Scripps Rock Dental

I called to price out and schedule a cleaning. Did not need a thing else, only a cleaning. My bill was over doubled at checkout with 3 surprise charges I was never made aware of. I caught it and brought it to their attention.
The office later called and had politely adjusted the bill for me.
For the most part great staff.

Casey always does a great job with my teeth. She goes the extra mile to make sure every tooth is sparkling white! Also, Dr. Hatch is a true professional when it comes to keeping my teeth in perfect shape. I highly recommend Scripps Rock Dental.

I just completed my implant which went so smooth and painless that I am blown away. I now again can SMILE with confidence thanks to Dr Heather Russell and her team. Thanks Dr Russell :)

Great office, very professional. They are all professionals and very good at their craft. I did not give them 5 stars because they are overpriced and tend to push dental work to make extra money. At times, I feel like they push certain procedures so they can make a few extra bucks. Great work, but at times you will feel like you are working with some used car salesman.

Ive had a lot of dental work done in the past. One of my crowns started to bother me so i decided to contact these guys. I was surprised by their availability and how quickly they got me into the chair. Super professional environment and easy going staff! I will definitely use them again if im in the area! Rock on!

This place used to be great.
Once they moved to this new building they started acting a whole new way.
They’re like pushy car salesmen.
I didn’t know if I was in there for a tooth to be looked at or someone to make me feel like my mouth was the worst thing they’ve ever looked at and it’s going to cost $$$$$$$$$ to fix it.
I’m sorry my my pearly whites don’t need that kind of abuse. They also are way more expensive them other places.
I’m sorry but the constant phone harassment after I left also to come in and get these vanity services that I just had to have are very annoying.
Won’t be coming back ever again.

From the time I entered the lobby, met the receptionist through X-​Rays, teeth clean, dentist evaluation and explanations of suggested treatments I received first class care and a most enjoyable atmosphere. No pressure what so ever on the suggested follow up treatments, the recommendations were thoroughly explained. I will be returning for a crown and a minor cosmetic procedure. Having priced these treatments at other dental offices I know the value and quality are at Scripps Rock Dental certainly a no brainer for me. I live more than a 100 miles from the office and wouldn’t consider going anywhere else for my dental needs.

I worked with Casey again today, she is fantastic! There was a song playing on the sound system and I just had to SoundHound it, and they literally turned up the music and take my phone to put it up near the speaker so we could figure out the name of the track. What other dental place does that for you?

If you are looking for a truly great dentist and dental office look no further than Scripps Rock Dental. I truly believe that Dr. Hatch is one of the best dentists in all of San Diego. I have been a patient of Dr. Hatch for at least 5 or 6 years. When I first became a patient my teeth and gums were a mess. I can honestly say my teeth and gums are in the best shape they have ever been in including when I was a child.
As an older man in his 60’s thru out my life time I have had many dentists most of them not so good. During that time I’ve only had one other dentist (other than Dr. Hatch) that I liked and respected and he sold his practice, moved and I inherited a new dentist that wasn’t as competent and needed to pay for their new practice. I understand fully the feelings about being pressured for work that seems like it might be unnecessary and that drives a lack of trust in your dentist as some reviewers have posted here. I also have experienced those feelings with other dentists. I so distrusted my last dentist that I neglected my teeth for several years because I didn’t want to see him and hadn’t found a good new dentist. Please be assured that if you have bad teeth and want the best dental care it won’t be cheap.
I knew I needed to find a new dentist and asked around, checked Unilocal and the Internet, but what ultimately made me try Scripps Rock Dental was a referal from a former boss. I walked into the office for my first visit with great trepidation wondering if I was going to find a dentist I could trust who did good work. I was even more worried after seeing the beautiful, clean office with fancy and expensive stafe of the art looking equipment wondering how much this was going to cost. After the examination and consultation a comprehensive treatment plan was presented which was a major sticker shock for me. I think I went in because I needed a crown fixed right away and despite my fears I agreed to have it fixed after getting an estimate. The cost was a little more than what I used to pay for ok work. Wow I was blown away by my new crown. Dr Hatch is truly an expert and artist with his state of the art equipment. He trains dentists from all over the country on how to use the epuiptment like he has in his office. You can be assured the other dentists in his office are experts too on the crown equipment trained by one of the best around. My new crown was made in 2 hrs and was perfect. It is unbelievable how it fits, feels and looks.
Back to my treatment plan. I had just lost my job so I only did the work by priority each year that my insurance would cover. So if you have bad teeth and need a lot of work take charge and only do the work you can afford. Sure I paid a little more for my dental work here than other places, but I trully feel I get expert care and my teeth show it. I was even paying @ $ 54 twice a year for perio maintence that my insurance doesn’t cover basically for having 4 cleanings a year to improve my gum health. Now at my cleanings My gums are so good I think I can go back to twice or three times yearly cleanings. I get great complements from the hygenists on my teeth now. Speaking about the hygenist they are really good along with the ultrasonic cleaners they use now I never have any plaque. Plus I brush and floss good which helps.
I’ve had many procedures done her over the years due to my bad teeth and all have been performed expertly. I have trouble with my jaw getting numb and usually require two shots but the dentists here and the one other dentist I had before that I liked get it right the first time with no pain.
To sum up if you want a dentist you can trust that costs a little more but does expert work use Scripps Rock Dental.

I will start off by saying that I never write reviews. I also never went to the dentist regularly before this. I stumbled upon this group out of convenience… It’s across the street from my office… Lucky me. I got my cleaning and have long desired to have porcelain veneers for my front teeth as I had a traumatic fall as a child and my adult teeth grew in chipped and crooked.
I clearly expressed my concern that if I was going to pay big money for cosmetic dentistry, I wanted Perfect AND natural looking teeth. No chicklets, no regrets. I got my veneers in December with Dr Hatch who listened to everything I said and truly performed extraordinary work. Extraordinary. People who have never met me think my teeth are real. People who know me are seriously in awe and compliment the beauty of his work. Best of all, I can see it, and I feel the same way. Every single morning I look in mirror. He is wonderful, his staff is wonderful. They have been extremely understanding in regard to my hectic schedule and I have never felt anything other than welcome.
Bottom line, I used to hate the dentist, I don’t anymore. I’m very very happy. This is a 100% honest review. Go see Dr Hatch and crew, thank me later.

Best dentist’s office I have found so far. I have had lots of dental work and lots of dentists. I have now had 4 appointments at Scripps Rock Dental and have found them to be efficient, courteous and caring. And, they have nitrous oxide, which is important to me as I am very nervous patient. I recommend them.

I had an excellent time as a new patient at Scripps Rock Dental. Diana is an amazing hygienist and cleaned my teeth better than I have ever had them cleaned before at other dentists. Doc Russell was very nice and explained any issues I had in detail and showed me pictures of the area so I could see the problem. 100% pro. With so many dentists trying to recommend unnecessary treatments it is nice to have a dentist I can trust. A+

I’ve had several fillings, a root canal redone due my previous dentist doing a horrible job, as well as the routine cleanings done there since ~2008.
great people, great place, never plan on going anywhere else.

Wonderful experience with the dentists and hygienists! Office is warm and inviting and the office staff are very friendly! There is some pressure to get more work done, but if you are firm and let them know you just want a cleaning, then they will comply! Overall a greal local Scripps Ranch dentist practice!

1^st visit was Awesome, Dr. Hatch is a True professional. He was able to get me right in and take care of my crown the same day! 2^nd visit was also pleasant, went in for a cleaning and had a cavity, no big deal.
BUT here is the real problem, I was harrased about 6x, «K» calling me to schedule cleaning, i responded i will call you to schedule, i even blocked their number
Then i had a real emergency, My bridge loosened up and fell out, She called me back after i left a message. She responds i will call you first thing in the morning. She never called.LOL.
Found another dentist that is professional and i dont feel like i am buying a car and pressure to sign and seal the deal!

The pressure sales after my dental appointment with the «account rep» was very uncomfortable and I did feel like they brought in the «guns» for the kill aka SALE. They work hard at booking the next visit right then on the spot. They list out in order of importance which procedure you need first. The charges they put down for your insurance coverage are incorrect and misleading. They flat out lied and told me certain procedures were covered by my insurance and months later I received billing from them for same procedure. The «rock n roll» theme is cute but really, would you rather deal with an honest business or listen to some Rock n roll? I highly recommend you think again before choosing this Dental Group.
The dentistry and hygienist were good. The administration, billing, and pressure sales are terrible.

The doctors and staff are very nice. I went in for a few treatments, but will not be returning because I felt a little like I was buying a car.
They lay out the proposed treatments in order of what you need done «now» and what can wait. They told me some of the things on the list were just «recommendations» to get done «at some point» even using the word «cosmetic». Then after I got the «now» ones taken care of I got phone calls about every month or so to book the other treatments. I politely reminded them that I did not plan on having these done, but still more calls.
