Rosecrans Smog Check

They should call this Rosecrans Scam Check. Scam, scam, scam, scam! These guys are rip off a total rip off! My car passed the test! let me say that again my car passed the test. Then on the visual test he said the PCV valve doesn’t look that good. He said you can go down to O’Reilly’s and get one and I said it will be a free test when I bring it back here, right? He said no its going to have to be retested even though it’s a visual inspection that it failed on. it’s going to all be retested and you know I can give you half price. F#&K you! This place is a ripoff!

Great customer service, fast and reliable let’s you know right away what’s wrong with your car. Affordable and knowledgable. Would definitely recommend this place to others. It’s under new management.

Just wasted $ 50 dollars! Just moved from out of state and learned the hard way. Apparently when you buy a vehicle you DO NOT NEED A SMOG CHECK. Take note and realize they will take your money even if they know better.

I found the staff very professional, friendly, and helpful. The Smog check took very little time, with one car ahead of mine, and the owner was willing to match the price of another smog check shop nearby. I will definitely go back.

Getting my car worked on is never fun. As a woman, I always feel like I am going to be ripped off or overcharged. I went here with no appointment and even with one car ahead of me the entire process was quick and easy. I think I was there for 20 minutes total. The staff was friendly. There was one mechanic guy testing cars and another guy who helped with the paperwork. If you need to get your car smogged, I definitely recommend this place. Plus, it’s centrally located so you can drop your car off and grab lunch while you wait — In N Out is around the corner :) — or there is a little waiting room. The pricing was also reasonable. It was cheaper than the other places in the area that I called.

First of all I did not get my car serviced, but… My laptop was stolen on Oct 7^th, I thought it was gone forever. Then I got a call on Oct 17^th from a man who worked at this shop who said that a guy came in And tried to sell it to him. When he saw the pictures of my son holding his fathers folded flag, the man confiscated my computer and held on to it. He was able to find my phone number in my computer and called me! I am so greatful for kind people who do the right thing! My son was soo sad that all of our pictures of our fallen hero were gone.

I just do not like when a web site posts a price and you get there and find out there is fine print and the total is 50% more. Bait and switch, or whatever you want to call it, will normally get me to walk out. They were lucky I needed it now or I would have gone to a competitor. If you do go here, make sure you confirm your BOTTOM LINE PRICE before you go put your money down.

It amazes me what some people expect. They advertise $ 30 for test ONLY. Everyone should know by now that you have to pay the state fee for a «pass» test and they submit the paperwork to the DMV, although I admit I even forgot that fact. I thought this place was great. So what if they smoke? You’re not moving in, and they have a waiting room where there is NO smoke. These guys were great. Eren was amazing helping me find the place as I didn’t know the immediate area that well yet and had to call him like 4 times to find it. Test took 15 minutes. I will definitely go back here for my next smog test!

They were friendly and fast! I was there on a Monday morning and didn’t have to wait for anyone else to be tested first so I was in and out in less than 20 minutes. Will recommend them to anyone who is looking for a place, especially if the discount on their website continues to be offered!

I signed up for Unilocal specifically to give these guys a bad review… Normally I have pretty low expectations from a smog check place anyway, but this place was by far the worst! I found them online advertising $ 30 special, I made an appointment thru their website for a Saturday. Their schedule had everything opened beginning at 7am but they don’t open until 9am! So I was cautious and picked 9am. I never got a confirmation or a call, I finally called to confirm my appointment the day before and ofcourse they had no record of it but they said they would take me in.
I show up to my appointment as confirmed and there is 1 employee eating a breakfast burrito, he took a few minutes to approach me because he was busy eating. Its a tiny place but he wouldn’t look at me. He finally checked me in then said its going to take about 10−15mns for the machine to warm up… I said ok. But he didn’t actually initiate the warm up until 15 mns later because he had to finish eating first… Shouldn’t he have done that first thing when he came in?! Moving on I asked him if my check engine light on will affect it? He said «we’ll see». Almost an hour later. My car is still the only one he’s working on, another poor guy showed up to his appointment and waited the whole time. Then he tells me it did NOT pass because of the check engine light and it’s not $ 30 it’s $ 45 because of this and that (did not make sense, other than false advertising). So he told me to come back after I get my car fixed and it’ll only be another $ 20 to retest. I go to my VW dealership and my mechanic told me the check engine light on is automatically a FAIL and they shouldn’t of attempted the test it and on top of it charge me. It was my fault I should have researched it first but I did ask him an he should have been honest! Long story short service was horrible I was apparently disturbing his breakfast, I payed $ 65 instead of the advertised $ 30 and It was so bad I want to make sure no one else gets taken advantage of!

I’m kind of shocked the reviews below are so bad… I went here recently after getting the groupon for a smog check and they were so nice and friendly. I was in and out in less than 15 minutes and there were no additional charges/​fees (some groupon’s i’ve gotten in the past do that). The also can process your registration there (for an additonal fee) and they were like, «well you still have 2 months to do that so you may want to go to the DMV, otherwise we’d be happy to do it here». I think that may be the first time I’ve ever taken my car in and not try to add things on. Overall, this was a great place to go and i will definitely be using them in the future!

Being from Oregon, I am totally clueless when it comes to smog checks! I called another business before coming here, and since the other business was obviously trying to rip me off, I called the first place on my google search: Rosecrans Smog Check. I talked with Erik, and he was very friendly and the place had great prices!
I came right in, and was really happy with the customer service and speedy smog check! My grand total was $ 30, which was way cheaper than any of the other places I had been looking at! My car ended up not passing (big surprise! haha), but now I know what’s wrong with it and I can look at getting it fixed… and if I come in for a re-​check he gave me a deal with that, too!
I am really happy with this place’s customer service, and will for sure be back to re-​check my car and also bring my husband’s car in as well!

This shop is totally unreliable and unprofessional!!!
I made an appointment with then for the next day at 8.15am.
When I showed up at their place, nobody was around!
I gave them a chance and actually waited for 30 min and called their business line every 5 min (hoping the call would be forwarded to a cell phone), but nobody picked up the phone.
So I had to go to another place to do the SMOG test :(
When I passed at 9.15am again, still nobody was there at the location.
That is so inconsiderate and totally not respectful!
But worst of all, they were not only unable to call me in advance and tell me that they will be late (they wrote down my number during the scheduling), they also failed to call afterwards to apologize for their missed appointment.
I would give zero stars if I could. Never again!

First off, the staff was rude, smoked inside his garage & asked me to wait at his desk next to his dirty ashtray.
Second, the website says $ 30 no matter what… when I get there he said it was $ 45.
Third, as soon as he got into my car & saw the check engine light was on, he should have said something. I had no idea that would fail my test. Then no free retest?
What kind of business is that? He pulled my car into the garage, he knew it was going to fail before he even did anything, but he wanted to over charge me just the same.
This place is a complete rip off, please know what your getting into when going to this place.

Saw on their website they were having a $ 30 sale for smog check in November only. Called to make an appointment yesterday at 4:45 for same day service even though they were closing at 6. Lady on the phone said yes. I said I would be there in 20 minutes. Got there at 5:05. 20 minutes later, and $ 45 (you have to pay the $ 15 for the cert) bucks short, I was out the door with a PASS. Waahooo! The staff was very nice, courteous and up front. I would definitely come back. The woman at the front was foreign and sometimes their accents can be confused for attitude. I don’t think she had an attitude at all. IMHO! :)

When you are driving a British motorcar that has more leaks than Julian Assange, the prospect of a smog change is not only daunting, it is nightmare inducing.
Not only did Rosecrans SC+T take me immediately, they finished in about 15 minutes AND gave a $ 20 discount to boot.
The old gal passed her test and now can be registered without issue. Fast and friendly service can’t be beat. Thank you!

Called at 10am, told them make/​model of the car (chevy cargo van), got a good price. Asked how long the wait was. One on the rack right now, nobody in line. Lady offered me an 11am appointment — sure, no problem. Rolled in at 11a, had somebody driving onto the rack right then. Strange, seeing as how I had an 11am appointment. Talked to the guy in the garage, he said 20 – 30 minutes. Took all my info. I’m moderately pissed that my appointment is worthless, but trying not to sweat the small stuff. Finally after 30+ minutes, guy finishes his leisurely small talk with the lady in front of me and gets her out of the garage. Finally pulls my van halfway into the garage and declares he doesn’t know if it’ll fit. Instead of either… backing out and giving up, or pulling in and risking it… just stands there. Decides we should do the paperwork first — WHY WOULD I DO THE PAPERWORK IF THE VAN WON’T FIT?
A van not fitting in your garage is not worthy of a one-​star rating — I wouldn’t have bothered to rate you at all had that been the case. I called ahead of time, gave you the make and model, there was no indication of a problem. I drove over, stood here for FOURTY-​FIVE minutes while you SAW MY VEHICLE, and after wasting the ENTIRE MORNING you declare it won’t fit. HAD YOU NEVER HEARD OF A CARGO VAN WHEN I CALLED THREE HOURS AGO???
