We have provided our clients with great customer service and education. Set-​In-​Stone Restoration, Inc. is a member of several stone advisory committees, Marble Institute of America, Stone and Tile Pros, Better Business Bureau, and is currently on the committee for IICRC in developing and setting the standards for Natural Stone Restoration.

I recently had my bathroom countertop modified and refinished and I’m exceedingly pleased with the results. Robert is a professional: he arrived on time, happily answered my questions, got the work done on schedule and as promised. I had rust around the faucet and phoned around to see who would be willing to fix it. Most places ignored my call, and one place told me that it was hopeless. When I phone Set-​in-​Stone, Dave answered. He couldn’t promise that all the rust would come out, but he offered to come and try to repair it or point me to a product that I could use to repair it myself. I chose to have Set-​in-​Stone come out. I wanted to know that a professional had done his best instead of me guessing whether I had done enough. Robert came out and worked on the rust spot. The rust stain is now 1⁄3 as dark as it was before and not as noticeable with the faucet handle re-​installed. Thanks Dave and Robert for the great fix!

I read all the positive and negative reviews, but upon talking to David and his prompt response to touring our new home and quote, I decide to take the chance. I was very pleased with the end result. Although Set-​In-​Stone could fix some of the cracks and evenness of the marble floor, the end result was speculator. They literally took a dull marble floor and polished it to effect of a glass mirror. His team were very professional and on time. In talking with other highly rated companies in San Diego area, they either didn’t get back to me or couldn’t start the job till another month and half. Set-​In-​Stone was able to schedule this in a weeks time and get it done in less then 2 days. I would definitely recommend them to other friends for their service and cost.

100% professional, on-​time and flexible with our wishes! David and Robert both drove completion of our relatively small project (travertine floors) with only minor complications, scratches and flaws for them to fix. They polished, extracted and sealed the entire floor in 24 hours — WOW! Price is fantastic and we will DEFINITELY use them again in the future. Thanks gentlemen!

First off, David and his team of guys did an amazing job! So if you need to get your floors fixed up and cleaned then he is the guy to call. I had about 5 years of wear and tear (cracks, small holes, ingrained dirtt) on my kitchen travertine tiles and Set In Stone was able to restore it and make it look brand-​new. I was extremely happy not only with the finished job, but also the customer service aspect as well. David gave me a quick and extremely fair estimate and was great with scheduling an appointment time that worked well for my tenants. All in all, I am a really satisfied customer and will be calling David again next time.

I am so impressed with the professionalism and customer service! I had a tile floor/​grout that really needed to be cleaned before a tenant moved in. David came over and quoted for cleaning and epoxy sealing the grout, a 2 day process and recommended that his job be last in the prep for tenant. When the day came to start, he had a guy out sick and couldn’t start. The same thing happened the next day. In order to make things right, he ended up sending two guys to clean the tile and grout for free, early in the morning, the day my tenant was moving in. It looked great. Before they left, I did notice a wet mark on my cabinet that wasn’t there before they started. After a few days, it still hadn’t dried and it was in a very noticeable spot in the kitchen. I was hesitant to tell him since I hadn’t paid a dime, but I knew it would bother me forever. David had no problem sending a cabinet makeover company in to fix it up, at no charge to me. I still have to do the epoxy sealing on the grout, but will have to wait now that tenant has moved in… but would highly recommend Set In Stone to anyone who wants to deal with a highly professional and ethical business.

Don’t hesitate to call these guys. They were wonderful. I live out of state and am selling my East County home. I needed someone I could trust to restore my travertine. I have a very large floor area, both indoor and outdoor. I couldn’t have asked for a better job. They even went the extra mile and fixed a broken piece with no charge. These guys know their stuff. They knew I was in a hurry, and they got right out within a couple days and completed the job within the week. Their price was better than other places that I looked at. I came out to see the work they were doing, and it was just fabulous. Scratches are gone, and the shine is wonderful. I highly recommend them!

This company is so unprofessional, unreliable and unethical. I made an appt. almost a month in advance and less than one hour before the appt. the owner, David, called me to cancel and reschedule because another customer was unhappy with the work they had done and wanted it done completely over again. I explained to him that I had to have it done on my scheduled appt. as I had given my tenant 24 hours notice of the appt. and it would cause them an inconvenience, as well as myself to reschedule as I was going out of town the next day and needed to get this job completed, especially since I had waited almost a month for my appt. He simply said he could not do it and hung up on me! Also, several times when I called him prior to the appt., he said he would call me back and never did so I had to call him multiple times. I would NEVER recommend doing business with this company.

Based on past Unilocal reviews, I talked to David and got an estimate. I contracted with him to refinish my travertine floors and fix my granite counter by the sink.
The results: AMAZING!
The men (Robert and his helper) came on time the designated day and were very professional in their approach. They masked every area that may get any splashing from the cleaner/​polish. They moved the small items still on the floor and within 6 hours they were done.
I can’t praise them enough. I have had this done by others — particularly the granite restoring — and Set In Stone did a superior job!

When we bought our house, we realized the previous owners had been really rough on the Travertine floors. We thought we may have to replace them. We had already spent a lot fixing up the house and we really weren’t looking forward to such a huge cost. A friend recommended Set in Stone. They were so amazing! Our floors look almost new and the grout is clean too. They were friendly and knowledgeable and reliable and SO much cheaper than replacing our floors. I have already recommended them to another friend and will continue to do so.

After 10 years with my travertine floors, I was contemplating changing them. After doing some research and looking on Unilocal I decided to restore my floors and counters. David and his techs from Set-​in-​Stone came in and were very professional, knowledgeable and did an amazing job with removing scratches and restoring my floor and countertops to look like when I first had them installed.
