We have been looking for an excellent hair stylist in San Diego since we moved here in 1982. We found Robert at Salon Europa who is truly an experienced, expert and professional on all types of hair needs.
My husband and I are happy to say that we have found an experienced hairtylist. Robert’s passion and his perfectionist attitude are impressive. He does an excellent spiral permanent on my Oriental hair without the frizzy effect. Robert’s hairstyle on my husband’s hair stays in excellent shape evenly after 6 months from the time it was styled.
He has been our hairstylist for the past 2 years. I highly recommend him for any hair needs.
We will definitely use the services of Robert. He listens and gives excellent professional options.

«I don’t want an ‘old lady’ cut». Well, Kim Tran delivered! She is a precision machine and knows how to deal with thick, wavy, Asian hair. Kim texturized my hair and the cut is adorable. She analyzed the direction my hair went and designed the cut beautifully. She also wasn’t afraid to give me an edgy, short haircut.

Kim is absolutely fantastic. I saw a picture of someone’s hair on Unilocal that Kim did and I texted her right away. She was very prompt in replying and very informative. I have had bad experiences with another salon so I was a little hesitant, but after I saw the end results of my hair this time around, I loved it. I have very very thick and wavy hair and Kim colored it perfectly. She was so patient and it felt like she really made an effort to color my hair this nicely. She was also really informative with styling tips and how to take care of my hair. Will absolutely come back and I think I have found my salon!

I wanted BIG hair for a military ball and LaShawn KNOCKED it out of the ballpark! My hair was a hit. As a new client, she was extremely professional and gracious! I highly felt like I was one of her long time friends sharing with her what I wanted for the event. She listened and then delivered! She is a great find!

I was making a big decision on finally cutting my hair to shoulder length and I decided to visit this salon after reading all of the good reviews on here. I called in to make an appointment and I was redirected to LaShawn. Let me just say that the moment I spoke with her I knew I would like her a lot! My assumptions were correct when I walked in, she was very friendly and welcoming. She made me feel very comfortable and she also made me laugh. She is very good with conversation so I suggest to be ready to share some stories with her! As for my hair, well, I absolutely love it! She did such a great job and I’m so happy that I was able to have her cut my hair. LaShawn explained all of the products that she used on my hair and gave me suggestions for products that would help me, because I had told her I had an issue with my hair being dry and hard to grow. She made me feel so comfortable, not uneasy at all, because I was cutting off a lot of inches. If I were to need a touch up on my hair I would definitely come back to LaShawn!

La Shawn has been cutting, coloring, and styling my hair for over a year now. I’ve been to various salons throughout the San Diego area, and I can say beyond a shadow of a doubt, that La Shawn is simply the best. She does everything with precision and finesse while also maintaining professionalism. She’s the kind of stylist that needs very little direction but will always check with you to ensure she’s meeting your needs. What’s also quite remarkable about her is that she is extremely versatile in that she has the ability to style both ethnic and non-​ethnic hair. To top it all off, she’s a down-​to-​Earth, caring, humble, and wonderful person both professionally and personally who goes out of her way to keep her clients happy and beautiful. Kim Tran is definitely the go to person for all your hair needs!!! My hair has been dyed multiple times, red purple brown black blonde, all drug store box dyes that definitely dried out my hair! Went to Kim and she saved my hair! Got a cut, wash, and dye treatment that made my hair a lot shinier and softer than it was before! I’ve been a client of hers for years and she does an absolutely amazing job every single time. I have incredibly thick, wavy Asian hair that’s always temperamental, and she somehow manages to tame it like no one else can. Kim can also do dry cuts (which is what I prefer for my own hair), so that’s an added bonus. Definitely book an appointment with her if you want someone who can leave you feeling great and who can constantly deliver fantastic hair time after time!
The salon itself is really comfortable, super unpretentious, and conveniently located right off the freeway — I can’t recommend it enough!

See Kim, she did an absolute AMAZING job on the ombré I requested to get done. She was very thorough about what she was going to do and the reasons behind it, what she was using and how. I came in with a tint of color in my hair from old dye and she blended in the colors all so well, Kim knows exactly what she’s doing and what she’s talking about!

Go see Krystle. Seriously. I went in and basically just asked to have my hair highlighted a little and cut. I gave her free reign (except to tell her-​not too short of a cut), and came out SUPER happy.
Even my boyfriend loves the color. A week later and he’s still telling me that.

I first made an appointment for my daughter with Krystal as Salon Europa off a referral from a friend who goes to her. My kid has a ton of thick, almost wavy hair and likes to grow it out to donate it. It gets out of control as it gets longer so we went to Krystal to get it tamed. She gave her a really cute cut that works with her age, her hair type and her desire to let her hair get long enough to donate. I liked it so much that I made an appointment a couple of months later. She asked how much time I spend styling (um, none, I’m a wash and wear) and lifestyle (like a lot of pulling it back for exercise). She gave me a cut that I love and it works for me. I found my new stylist. The salon is in a little strip mall right off the freeway so it’s easy to get in and out, they are in two shops so it’s pleasant and fairly quiet in each place and doesn’t feel crowded at all.

Moved to the area a year ago & I’ve tried a few places, always left feeling like nothing was done! Called the Salon & was told they were all booked (this was 4 days before Xmas)! I was able to get an appt. with Ernie (thank You Lisa)! He is a miracle worker & I walked out of that salon feeling like a million bucks (& with my thin hair it’s hard to do)! I’ve been going to Krystle for a couple years now and she is the best!
I’ve progressively gotten more daring in my hairstyles and color and she always delivers. I have wavy hair that looks different everyday, but Krystle is able to give me a cut that works well with my inconsistent hair as well as transitions through growth as I tend to wait too long before getting my hair done again. :)
She is accommodating in both her schedule and my requests during my appointment.
I typically e-​mail her pictures of what I want to do to my hair then she gives me her recommendations based on the shape of my face and my hair type. She is a great communicator and very friendly!

I have been getting my hair cut and styled by Robert Martin for years and years. I followed him over from The Mermaid. He is patient, gentle, listens to you and really takes the time with each person.
My sister has been having him take care of her hair, too. Even longer than I have.
He is the best at color, cut and styling. Also reasonably priced.
I would recommend calling Salon Europa and booking with Robert to anyone, male or female.

Before going to Krystle at Salon Europa, I never visited the same stylist more than once. Krystle is amazing with my tough to color Asian hair– she recently did an ombré color and I was so excited with how it turned out.

This review is for Robert Martin, the only person I will let cut my hair. My mom and I have been going to Robert for years and followed him here from another salon in Mira Mesa. He listens to what you want and doesn’t do his interpretation of what you want, which a lot of hairstylists are apt to do.
He is great with colors and cuts and is very reasonably priced ($ 55 for haircuts, about $ 40 – 70 for color AND highlights, depending on how many you get).
While there are many talented stylists, what sets Robert apart is his sweet, gentle and kind personality. He gives us free products for birthdays and holidays, fixes our hairstyling appliances (blow dryers, flat irons, etc.) when they break, and gave me several free haircuts while I was in college to help me out as a struggling student. Basically, he is both extremely talented and a good person.
Bottom Line: I’ve referred many people to Robert and everyone’s been extremely satisfied with his work. Oh yeah, and even though I live in LA now, I still drive down to San Diego every 2 – 3 months just to get my haircut with Robert! He’s that good, I promise :-)

Got a haircut at this salon last month and loved it! The Japanese hair stylist (her name is Sayuri, I believe) knows what she’s doing –she did a great job. She also taught me how to style & take care of my hair properly.
I paid $ 55 including 20+% tip (10% off on your first visit!) and it’s worth every penny.
