Salon on 30th

My husband and I just recently moved, and I had to find a salon that was close to our new home. I stumbled upon Salon on 30^th here on Unilocal and immediately checked their IG for photos and comments. All the reviews were very impressive, so I went ahead and booked my first appointment through their website.
First off, I love loved their website. It was super easy to navigate! I also love the fact that they have options to communicate by phone or email when you book. The initial email was from the owner Marc, and he was great. He was very helpful and called before hand to make sure that I remembered my appointment.
When I got there, I was super amazed by the Salon décor. It was definitely my style. It was very open, super clean. Their mirrors were great and every stylist in the Salon was so nice! My appointment was with Logan. WELL! I call her my «Ghetto Superstar». I am sure you’re guessing why. Haha. Her and I just talked the whole time about our love for music. We immediately discovered how we loved 90s music, so she decided to play her 90s playlist and we both sang to that Ghetto Superstar song. :) I love her! Seriously! She was so much fun to talk to and she actually taught me some tricks on styling my hair :) The other stylists were even singing along! It felt like I was friends with all of them already and that it was just a normal Girls day, and a friend decided to do my hair! Talk about FUN!
I can’t wait to go back this weekend, since the color I’m gearing towards needs some gradual treatment. I highly recommend Salon on 30^th if you’re looking for a fun salon!

It takes baby steps to go from very dark hair (almost black) to a light color. I moved to the SD area from SLO. This was a great way to start my first weekend here.

I scheduled an appointment with Jennifer based on her wonderful & high rated reviews on Unilocal.& she was fantastic!
When I walked in, I was instantly greeted by Mark & wow, he was so personable & friendly! He offered me something to drink & I was pleasantly surprised that they offer beer or wine along with water & the other refreshments salons typically offer you. My type of salon! Jennifer was super sweet & receptive to what I wanted & to several concerns I had regarding my hair. She began with a consultation, then washed my hair, then off to the haircut, added some product that made my hair feel amazing, & blow dry/​style. I loved how my hair turned out! In addition, she gave me sample shampoo products for my hair & gave me a recommendation for shampoo & conditioner that would fit my scalp’s & hair’s needs!
Jennifer’s haircut cost $ 65 & as a first time customer, you get $ 20 off your visit. What a steal!

I have been going to Michael for about 2 years now. He is excellent with my color and cut for my blonde hair. I get compliments all the time from strangers while standing in line at the movies, grocery store and from my own clients.
I highly recommend you try him out.
I also believe that first time clients receive $ 20.00 off their first visit at Salon on 30^th!

Fantastic salon w/​amazing service! From the initial greeting and top notch customer service to the finished product… just overall a great experience! I had my hair done by Ricki, who was not only a delight but an incredibly patient and talented stylist. She listened to what I wanted, was attentive and responsive and made sure my hair was perfect. I could not be happier w/​my color and style! Rissa and Marc are such great people and the salon is just the best! Definitely check it out!

I had long, dry, no fun hair. Now, thanks to Logan’s skills, I feel nothing but trouble. This salon is professional and groovy. Ladies and Gents, you will not be disappointed.

I found this salon on Unilocal,and picked this salon not just because of the reviews, but because of the pictures I found here and on Instagram! I went to my previous stylist for over 2 years, but when I relocated to San Diego seeing her just wasn’t an option. I’d been reluctant to try a new stylist, but my hair was looking drab and I knew it was time.
Anyway– I found my stylist! Michael exceeded any expectations I could have had. From the beginning of the appointment, he made sure I was comfortable, asked questions, and seemed to genuinely care about my hair and what I wanted to do with it. He was also realistic about what I needed to do to repair and maintain the integrity of my hair. He gave me a BOMB balayage, hair-​cut, and blowout. He even took the time to curl my hair so that I could see how to properly do it on low heat without damaging it like I had been.
From start to finish, my entire experience was top-​notch, and I couldn’t be happier! I’ll definitely be recommending Salon on 30^th and Michael to everyone!

Oh my goodness, seriously amazing service! I got lost and was late by 15 minutes and no one was angry at me! On top of that, they offer you beverages to drink and have the best smelling products on earth! Leanna was my hair stylist, and she was super adorable and made me feel comfortable! Love you! I definitely recommend this place. I got my hair dyed back to jet black and she explained the entire process step by step. This is the place to get any dye job done! I have the most stubborn curly Indian hair, and she truly made it manageable! For the first time in 22 years, I have the straightest most frizz free beautiful hair ever! I almost cried with happiness… thank you so much guys! True magicians

I love it! I came in for the first time on Wednesday for a haircut. The lady at the front desk provided a great and welcoming atmosphere. My stylist was talented and nice. I requested a haircut that would be easy to style by myself and I got it! I already got couple compliments. Thanks I’ll be back :)

Stop by the shop for an hair indulging hair experience with Michael Joseph. Last year, I decided to check-​off a bucket list item and bleach my hair blonde. While I have no regrets, my hair suffered plenty.
Michael cared for my hair like delicate silk and in a just a few short weeks, along with regular visits, my hair transformed from dry and brittle to soft and luscious. If you’ve made similar hair choices, he can help you too!
He recently relocated to Salon on 30^th. I was pleasantly surprised to know they carry Davines, natural ingredient hair care line.
If you’re familiar with the area then you know the ambiance is relaxed and inviting. Parking tip from Marc (one of the owners) ample parking across the street behind the Café Madeline. I particularly like the open space that allows natural light. The team is enthusiastic and customer-​centric.
I purchased the Nounu shampoo/​conditioner combo as my hair is still on healing mode. Don’t forget to ask about customer incentive program. More feedback to follow. Stay tuned…

Love this place! All the staff members are wonderful and very friendly! The space is modern and well kept. They offer their customers everything from water, tea to wine. It’s the optimal place to feel pampered and leave looking fabulous! Chelsea is amazing! She is very sweet, accommodating and a very good stylist!

I found this salon here on Unilocal and I was super excited to get my hair done here based on the stellar reviews. I too have nothing but AMAZING things to say about this place! I had virgin hair (never been dyed) and I wanted to go a little lighter. The owner/​manager Marc recommended that since I have such dark black/​brown hair instead of an ombré I should do a balayage hair style! Wonderful suggestion. My 5 star hair stylist was Logan, one of the most amazing, talented, sweet and caring people I’ve actually ever met! She took straight up PREMIUM care of me and took the time to make sure that I had the exact style, color and cut I wanted.
The location was great, not too bad to find parking– I had to walk a block but that’s nothin. The interior of the salon is decorated adorably and it is very cozy in here. The staff is out-​fricken-​standing and they offer hot beverages, which was great for me on this rainy day!
Overall I had a fabulous experience, Logan was hands down the best, and I highly recommend Salon on 30^th to anyone who needs a little hair pick me up! :)

I’m really slow to writing this review but I wanted to post a high quality picture of the results. I’ve had a terrible experience with balayage previously but I saw the awesome reviews for this salon so I figured I would give it a try. I booked an appointment with Leanna and she did an AMAZING job! I got exactly what I wanted and she brought my roots down too so I looked more natural. The best part was that she even brought up the color swatches so I can choose the exact shade I wanted. Definitely coming back!

Salon on 30^th gives me LIFE! I absolutely adore everything about this salon. It’s fantastic.
From the moment you walk in, you’re completely at ease. Although the space is trendy and amazing — it feels welcoming and hospitable. The staff is always smiling and friendly. I love it. Feels like somewhere you want to be.
The stylists are incredible. I usually see Marissa who does incredible things to my blonde hair — and is so freakin sweet, but recently I needed an appointment asap and couldn’t book with Marissa, so I saw Chelsea and I loved her so much! I have been nothing but impressed with the work I’ve had done here.
The attention to detail is unmatched — so meticulous with making sure everything is perfect. And it always is! The prices are a bit on the higher end, but you 100% get what you pay for. This is top notch styling.
Also — they carry my favorite brand of haircare — Davines — which I discovered thanks to these babes. Amazing stuff.
This is my hair home and I hope I never have to go anywhere else. Incredible.

I absolutely LOVE Salon on 30^th! The whole staff is very hospitable and friendly. I am extremely happy with the services I have received here. I have stubborn dark Asian hair and for the longest time I’ve wanted to get it dyed blonde. However, every hairstylist I have gone to has either convinced me not to get it done or settle for a different color. I completely understand that I am no expert on hair so I would reluctantly agree to their suggestions. This time around I was determined to get it done. I did my research and found Salon on 30^th. I had the pleasure of having Marisella as my colorist. She is an amazing hairstylist. She’s very knowledgeable and passionate about styling hair, so I felt very comfortable with her handling my hair. She was able to talk me through the process, letting me know all her concerns upfront, that this may take up to 2 – 3 sessions and what may/​may not happen during the process.
We started the process with a bleaching, which she made sure I knew and was aware of. Afterwards, she rinsed my hair and dyed it a brondish (Browinsh-​Blonde) color, and lastly did a bleach cap before the final rinse/​drying. The whole process took about 3+ hours. If you don’t already notice it, my hair before had 3 different colors in it and she did an amazing job lifting it. The mid-​shaft of my hair length now is a bit darker but it’s not noticeable. I still have one more session before I reach my desired color. She also recommended this hair mask (that is only sold at their store) and it works wonders on my hair. After using it, my hair feels soft, strong, and healthy.
Marisella is an amazing asset to Salon on 30^th. She’s very patient and she genuinely cares about her customers and their hair. She made sure that I was happy with the results thus far and she reassured me that she would do her best to help me get to my dream hair color. Marisella you are amazing! I have gotten so many compliments and inquiries already. I told you I was going to make you famous.

I have never done any type of coloring to my hair before and came here for a balayage and trim. I did not have a picture or any specific of what I wanted but my stylist definitely captured my idea perfectly! I asked for golden highlights that had a natural look. My stylist was amazing! Her name: Liliana? Short blonde hair! Sorry forgot your name :(

I love this salon. The moment I walked in I was greeted by a nice man named Mark. He made me feel right at home, with a tour to start off. I was fortunate to have the lovely Marisella who has a great personality. She made my virgin hair the perfect ombré with fun purples. I had tons of fun getting my hair colored and I am very satisfied with how my hair turned out. During the process of coloring she helped me decide which color to put in my hair since I wasn’t sure about when I would wash it! They even brought me water in a cute jar
Absolutely worth the money and time.
