Sensation Nails & Spa

This is one of the best nail salons in San Diego! The salon is very clean and The staff are extremely welcoming! From the moment we walked through the door they made us feel like we were the only customers in there. I had never had gel nails before, so I decided to try it out. My experience was wonderful! My gel manicure lasted for almost a month before returning and during that time we had go camping at the beach and no problems! They really did an excellent job! Pedicures are great and last a long time too. Thank you to Jenny and all the staff for always treating us well and doing a great job! If you are looking for a good salon, this is the place!

Love this place! Newly remodeled and always clean with plastic inserts they change out with each customer. Jenny does a great job on my nails and the never chip or break and she so happy every time I see her! She always gets me a seat and I live that she and her staff remember my name every time!
Anna gives awesome foot massages and her pedicures always look great! She puts me to sleep every time!

BRING CASH FOR TIP! This place was great! They treated me well, were decently affordable, and was very clean. They did an amazing job on my nails, especially in comparison to other nail salons. They didn’t over grind my nails or make my cuticles bleed. VERY happy with the results!
FYI, they ONLY take cash tips and have one of this mini ATMs if you didn’t bring cash (but then you have to pay the fee). They deserve the tip, so don’t forget your moola or bring your debit card. :)

I finished the San Diego marathon yesterday and was desperate for a pedicure. The ladies here are super nice, very professional, and gave an excellent pedicure. This is a brand new place and I’d highly recommend it!

SO CLEAN… SO FRIENDLY… JUST WONDERFUL! I absolutely love coming here the service is wonderful the environment is just as great. The manger Jenny always greets me with a smile :)

This place is the best! I am a regular customer and have been coming her for almost a year after hopping around trying to find a place that’s fit for me. I finally found it! The salon is VERY clean and all of the employees are kind and make sure that you’re taken care of. Nowadays it’s hard to find a place where everyone in the salon provides great service but this is the place. Jenny is very friendly and remembers everyone who comes in. The service is fast and I never wait long. You will definitely be taken care of if you come here. I think that anyone who comes here and does not like it must have caused some type of problems or conflict. The work is professional and neat, not just once but every time I come. Try it out and trust me you won’t be disappointed! I never leave reviews but for a place this fantastic I had to leave a good review.

I’m giving 2 stars bc it was clean, but other than that this had to have been the most frustrating experience I’ve had while getting a pedicure.
I came in wanting to get a pedicure ($ 22) I sit down & I tell her I have gel on already. She informs me that it’s a $ 5 charge to take it off. No surprise there. I say it’s okay. If would have warned me that it was going to take 25 mins to take it off I wouldn’t have proceeded. Also if I knew she was going to try to file it all away & end up hurting the skin around my nails I definitely wouldn’t have said it’s fine. She does let my toes soak in the aluminum foil & while that’s happening she gives me a massage for about 78 seconds in total. Again, this is disappointing, but it’s fine. She finally gets the gel off & I’m relived. She starts painting my toesies & every other second she’s moving my foot 2 cm forward & then 2 cm back. & keeps doing that. Which I mean gets annoying. & at this point I can’t wait to just leave.
This was the first time I have ever tipped my nail lady less than $ 6. I have never been the customer to constantly complain, & I didn’t in front of the woman.
I’m not surprised this place had so many stars bc maybe other employees are super amazing. Just this woman wasn’t.

Went back to give this place another try, this time just for a manicure/​pedicure since the main issues I had here were with the gel manicures. The owners refused service to me based on my Unilocal review as soon as I walked in. I understand that is their right, but I am now updating my review to 1 star since I think it is unprofessional.

I have been here two times. I will say that they are very friendly and accommodating. They are also very clean! They have a wide variety of colors for both gel and regular polish. Their chairs are comfortable, and they use the best products. Having said that, I will not be back. Their gel did not last but a week! I had chipping within 2 days. The first time I thought it was a fluke, by the second time I knew it wasn’t. I did notice that at other places where the gel lasted me 2 – 3 weeks that they use 3 – 4 coats of gel, here they only used 2 coats on me. I think that makes a rather big difference.

Stopped in to get a pedicure and full set after seeing the great reviews on Unilocal.Jenny and her team are fantastic and made my nails look beautiful. Jenny also did a great job on my eyebrows. I will definitely be back at this salon next time I’m in town.

This place was great! My friend and I walked in for a pedicure with massage and it was definitely worth it. They took their time on the massage and it was very relaxing. The only weird thing is my nail polish took forever to dry on my toes, maybe it was all the waxes and oils they used. An hour after they were done, I touched my nail to make sure it was hard and the polish was still liquid and wiped right off! I would definitely go back but next time I will not touch my toes for a much longer time!

Been here twice now, they are so good i want to share! Great people, amazing customer service! By far the best pedicure iv had. Great long massage with mani pr pedi, they really take the time! Thank you!

I love this place. I’ve tried a few in town and keep coming back here. Jenny usually does my mani-​pedi although I secretly wish it was Vin… the boy is a cutie! Come on it’s Hillcrest gurl! LOL
That said, I’ll continue to go back because they give a great mani-​pedi and they have an ATM inside so there is no awkwardness at the end if you can’t tip via your credit card.

This place is hands down the BEST nail salon in San Diego they are extremely clean, you would never know you walked into a nail salon. If your looking for a relaxing pedicure with extreme attention to detail complete with a long massage… This is the spot for you!
The staff is always friends and helpful which is always a plus!
If you looking for a manicure or full set… This is the spot for you if you’d like your nails done by professionals… I’ve tried spots that were cheaper which was the quality I received and had to shamefully go in to Sensation nails so Jenny would fix them for me…
Jenny is amazing every time she does my nails they last for at least a month without needing a fill… Oh and none have ever broken… Not sure what she does but it’s perfection!

I was welcomed with happy faces as soon as I stepped inside! This spa is very cute and modern with a manicure bar & great furniture and spa pedicure chairs! Jenny is a doll and very talkative, and the guy did a great job on my claws. Definitely coming back!

By the way, after the owner saw my review instead of apologizing to me for the bad service I received he decided to message me and tell me that what I wrote about his business was UNTRUE and to «clarify» that his nail tech is a «professional»
How does he know all this when he was not present at the time of my horrible service?

First and foremost this place is super clean. Love that they use the disposable liners. Love that new tools come out of sanitized packets.
I just moved to the area and had a mani/​pedi with Cindy and Ray this afternoon. I already can’t wait to go back! I can’t remember the name, but I had the #3 mani/​pedi combo, which I think was about $ 55, but it included a mask on my legs, scrub on my feet, scrub on my hands/​arms and a cool mint mask on my arms. Then after all that your normal lotion massage, too! I am pretty sure that I was being massaged for about 30 minutes straight, which was heaven.
The massage chairs are comfy and they have a great selection of OPI/​Essie nail polish along with a couple of other, smaller brands. My nails look great (no streaks or polish missing from the sides/​corners) and my feet feel amazing.
Really can’t wait to go back!

Let me begin by saying I’m from Miami, Florida and this is my first time visiting San Diego, California. I found this salon on Unilocal and OMG I had the best experience ever. The employees are so nice & sweet, and my nails are amazing. This is my first coming to there establishment and I recommend them to everyone.
The service I chose was a Full Set of Gel Shellac (which is a blend of gel and nail polish) with a glitter finish and a basic spa pedicure with clear polish. I’m totally in love with my nails

Great service ! They are wonderful and the experience is great overall !
