Sharp Rees-Stealy Mira Mesa

Initially on a simple phone call to make an appointment, the conversation with the agent went horribly wrong. Respectfully, i asked to be transferred to a supervisor and Sheila answered the phone. Sheila is immediately disarming and truly cares about patients. It was an absolute pleasure having Sheila helping me confirm my appointment.
Sheila is one of those super rare people in customer service that are supervisors but really need to be the CEO, so her passion, empathy and outstanding customer service is passed down throughout the ranks.
I’m very excited to continue my care at Sharp knowing Sheila is a supervisor. For the record, all my other experience at this office and Sharp have been outstanding except this one phone call previously referenced. Also, as an small business owner, i have selected a plan through Sharp recently exactly because of my outstanding experience with Sheila and the entire Sharp group.

Got an appointment with sharp as new patient, day of my First appointment the receptionist Salena greeted me politely, but her cell phone behind the counter started vibrating which she ignored, then her daughter calls her on her work line and ask to find something. The receptionist Salena talked to her daughter in the middle of my check in, talks to her daughter explaining where a nail polish was at. I just thought that was really RUDE. There should be a No Cell Phone policy and I don’t think that phone was important enough to ignore me. That’s not a «Sharp Experience» to me. I give her my New insurance card and my ID and the other receptionist had to help her because Salena was on the phone again with her daughter. I filled out my medical history as she was checking on my insurance she told me that I wasn’t covered. Got sent downstairs to business center and she checked my insurance and said I wasn’t covered, but they weren’t checking my New insurance, but the one in their computer which I saw them a long time ago like 15 yrs ago. If the receptionist just concentrated on her work I wouldn’t have been sent home. I called my insurance and said I was covered through sharp and they had to call sharp to inform them of my New insurance which I had given to the receptionist Salena. If I was the receptionist I would of told her daughter that I will call her back after I check in the new patient. I give a 1 star on Salena the receptionist.
I got fitted in eventually after being on the phone with my insurance and sharp on the phone for an hour and a half.
I saw Dr. Santos and she was great and informative. I give her 5 stars, but overall just my first experience I gave a 3 star because I got the run around with sharp wasting my time and gas.

Came here for annual checkup. The overall aesthetics of the building weren’t as great as PMC but the staff is what really bumped up the star rating. The nurse who checked my vitals and height was very professional and well informed. He had a trainee with him which was interesting.
I saw my primary doctor who is Dr. Zanotti who is a very down to earth practician. He went behind the medical process to ask how my personal life was and even gave me advice for medical school. Very kind, knowledgable, and respected person. I would come back

I originally posted this under SR-​S on Activity Road unaware it’s listed as Sr-​S Mira Mesa. Just want to get it in the right place. Very pleased.
Took my wife here today for a MRI on an injured ankle. As an observer, I was pleasantly impressed by much of the episode as I was able to see. From entry to exit we both were treated with the utmost respect, courtesy, and professionalism. At the administrative check in the lady getting the wife’s information was friendly and prompt. Then we met Vee! This woman was a treasure. If she isn’t recognized by S R-​S as no less than Employee of The Year, this organization has to be totally full of employees of a higher caliber. I doubt that.
The technicians doing the work, and each and every individual we interfaced with were stellar. From an old Navy man, Sharp Rees-​Stealy Imaging on Activity Road rates a big Bravo Zulu. That’s the signal for Well Done.

This facility was a little hard to find because they have different entrances, but I had the pleasure to work with Adriana and she was very professional, prompt and polite. The quality of their workers is phenomenal and she was very personal and accommodating to my needs. I love Sharp

i live in chula vista, and though there are speech services in otay ranch, we choose to do the drive. why?, because from the receptionist (roxanne and sammy) to to the management they are superior to their counterpart in otay. otay ranch has a bunch of rude staff, threatening management and it goes on and on. but everyone at mira mesa, brittany, laura, erin, kathy and i am sure everyone else that works there is awesome! Thanks again Kathy at mira mesa for taking care of my son like a patient and thank you Patrice from otay ranch for showing your true colors. trust me, its worth the drive.

Excellent experience on a recent chest CAT scan.
Everyone from Recepton to Billing (Angelica was awesome in providing assistence on making a partial payment pending if my insurance company would cover this procedure) were very welcoming & efficient.
Let’s face it… having radiological imaging done is a very stressful experience in terms of what may be seen /​detected.
Although I had a 4 PM appointment this day, the tech called about 11 AM to say his schedule had a few cancellations and that I could come in earlier. Once there he was totally professional, quick and funny putting me at ease & giving a flawless procedure.
HIGHLY recommended !

I underwent a shoulder procedure today and was so impressed. Chelsea and Dr. Chang were professional, kind and efficient. My ultrasound was done by the time of my scheduled appt. and the rest of the procedure was done within an hour.
The procedure was somewhat painful but manageable, and both Chelsea and Dr. Chang were supportive and encouraging all the way through.
This is how the Sharp Experience is supposed to be!

I’ve been visiting this location since I was a child, and it’s gone through some aesthetic upgrades since then. The parking lots are a bit on the smaller side, but I’ve never had an issue finding a parking spot.
The front desk staff have been kind, in-​person and on the phone. The wait times for seeing my primary care provider have been extremely short. I like my PCP and her support staff, too. My PCP is also very responsive via Sharp’s online messaging system. Regarding lab work, I once had a blood draw here with a very pleasant phlebotomist. Good experiences all around.

Kelsey, Chelsey & V, are the best, as well as the women at the radiology desk.
It’s never a problem. Everything goes smoothly and they are so caring. They greet you with a smile and it’s a pleasure having them there for me. Makes a mammogram much more easier to take when you have such great employees who work very hard to give you the Sharp experience. I love SRS, Mira Mesa!

Of all the Sharp locations I’ve been to so far, this is the best one. Everyone is really, really nice and I’ve always been in and out of my appointments quickly. They have up-​to-​date equipment, too. The office is open quite late — they do MRIs and other imaging up til 8 or 9 in the evening, so that’s convenient.

The place is nice and looks remolded. The place is a bit disorganized. It appears that the scheduling often gets mixed up. However, the staff is really nice. They try to accommodate the customer service.

SHAME ON THEM. Arrived for a PET Scan at 8:15 am. I was required to eat a low-​carb diet the prior day and fast before the test. At 8:45 am I was told that the machine was broken and I would have to reschedule. When asked how often the scanner was broken they indicated that this happened on a fairly regular basis. I asked how I could be sure that it wouldn’t be broken when I returned again. At least the person at the desk was honest and said that this happened to patients before but not very often. I asked is I could be rescheduled at another location where the scanner was more reliable. They looked at my coverage and said that would be a problem because I had HMO coverage. WHAT THE HELL!!! Does that mean that PET Scanner at this location is oldest in the system (and therefore paid for) and is more cost effective for HMO patients. I can’t wait to see how the patient advocate spins this one. AT THIS POINT I DON“T WANT A TEST IN THIS SCANNER. If it is broken on a regular basis how can I trust the results. I will pursue with Anther BC and CA Dept. of Managed Care and see what happens.

I went today to Radiology at his Sharp Rees-​Stealy and after one year since my last visit I have to tell I am very impressed with the remodeling they have done. No more ugly looking medical facility where you enter normal and leave depressed to see the Salvation Army type of furniture and very dated rooms and popcorn cealing. That belongs to the past. Now, hardwood flooring, nice tone down colors, easy to the eyes patterns, no tacky decorations… congrats to the new stylists, this is another thing. That said, the service is impeccable, from the moment you step into this Sharp. I am talking more specifically about the Radiology, the receptionist very caring, they were punctual (no wait on my side) and the technician I had was formidable, explaining the results versus last year and professional and friendly. I highly recommend this location where they treat you very well and fast.

Most of my reviews mention something about parking. With that said, this lot is HORRIBLE.
I arrived just in time for my scheduled appointment but found out upon check in my appointment was getting pushed back 15 minutes. The front desk was great about informing me periodically of the status and even tracked me down while I was killing time wandering around when it was my turn.
The technician was very friendly and kept making sure I was okay and explained everything in detail. I was definitely at ease. Go to this location when given a choice of clinics for any procedures, but maybe get dropped off?

Seeing that I have 17 check ins here, it saddens me that one person can mar my otherwise OK experience with their physical therapy department.
The front desk person, MELISSA, has awful customer service skills. I called in today to fix an under-​payment (it was her mistake as she did not charge me the correct amount) and she gave me such an attitude.
She said the correct payment amount was not in my account (Check again girl, I called the billing office and they found it in the notes).
She said that billing office was another department and has nothing to do with them (Hmmm, don’t you work for the same company?).
She said I should ask my PT to make notes when I come in next (Really? He is 20 steps away. Get off your chair and ask him, or page him!).
What gets me is that she could have just said … «Let me check on this and I will let you know». That is what Customer Service is all about. I am doing my due diligence and am making sure my payments are in order. It is not my fault that their systems are not talking to each other!
Unfortunately, I am stuck with them for a while. Boo! :(

Mrs. Suzanne Collins, was responsible for rehabbing my ankle back to «decent» condition. She failed doing so, after not making contact with me after 1 month of attempted tries to get back into physical therapy. The pain was terrible, she did hands on and failed miserably tweaking someone in my ankle that I seriously can’t help but pray gets better. Stretching, normal physical activities are hard to do now, because of whatever she did to my ankle I have had to give up 4 tennis scholarships due to my inactivity because of my ankle.
I strongly do not recommend Mrs. Collins as she may seem nice, but obviously lacks the capacity to know how to help rehabilitate an ankle. She is an old school physician that doesn’t use computers regularly, but relies more so on the «old system»

I’ve been going to SRS Mira Mesa since I was a teenager. My whole family goes here, if that tells you something.
From pediatric to family care to specialty care, most everyone has been wonderful to work with.
Oh, and they have a good pharmacy too!
