History

Established in 2003.

Founder Ronson J. Shamoun started out as a solo practitioner, working evenings and weekends at his convenience store and Subway in Ocean Beach, trying to spread the word about his new law firm to every customer who came in. He began to build relationships with those customers and they started to come to him with their tax problems. They knew they could trust him because they’d see him the next day when they came in to get their coffee or sandwich.

It suffices to say Shamoun has come a long way from the days of face-​to-​face marketing with his convenience store customers, but he has seen the fruits of his labor materialize into the firm that he had always envisioned. With 9 attorneys (all of whom hold an LL.M. or are in the process of obtaining it, as it is a requirement to join his firm), Shamoun has built a practice that is lauded not only for helping its clients, but for its tireless dedication to helping better the community of southern California as a whole.

Ronson «Ronnie» Shamoun is a tax controversy attorney with over twenty years of tax experience including twelve years in legal practice. Mr. Shamoun’s practice involves federal and state taxation with an emphasis in criminal tax defense, tax controversy, real estate, corporate law, and international tax. The size of the individual amounts in controversy that Mr. Shamoun has either settled or litigated with the IRS and state tax agencies have ranged from a few thousand dollars to over $ 300 million dollars in other cases. He has a sterling reputation with the United States Attorney’s Office and the District Attorney’s Office in multiple jurisdictions, and his firm has a reputation among the taxing entities for being steadfast advocates on behalf of their clients. My mother-​in-​law had several taxation issues after her divorce. Chandara helped her by negotiating with IRS and each time one issue was resolved, another would arise. However, Chandara worked relentlessly and continued to help patiently without complaining each time we bought another stack of paperwork to her. Our case had previously been on standby for so many years as we paid for legal services until we heard about RJS Law. We are so grateful for RJS and especially Chandara because other places who offered helped were not as efficient or nearly as competent.

I had a heart attack when I received a letter from the FTB claiming I owe 160K. They were threatening to lien my bank accounts as well as my properties if I didn’t pay up. I hired RJS Law Firm to represent me in this horrific situation. I mostly dealt with Ronson Shamoun and Allison Soares, who helped me settle with the FTB for a fraction of what I owed.
Few months later I received a letter from the IRS for a much smaller amount, 4K. In less than a week, the same team was able to handle the situation and I didn’t have to pay the IRS anything.
They were professional and promptly handled all my concerns. I would definitely recommend RJS Law to everyone…

RJS Law is amazing. I was referred to Allison from a friend attending law school. Allison and Christine helped me establish my corporation. When I met them I suffered from not knowing what I didn’t know, but now I know. They were extremely patient with me, an English Major turned business man, and used their knowledge to guide me through the process of establishing a Corp. They were so great, I will trust them with establishing my second Corporation.

I would strongly recommend RJS Law to all who are under an IRS audit. The sooner you get them involved the better it’ll be. Do not try to meet with the IRS on your own unless you’re super knowledgeable about current tax issues. We tried to handle our audit ourselves only to find our situation worsening as our audit was extended into several years. A good friend of ours recommended RJS and that’s how we came into contact with Ron and Quinn. I was super skeptical when we first met them given that CPAs had completed some of those income tax reports (some were completed by my husband using tax software). They looked over our case and assured us they could handle it. Trust me, I had my doubts but they delivered! They were very professional and answered all our questions throughout the process. Whenever we had to leave a voicemail, we always heard back from them within an hour. The outcome was better than I ever imagined. I’ll always be grateful to Ron, Quinn, and they’re amazing staff!
Please avoid yourself the heartache and stress if you come under audit and call RJS Law. I know that if we ever receive the dreaded audit letter again, I WILL be calling them!!!

Talking about Tax problems, this is absolutelly, the best Law firm in San Diego. I had very difficult IRS issue to say the least, from the first day I walk into the RJS office I could feel the weight being lifted. Ronnie and his team were there for me through out the whole process which took almost 2 years, not once did I feel I was in the fight alone. The professional service they proved over and over again. I have had other things in the past that required me to seek professional guidance and not once have I received the same care and understanding of me and my situation that Ronnie and his team gave (100%) at a time when I needed. Dealing with the IRS at any level can be a very scary place, I truly thank God for bring RJS law to my rescue because in so many ways thats what they did. If you thinking of who you should be hiring for you situation I would strongly recommend you sit down with Ronson or anyone of the team, and talk it through. If your like me and need that extra attention you will find it here, they don’t miss phone calls and your email will be responded to immediately and if there is no resolution and you have to go to face the judge the experience and knowledge is there to defend you, a lot of Attorneys say the can do this until you get to that point and then they can’t, they either don’t have the experience or the knowledge or the Balls to see it through, RJS does. This should have been written awhile ago, sorry it hasn’t been because they truly deserve it.

We are Finally Done! It was a crazy ride. But, RJS Law came through! I worked with Quinn Disparte and Ronnie Shamoun, with my transaction. I gotta tell you… It was amazing! Every call I made was returned and answered by Quinn and Ronnie, NO PARALEGAL or assistant! Every email was returned the same day. Even if Quinn had no answers, he would say «still waiting»
I’m not going to get in the specifics of my transaction, lets just say it was LARGE! I really thought it was the end of the world. If I didn’t have my beautiful wife and kids, I would have just given up! I would call Quinn and just talk to him about how I was feeling etc. He actually sat there a listened and tried to make me feel better! He would say, «don’t worry man, it will be OK». «we will get this done!» He was right! I feel like i’m still dreaming! We can finally move on!

I was dealing with an IRS issue and remembered seen RJS’ billboards. I called them and in less then 15 min got a call back from Allyson, who was simply AMAZING!
She took her time and patiently explained me everything and calmed me down. It took me few weeks to call her back, and once I got all papers I set up an appointment with her. I am so glad I did!!!
During the appointment I also had the pleasure to meet with Paula! She is also very knowledgeable and so patient! Not only we talked about IRS questions, but also about business advices! That first meeting was free of charge. And once you meet them, and see how much they know, you are hooked forever!

When my husband and I found out how much taxes we owed our world and emotions were turned upside down! The stress all at once was too overwhelming and I couldn’t sleep for months. There were so many thoughts of, «oh my goodness, what’re we going to do… there goes our home and we have no savings!»
We were referred to RJS and after I reviewed the Unilocal reviews I was still not sure they could help us out but I have to say after meeting with Ronnie I felt I could breath much better. We opted for a payment plan with both IRS and FTB. I started to work with Suzanne to get things rolling and she was AMAZING, kind, patient and most importantly understanding! Now that everything is finalized I can exhale completely!

Amazing! In today’s world of NO customer service and only internal focus, The RJS Law firm and Chandara in particular completely changed my perspective. Due to a complicated personal situation, I found myself in a difficult position with the IRS. One call and I can not tell you how relieved I am. I can breathe again, and what is even more amazing– I do not need an attorney. Chandara advised me on how to resolve this myself.
