Though we are based in San Diego, we are also happy to travel to work onsite if necessary when a painting or work of art is too big or fragile to be moved.
History
Established in 2001.
Sarah Murray is one of only a few qualified paintings conservators here in San Diego specializing in painting restoration and providing more than 28 years of experience in fine art restoration.
Sarah was trained at the Hamilton Kerr Institute, University of Cambridge, England, where she worked on the collections of Cambridge and Oxford University, the Fitzwilliam Museum collection, the Royal Collection at Buckingham Palace, the National Trust of England and Scotland and many other private and public collections.
Her entry into the U.S. was as Associate Paintings Conservator with the Balboa Art Conservation Center in Balboa Park, where she worked for 10 years. Sarah also worked with BACC at museums and collections such as Hearst State Monument, the State Capitol in Sacramento, Laguna Art Museum and many more. In 2001 she established a private studio in downtown San Diego in the East Village, where she offers a full range of art conservation and restoration services.

Business Owner
My name is Sarah Murray and I am the main painting conservator and restorer behind Sarah Murray Paintings Restoration. In addition to offering 28+ years of experience in fine art conservation, I am one of only a few qualified paintings conservators here in San Diego specializing in painting restoration.
In addition to holding a B.A. degree, my professional qualification is a post-graduate diploma in Paintings Conservation from the University of Cambridge. I was Assistant Paintings Conservator at the National Gallery of Scotland, and then came to San Diego to fill the position of Associate Paintings Conservator at the Balboa Art Conservation Center in Balboa Park in 1991. In 2001 I established a private studio in downtown San Diego in the East Village, where I offer a full range of art conservation and restoration services.
