Best cookies in San Diego!
The pricing is pretty reasonable based on the quality of the cookie. I ordered half a dozen cookies and they give you one for free for around $ 11. I got two golden oaties, which are their oatmeal chocolate chip; two almond toffee, two peanut butter, and one semi sweet walnut. The best ones were the almond toffee and semi sweet walnut. The oatie and peanut butter were both good, but slightly drier than the other two.
My only complaints are the parking and the customer service. There is parking in the front, however since it is in a small strip mall it does get busy and full fast. Also their customer service here isn’t the best, at times you are often rushed and the employees seem annoyed to be there.

Best cookies in San Diego! Hard to describe a cookie online, but this is a must stop every time I visit San Diego.

Ive been here about 3 – 5 times and different times of the day. Ill prob be coming here earlier in the day. The time i came later in the day the cookie was a bit hard. My fav was white chocolate macadamia nut. When i bought it in the morning the cookie was soft chewy. Overall i give it a 4 stars. Employees were nice. Possibly a but more cheery in the morning lol. But not rude. I will be coming here in the mornings where cookies seem to be a bit fresher

This is definitely a place you have to experience on your own. Had I read some of these reviews before I went I probably wouldn’t have went. However we were next door getting breakfast and were intrigued by the killer cookies I was so full from breakfast I wasn’t even in a cookie mood however my boyfriend immediately started making selections. she then put this white chocolate chip cookie up for us to sample and I was HOOKED! Amazing amazing amazing! It was not just a sugar cookie with mixins it was flavorful and rich absolutely delicious. Customer service was great cracked some jokes, got our cookies and was on our way!
I would say try it and if you don’t like it the Mexican place next door has amazing food lol

As much as I love the California Killer Cookie, there is something about the Milk Chocolate Cookie that makes me die a little inside everytime.

3.5. Eh. I had this location bookmarked for so long… I perhaps had set my expectations too high. Pregnant with twins and needing a salty and sweet fix. husbter and I came down to noms on fish tacos followed by cookies. It was a weekday, not that crowded but admittedly toward the end of the day (but no where near the closing hour).
The girl behind the counter couldn’t have been less enthused about life and about the super pregnant lady before her, eagerly eyeing the row of cookies. The order was simple. one of each. They were out of several flavors. but it would have been a simple dozen+. but she still failed to put one of each in the box. (I know because I was eyeing one specific special flavor that I took a picture of. and that failed to make it into my box). Maybe she was having an off day. but it’s a bad idea to omit cookies from a pregnant woman who is armed with a Unilocal account.
The cookies weren’t warm (again. I get it. end of day)… but they were all just ok. I wasn’t a huge fan of many of the flavors (e.g. peanut butter and oatmeal raisin). The style of cookie is the thick, homemade kind of feeling, but the flavor profile or something was missing on some of the variations. The best were the ones with nuts — walnuts or macadamia. The others were just. meh. Ok at best.
For the price, I think I prefer the Cravory which have a much softer texture and more creative approach to flavor variations. Perhaps I need to revisit Biff’s when the cookies are fresh and warm. and when a more attentive person is working the counter to help add to the experience. Overall, nothing special and I don’t think I would ever crave the cookies to make the trek down. These were just OK.

I’m not the biggest cookie fan, but I dropped by Uncle Biff’s to see what the hype is all about. It’s a small joint without that many bells/​whistles so you do get that family-​run business sense. The people working there were very friendly and quick to give samples of their goodies. When I asked for the cookie I was interested in (white chocolate macadamia) the gentleman asked if I want a fresh/​hot one versus one in the display case. I had to get that fresh-​out-​the-​oven one. I don’t think any other cookie place has proposed this question to me – but I haven’t been to that many small-​time cookie joints. The cookie was tasty and I can now see why lots of people this this place. They serve milk/​soda/​water also. For all your killer cookie needs, please proceed to Uncle Biff’s!

I stopped in at Uncle Biff’s and grabbed three cookies to go. It’s a pretty modest looking place, just a long cookie counter and not a lot of seating. But the big glass display case is the real show, since the cookies are all that matter, right? I picked the Unc’s Chunk, California Killer (with nuts), and Golden Oatie cookies.
The Golden Oatie was decent. There was a good oat flavor, but it was fairly dry. I think the oats really sucked the moisture out of it.
Unc’s Chunk was pretty good, and had a lot of peanut butter flavor. The milk chocolate chips worked well with it too. However, it suffered from the same dryness as the Golden Oatie and crumbled into several pieces as I picked it up to take my first bite.
The California Killer was easily the best cookie of the bunch. It stayed together in one piece, but was incredibly soft and moist in the center with some nice crispiness around the edges. The white and dark chocolate, walnuts, and pecans are a fantastic combination. It’s no wonder why this is Uncle Biff’s signature.
I’m giving Uncle Biff’s 4 stars because the cookies tasted great overall, and I’m hoping the two dry cookies had just been cooked earlier in the day or were part of an «off batch.» If that’s just the way they are, though, I would probably bump down one star.

I’m bumping up the rating to 3 stars, as I feel the overall quality Is only 2.5. Staff deserves 2 stars. Parking in front and quick service bumps up to three stars. Obviousy, I’m disappointed in giving this low review, but frankly my dear… they don’t deserve better! !
I ordered a mixture of six cookies +one free for about $ 11.Excited to immediately try some, I had two bites of the two versions of the chocolate chip cookies… one was milk & the other semi-​dark chocolate. The difference in taste & flavor was very minimal. Texture was medium soft and slightly chewy.
When I got home my wife and I attacked all the cookies for a «tasting» and comparison. What was shocking and surprising, despite tasting: Double oatie w Chocolate chip, double fudge, milk chocolate, semi-​sweet chocolate, oatmeal raisin w walnut, semi-​sweet walnut, and almond toffee, we agreed that there was practically no difference in taste, sweetness or allure, with the exception of the small difference in the almond toffee, which was the lone unique cookie.
It’s like they use the same batter in all, and make minor variations as desired. It did not satisfy my taste buds looking for explosive flavors and sweetness.
I’d rather go Trader Joe’s and get their better quality for half the price!
Best thing I could say is the display looks good, and one gets to immediately satisfy that sugar hankering in relatively short order, with parking in front.

One of my dreams is to own a bakery that sells just REALLY good stuff.
If that ever happens, I might have to stay away from cookies because Uncle Biff’s has some dang good ones, and I don’t think I could top it.
The cookies are pretty big and fluffy. If you’re into slightly crispy edges and super soft middles, these are for you. They are pretty pricey at $ 10.50 for a half dozen (they throw in an extra, so 7 for about $ 11), so I wouldn’t recommend these too often unless that’s within your cookie budget. But I am not your money manager so do whatever the heck you want. Go nuts, these cookies are really good.
My faves were (not surprisingly) the milk chocolate chip, and (surprisingly) the oatmeal. The oatmeal is not as cinnamon-​y as I am used to, so it tastes more like brown sugar and butter and it’s just really good. I might stop putting cinnamon in mine to be more like these!
All the flavors are really good, though, and this is a fun treat or good gift for a guest/​party/​etc. It’s located super conveniently right off the 163 and has sufficient parking unless you are really unlucky, and I would certainly recommend checking this place out!

Freshest cookies I’ve ever bought at a cookie place! Absolutly loved all of them. We were greeted upon walking in, which is very important to me. And it was very quick for us to get our cookies. (Around 2pm on a monday). Like I said LOVE THEM! I would have taken a picture but they didnt last that long… Definitely give them a shot!

We stopped by for an after dinner dessert, but I was surprised to see the selection had been completely depleted. Being that it was a Saturday night, I assumed that business was poppin’ and that the limited selection proved that these cookies really are amazing. Although they were out of the Killer Cookie, I settled for a White Chocolate Macadamia, which definitely didn’t let me down. Hopefully, next time I come back they will have a complete inventory and I’ll get my Killer Cookie fix.

I got a double peanut butter cookie and a Unc. chunk from uncle Biff’s, I really recommend Uncle Biff’s when you are looking for a SWEET TREAT.

All I can say. is the best cookie shop I’ve ever been to.
I tried their milk chocolate chunk and double chocolate. Mine was still warm, which added to the melt in your mouth tastiness.
But only if the girl who helped me could of been a little nicer. All I asked was for one of the cookies in a separate bag and she looks at me like had a disease or something.

Is that enough of a review? Feels like it should be. Nevertheless, I will elaborate.
I came in here for the first time this morning. My husband and I had been searching for a good cookie shop in San Diego (he is borderline addicted to cookies). It’s a small, unassuming shop on University Ave. You wouldn’t be able to tell by its simple façade that just through the doors lies HEAVEN!
First things first, prices here might be considered a bit on the expensive side (relatively). It’s $ 2 per cookie if you’re buying singles. Not a big deal to me, but included as a disclaimer.
The employees here are awesome! I realized after my purchase was complete that they had my husbands favorite flavor (oatmeal chocolate chip) and asked if he could ring up two more cookies. He said they need a $ 5 minimum to run cards, did I want another cookie? I said sure why not, and for doing so he threw in an extra cookie for free. Dude was awesome! I wish I had gotten his name!
Now for the good part… The cookie. These cookies are perfect! There are perfect ratios of dough to chocolate and the perfect amount of that soft, straight from the oven, moist amazingness. The oatmeal chocolate chip is out of this world amazing, and the white chocolate is incredible! My husband tried the California killer cookie (dark and white chocolate with pecans and walnuts) and his face looked like he had found nirvana (which I guess he probably had).
Parking is easy, and it’s right off the 163 so it’s easy to get to. Overall, it looks like we have finally found our San Diego cookie spot!

I just wanna give the California killer cookie a marvelous review! Love The story behind Uncle Biff’s. I’m not big on cookies but those killer cookies are delicious. One bite just made me melt for more and so I went back the next day too.
I’ve got to order twice with two different girls serving the cookies. And it’s sad that both girls behind the glass counter didn’t seem as excited and enthusiastic as me when I walk in and select my cookies.

Fantastic cookies. We were eating next door at Oscars and we walked by and all you could smell is delicious cookies. So we walked in and got a few. The cookies were nice and soft, practically melts in your mouth.

I first tried these cookies when someone brought them into my work. I thought they were pretty good. I was driving by and decide to stop by. The prices are a little steep for a cookie but once I tried the chocolate chip with toffee almonds I changed my mind. This cookie was unbelievable and is now one of my favorite cookies.
I also tried the fudge which I thought was a little dry and didn’t have a whole lot of chocolate flavor. The oatmeal chocolate chip was very good. The plain chocolate chip was good and my son loves his California killer cookie which was I believe semi sweet chocolate chips and white chocolate. We got him the version without nuts. I love the fact they have most of their cookies available with or without nuts.
The service was pretty good and employees friendly. We could watch a gentleman making cookies as we were buying ours.
I will definitely be back for the chocate chip toffee almond cookie.

It’s true, these cookies are the bomb. They even have warm broken up samples on the counter to try before you buy. She told me holidays are super busy so if you’re planning to order some as gifts, you gotta get your order in early! I was just stopping in for a half dozen (get 1 free!), but I think I was told you can also just get the dough and bake the cookies yourself! Now where’s my milk?!

Love cookies in general, but Uncle Biff’s is on my top…3. Yes! All their cookies are soft & chewy. Baked to perfection. Lots of choices left around 4PM on a Saturday. Got to try a bunch of them. My favorites were the «Double Fudge,» «Semi-​Sweet Chocolate Chip,» «Killer» & «White Chocolate Macadamia Nut» cookies. It was $ 22.90 for a dozen plus 2 free cookies totaling 14 cookies. Awesome deal! Will be back to get my cookie fix!

Small spot, but great cookies. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. For $ 1.95 a cookie, a bigger cookie would be better, but who needs those extra sugar and carbs!

When I reviewed the cravory, I thought I found the best cookies in san diego. I still believe the cravory has the most inventive cookies on the block, but Uncle Biff’s OWNS classic cookies. Cravory doesn’t even compare.

each cookie is perfectly mastered to be crispy on the outside while just mildly chewy on the inside. They can get pretty damn expensive, but you can get a good discount if you buy the day old cookies. shoot mine never last longer than a day anyway.
Parking is super easy even in hillcrest since they are located in a strip mall. They take credit cards. They have many options to choose from in many packages, including gift packages. You can even just buy the dough, or go crazy and preorder brownies!

Today, 10/​21/​2015, is «Back to the Future» day. I thought the convergence of this, the name of the shop, and the great ratings and reviews this place has on Unilocal!would make it a slam dunk for a memorable and delicious experience. Unfortunately, it was not.
First clue: an 8 year old article posted to the wall that lauded the place, and demonstrated that the price per cookie has risen 45¢ since then, 20¢ of that in just the last month or so (based on the price quoted by Christie L. in a recently posted review). All this despite using bulk ingredients bought at Costco, according to the posted article.
Second clue: $ 1.95 for a cookie?!? The cookies better be real, real good good or extraordinarily large – they are neither.
Third clue: actually eating one of them, actually three. I think they are really overly sweet, but otherwise not special or distinctive. Aside from the toffee almond in the Almond Toffee cookie, All the flavors were not that different. The other cookies I tried were the «Killer“cookie and chocolate macadamia nut.
Verdict: overhyped, over priced, and too sweet. I would have enjoyed store bought, and home baked, Nestlé’s Tollhouse cookies more and would have spent much less per cookie making them.

I don’t get the hype at all. If you are going to have «killer cookies» in the name it’s going to be killer good right? Wrong! I had this place bookmarked because of all the great reviews and I personally just wasn’t impressed. I guess they have a cookie that hasn’t lost a competition it’s ever been entered in to date. I walked in and it’s just a small glass case of cookies. The girl working wasn’t the friendliest and made me feel rushed to choose a cookie. I explained that it was my first time coming here and that I’d like a moment to look over the selections offered. Hubby and I picked out a couple of cookies and once we got back to car we couldn’t wait to try them.
Unc’s Chunk Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie ($ 1.75) — Yes, the name of the cookie is long and ridiculous lol. The cookie seriously lacked peanut butter flavor. It was very bland and the worst peanut butter cookie that I have ever eaten. The cookie crumbled and wouldn’t even stay together. Why only 4 chocolate chips in the cookie? If you are going to give this cookie such a long name and include the words chunk and chip in it, I expect a lot more than the 4 stragglers on top.
Almond Toffee ($ 1.75) — This looked like it was going to be good and then I bit into it. The cookie was very oily and the almonds were so rock hard that I thought a tooth broke.
I really was excited to try this place however it simply didn’t live up to the expectations I had and the price for what I got wasn’t good.

Attention cookie lovers stop by this place! I’m picky about my cookies I like them soft and chewy. Every cookie here meets my criteria for an amazing cookie. They have so many great flavors but my favorite cookie is the white chocolate chip with macadamia nuts and just the plain white chocolate chip. I could eat a dozen by myself but I hold myself back. If you haven’t tried these cookies here you are missing out!

Well I’m still alive, so much for Uncle Biff’s KILLER cookies. What the cookies failed to accomplish in killing me, instead turned into the killing of something else. They kill your workout, so you better triple-​quadruple your workout at the gym if you’re planning to splurge on these.
All jokes aside, the cookies themselves were delicious, maybe not so good at being assassins though. They can leave that for Uncle Bill’s cookies.
The cookie list was decently sized, with the usual options like chocolate chip, macadamia white chocolate, oatmeal raisin, and peanut butter chocolate chip. And then there were a few other nut and chocolate combinations that I deeply enjoyed.
I had them right when the doors opened at 10 am so I had the fresh batch. Imagine soft, chewy, and warm cookies all in my mouth.
I really liked this place, but the downside was the lack of space and the pricing. We were left with no place to sit and enjoy those crumbly treats, so we had to enjoy them in the confines of my car on a hot and sunny San Diego day. The pricing isn’t all that bad for six, they even have a deal where you get a seventh free. Purchasing anymore than that though, you better have that cash flow. All in all, I’d drop by again if I happen to be in the area.

These cookies are killer! you walk in and are immediately overwhelmed by the amazing smell as they are baking fresh cookies around the clock. They have a wide variety of cookies and what sets them apart from a place like Ms. Field’s is their cookies are thick! I like all their cookies but one of my favorites is the «Uncle Biff’s Killer Cookie». The white chocolate, cranberries, nuts & goodness that are in this cookie will have you coming back for more!
One downside is the parking. The lot is very small so parking can be an issue.

California killer cookie– with/​without nuts, I chose the one with nuts… Soooo fresh, so soft and chewy! You can definitely taste the quality in each individual ingredient. The chocolate chunks were huge and sweet. The walnuts were so fresh, as if they had just been shelled! Doesn’t even taste like its been through the oven.
Toffee– was also delicious. Large chocolate chips and the freshest tasting WHOLE glazed nuts. Yum!
Peanut butter/​chocolate chip– the PB is actually a bit subtle, and the chocolate chips are huge! These cookies ended up crumbling pretty easily though.
Overall, fresh, great quality, and very sweet! Just one and you’ll definitely get your sugar fix!
An awesome cookie bakery definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area. They also make cookie cakes and packages.

I tried a few of them: chocolate chip, choco chip peanut butter, white chip/​maca nut, and one with choc chip & candied almonds. Holy shit they were good!
I’m not so sure on the price because they were a gift, but definitely check it out of you’re a whore for cookies. Super fresh and moist.
