San Diego Toastmasters 7

I’ve been a member for a few months now and I LOVE IT! I highly recommend checking out the club! If you are looking to become a better leader and more confident speaker and meet some amazing fun people, then this club is for you :)
The meetings are every Thursday evening from 6:30−8. Be prepared to laugh a lot and have a good time!

This is a fantastic Toastmasters Club! The members are welcoming and cultivate a supporting place to work on personal goals as a leader and speaker. If you are looking for a positive environment to improve your presentation skills or conquer that fear of public speaking this may be just the thing :-)

Disclaimer: I’ve been a member of this club since 2006. Bear in mind that *every* Toastmasters club member who likes his club will tell you that his club is the best. And he would be right — for his own reasons and for those of his Club. That said, I am writing this review in the spirit of service to you, the reader.
If you’re looking for a hard-​core public speaking boot-​camp that dresses consistently in business attire and is as serious as a heart attack, then this club is *not* for you. There are such clubs, and for some people, that’s what they think they need or want.
If what you are seeking is to get results — improved speaking and communication skills, hands-​on leadership experience, increased self-​awareness and confidence — this is your club. This club consistently exceeds its performance standards (set by its parent organization — Toastmasters International) every year. It does so in a surprisingly relaxed but very dedicated manner. Members appear to be having fun rather than doing work. This is a results-​based club.
The members of this club are diverse, open-​minded, energetic, and have a service-​oriented attitude. Weekly meetings are attended by about 25 out of the 35 members, on average. Every week, three members deliver prepared speeches, and the next week, a different three prepare theirs, et cetera. Occasionally, value-​added seminars are held my members (this occurs about five times a year).
Guests (average about 6 per meeting) routinely comment that they have had a great experience at the meetings. They are also invited to participate in a speaking role at the meeting (to obtain a direct experience). Often, guests decide to join the club as a member. To be a member, a guest must be voted in by the Club’s current members (standard for all Toastmasters clubs).
Street parking is easily available. Prepare to arrive a bit early to accommodate a walk from your car or transit stop. There is no arrangement necessary to experience a meeting as a guest. Guests are all greeted warmly, and oriented to the proceedings.
I estimate that about 5 percent of the Toastmasters clubs in San Diego operate at a very high level of effectiveness. This club is among them. It has the awards, statistics, and testimonials of its members to prove it.

This club is welcoming, supportive, education, but mostly-​FUN! The group is down-​to-​earth, warm and easy to relax in… I get sooooo nervous speaking in front of groups, and this is the perfect way for me to practice safely, around people who are nervous too! Come by and just check it out-you’ll be glad you did :)))

This is a great toastmasters club! The seventh oldest in the world out of tens of thousands! The members are friendly and accepting, as well as supportive and willing to give direct and honest feedback to help you improve your public speaking and overall communication. I was a member here for about 6 years and will always love this club! They are still like family to me! :) Whether you are looking yo improve personally or professionally, You are in good hands here!

First off, I am indeed biased as I’m a member of this club.
That disclaimer out of the way… I’ve visited A LOT of clubs across San Diego and this club consistently keeps up a high energy, celebratory vibe AND remain authentic.
Meaning, I’ve always gotten great feedback on my speeches including what I did well AND what I could do to improve. It is so important to «keep it real» to actually improve.
Also, this club receives some of the highest quality ratings from Toastmasters International… at least for the last 4+ years. These ratings measure not only health in the number of members but most importantly that members are actually advancing and improving. AKA=Members GET RESULTS quickly!
