I liked most about working with Charles and the staff at Qualstaff is that they took the time to know me, my skill set and were understanding of my long distance situation. Rachel Winslow from Qualstaff resources emailed me after finding my resume on either LinkedIn or Monster Jobs. She had an opening for a technical support representative for a medical device company off Mira Mesa Blvd. We had a brief phone interview and she scheduled me for an in person interview. Having been to a few interviews recently I was really impressed with Qualstaff Resources in general because everyone is super friendly, they put you right at ease, there is a candy dish full of mints on the reception counter in case you need one.
Specifically I was, am very impressed with my Recruiter, Rachel Winslow. She did an excellent job not just vetting me for the company but for the company to fit with me! Our interview went well and she made a smooth segue from interviewing me herself to coaching me to for my interview with this medical device company. She was candid in her answers and I was comfortable asking her for advice on how to answer some interview questions that I’ve been stumped by recently. She helped me form honest answers that were positive (they could easily have sounded negative). She gave me a list of interview questions and some interview wardrobe tips.
I went the my interview early the following week. I was offed the position later that afternoon. I think the whole process from Rachel contacting me to my job acceptance took a total of 2 weeks.
I would definitely be willing to work with Rachel and Qualstaff Resources again. In fact, If I find myself looking for another position she will be one of the first to know.

I love this place! Ive been to a lot of recruitment agencies! First off the front dest is very nice and welcoming. They don’t make you wait long at all which everybody should appreciate! Then I get this awesome recruiter by the name of Charles Davis. This is the first time any recruiter has ever takin the time to prep me for my interview! He submitted me for a position and while waiting to hear back he called every other day to update me while informing me of other opportunities. He didn’t just throw anything at me either. He took the time to place me in just the right environment. Charles even went the extra mile and advocated on my behalf for a shot to show and prove. The best part is it worked!!! I saw Charles a week ago and now Im starting at a great company come next week. Also the quality of the position they find you are phenomenal. All their staff are so down to earth and friendly. Most unprofessional temp agency around! Especially there recruiter «Kristy Hernandez» I have never dealt with such unprofessionalism in the recruiting industry!
She is all about her money. Just to let you know if your not accepted after interviewing with a company she sent you out to, then she will not EVER call you for further positions… ect! She is definitley fake to the max! I would never reccomend this temp agency to anyone in San Diego after what I have been through. Thank you!

I work on the employer side of things and I’ve worked with Qualstaff for several years. The recruiters are an extension of my HR role and we partner closely on all my staffing needs. They know what I’m looking for in candidates and only send me top notch people who fit the requirements. They are quick to respond and follow up with me. Qualstaff is in the business to match top talent with employers and it never comes across as them trying to just «make a buck.» They have genuine employees who know what they are doing and take pride in their job. They are on the top of my list for any temporary or full time staffing needs.

She was extremely helpful getting me back into the working world after 4 years of being a stay at home Mom. She was fast, friendly, efficent, and extremely knowledgeable. I was always well prepared for my assignments. She kept in constant contact with me to make sure everything ran smoothly before, during, and after my assingments. She goes the extra mile to make sure you’re a right fit for where you are placed, and wants to help people find they jobs they need.
I was placed at my current assignment in November 2013 and was hired as a full-​time employee in March 2014. I love my job and I have Belinda (and Qualstaff) to thank for the amazing opportunity to get my foot in the door at this great company!

This was my first time ever going through a temp agency. I was a bit skeptical but decided to go through with it. I was currently working while submitting my resume, simply was just looking for a better job. I didn’t have the time to go job searching or to go online applying. Belinda really helped me out from day one =). Heard back from her real soon, she had really good news within 2 weeks! I had an interview for the following week. Ended up getting hired found out that same week the whole process took less than 3 weeks. Put my 2 weeks in my previous employer. Started working in my new job the following week. Love that my paychecks are weekly every FRIDAY! can’t get any better. I’ve been employed over a year now and very happy. Qualstaff also offers a referral program. Once you work through Qualstaff any person you refer friends, family if they get hired you get $ 100!!. Belinda has found jobs for a couple of my friends and they are happily employed.

I was only looking for something seasonal or short term at the moment. Had never used a temp agency and then the opportunity came up thru a referral. Met with my recruiter the next day after calling. Belinda, which was professional and up beat; interviewed me and so the waiting began. I never thought it would be so fast in getting an assignment… Next thing you know I had a job within 2 days! I loved the company they placed me in and to make it sweeter they were in the same building so I got to pick up my check every Friday :)

Worst temp agency ever. Their receptionist was very rude to me every single time I’ve called and came in. Edith is the most incompetent recruiter I’ve met. I first met with her and she was very nice but I had to explain to her the difference between a BA and a BS degree as she thought I had a Bachelors degree in art when she saw the BA on my resume. I should have known from this moment that this agency is a no go. I was told she would send my resume over to the company for a position she had and didn’t hear a word back until a week later. I called her multiple times and left messages and sent her emails asking what was going on. I finally got a hold of her two weeks later and she said I would be meeting with the client soon and she would contact me soon with more details. Again I waited and still nothing after more non responsive emails and phone calls. I never heard back from her again. AVOID this agency at all costs.

If you’ve never worked for a temp agency, basically here’s the process:
–submit your resume
–temp agency calls you, asks waht your looking for
–you get scheduled an appointment for a pre-​interview interview (basically the agency interviews you to get a feel of your qualifications and professionalism before they send you out to actual interviews)
–temp agency calls you when they get a job that may fit your needs
–you decide if you want to interview for that job or not
–if you say «yes! i like the sound of that!», they give you a run down of the job specifications, ask you some questions the potential employer will ask you.
–Do your own research on the company they’re about to send you to
–show up for your interview, do your best, cross your toes and fingers and pray you get hired
Everyone will have a different experience based on what type of jobs you’re looking for and how well you do at the interviews they send you to.
Amber was able to find me a job less than a month. I highly recommend this agency. They’re really prompt at processing your paychecks too!

I have been to several different placement agencies around town, and I must say I’m pretty impressed with Qualstaff. They called me for a job opportunity, quickly set me up for an interview and within 2 weeks I was working there. :)

Quick, efficient, friendly, and EFFECTIVE.
Within hours of submitting my resume, I had received a call-​back from Amber at Qualstaff, and I had an interview with her for a potential job match the following day. Now, THAT is service.
Amber is AWESOME. She’s outgoing and friendly, and she put me immediately at ease. It’s not easy advertising yourself, and I felt like we were old friends after having just met her. She followed through with everything she said she would do, and has kept in touch throughout the process, just to be sure I’m doing okay. She tweaked and re-​formatted my resume and quoted me some insider information into the history of the company for which I’m applying.
I really feel cared-​for. This is a terrible job market, and it’s very easy to feel overwhelmed and hopeless. Amber and Qualstaff have been extremely understanding, and I now have a second-​interview with a GREAT opportunity. Sure, she can’t actually land the job for me, but thanks to her help, I feel I have all the tools I need.

I’m not sure if this is QualStaff’s new address, but I know they switched locations this year. I was working for them mid-​relocation.
Anyhow, I was staffed by this company during my short-​lived time in SD, and I must say that QualStaff is on top of their stuff.
I was assisted by Debbie who I think is in charge of interviewing new applicants and job placements and she was ready to take me in and put me through all the necessary procedures before getting me work. This took less than a week. And based on my skillset, she managed to place me right away. And I mean that I had a job in less than 4 days. Debbie walked me through everything, checked in with me, and she was very considerate to my situation.
I was helped by another lady, but everyone in that office was pretty nice so I don’t think you should have a hard time with them unless you have some shortcomings.
Lastly, I was always paid on time, and the great thing about QualStaff is that they don’t make you register for their website– there’s no BS. They take care of you ASAP and whether or not they can place you is up to you.
