Well this place is a trip. I felt like I stepped into a twilight zone episode. The dude working there strangely reminded me of Jeff Bridges in the big lebowski but older. I walked in and I hear«WHOAH’ from another old guy popping out behind the dude. Then the dude breaks out a guitar and sits in the entry way and says „don’t mind me I’m just gonna sit right here and doodle around a bit“ while the other guys sat there dumfounded mentally undressing me going ‘whoahhhh’. Ok guys simma down i thought as i browsed around at the jewelry and various antiquities. There are a lot of rocks and some antiques, records, jewelery and stuff. ‘Ohhh we are going to serenade her’ says the other dude. The main dude starts playing guitar only it’s like warming up and not a song… then the other dude starts playing flute only it’s not a song either. Neither were even a melody and it did not go together in harmony. It was like kids practicing for the first time on a new instrument. So basically I had to suffer through what i hoped would be some cool tunes while I shopped, but no. I almost walked into a giant spider web with a spider which scared the bejesus outta me. I told the dude and he said ‘where?’ so i dragged him over and showed him and he was like ‘oh WOW that is a giant spider… COOL he must have been working on that awhile. We are only open Thursday through Sunday. He must have been working on that all week!»(I thought today is friday dude). Anyway we all let the spider hang out. I did find a lovely set of amber earrings for a great price.

What a treasure trove! I wandered into this shop because I couldn’t figure out what it was all about, and I am still not sure but I love it. If you are a collage artist, or do assemblage, sculpture, found object pieces etc, you will be in heaven here. I found old sheet music, magazines, postcards and photographs, beads, gems, tiny Buddhas and more, and didn’t have to wait for an auction to finish! It was fun rummaging around the shelves and baskets. Oh, and there’s a recording studio in the back, although there was no one in there when I visited the other day. I’m sure the music is equally cool and quirky!

If you’re in the market for some bronze singing bowls from India, geodes, crystals, rocks, fimo beads, ceramic animals to add to your shadow box collection, salt and pepper shakers, or brass band vinyl from the 50s, this is your place. It should be noted that over half of the store space is dedicated to a zone of musical creativity. Electric keyboard oboe, check, harmonic harp, check, and of course the pentaphone, they’re all here to lure you in from the street with their eccentric, sonic sounds. I might go out on a limb and say it’s a little odd when you realize that the Dark Crystal-esque soundtrack is being performed live by someone you didn’t realize is sitting in the corner, but um, that’s cool. 3 stars for defining random.
