I pay great attention to detail and walk my clients through each step of the painting and design process, often exceeding expectations. My passion for painting and design started in childhood and in college I began painting for friends and relatives. By 2005 I had such a following that I pursued my dream and founded Splash of Color.

Nicole and her crew are outstanding. I had work that needed to be done in a very tight time frame and Nicole assured me that she could meet my deadline — and she did! The lead painter on my job was Buck. He was always on time, courteous, and kept the work area spotless. Even though I am having my carpet replaced, he put tarps over the carpet to keep it clean. The finished job is amazing. I recently added crown molding and new baseboards to my master bedroom, and with the new paint they are gorgeous! I highly recommend Splash of Color.

I found Splash of Color thanks to Unilocal and I highly recommend them to anyone who needs an interior paint job! I first hired another contractor in January and was sorely disappointed — they left paint on the wood floors and carpet (some which cannot be removed). Also, the previous paint contractor did not offer a painting consultation. The walls turned out baby blue instead of grey — I was horrified.
I hired Splash of Color to repaint the walls. I loved working with Nicole and her painting crew. Nicole was an expert in guiding me in the paint selection process. She was able to narrow down the colors very quickly and she gave me time to make my final selection. She was very patient and accommodating and was prompt to answer my questions by email or text. Her crew was very different from the previous contractors — they were amazing! It was obvious they had pride in their workmanship — from the painting to the clean-​up. They treated my house with great care.
Their prices were comparable to other quotes I received.
I would hire Splash of Color again!

Nicole and her crew were awesome! I originally contacted Nicole for a color consult. I literally had 18 sample paint cans and couldn’t decide. Nicole came over, and within one hour, we narrowed it down to three choices. She painted the samples on my wall the correct way, and I made my decision within a couple days. Had I hired her in the first place, I would have never wasted my money on all those other paint samples. Her crew was friendly and professional. Ed even hung a couple light fixtures for me. Besides painting my walls, they also used a Java colored gel stain for my honey oak banister. I can’t believe the difference it made to my home. Of course, no job goes without a hick up. I had a slight incident with the sticky plastic protective covering they put on the carpet. My carpet was brand new, and it left a sticky residue. Nicole was the utmost professional. She followed through, researched the problem with the manufacturer of the plastic protector, referred an exceptional carpet cleaner (Toro), and would not accept full payment until I was satisfied that the residue was removed. I only mention that, because I was so impressed that she really cared that I was satisfied. She is a quality person, and I would recommend her. Thank you, Nicole, my house looks awesome! I would post a photo, but I don’t know how.

Nicole was a pleasure to work with. She listened to my ideas, offered some of her own, showed me samples and gave suggestions. When something didn’t turn out quite as we wanted she cheerfully had it redone. Her crew was on time, worked efficiently and left my house immaculate. I would never hire anyone else!

Nicole and her team are FANTASTIC! I spent weeks trying to figure out the right colors to repaint our entire home, and during our consultation Nicole was spot on with understanding the look I envisioned but couldn’t figure out! She was always professional, prompt, engaging, a great listener, and trustworthy. Her team was happy, cheerful, hardworking, respectful of our belongings, and easy to have in our home. What can I say? Nicole at Splash of Color Paint & Design is absolutely THE BEST! My husband and I have nick-​named her company as the «Nordstrom» of painters. Need I say more? Well I will, just so that you have no hesitation in using her!
I met with Nicole in our new house. We met for a consultation and picked out a color scheme for our entire house that worked with the existing woodwork, flooring, and furniture. She helped pick out just the perfect grey for our main color, and the other colors for the remaining rooms. We had every wall, door, trim, ceiling and vent in the entire house painted– and it looks INCREDIBLE!
Nicole is professional, personable, a perfectionist, and was extremely pleasant to work with! And she bends over backwards to make sure that you as her client is happy and satisfied with her work. She was able to get the job done, done right, and ahead of schedule. What more could you want?
I would highly recommend Nicole and Splash of Color to anyone who is thinking of painting their home and wants it done right– the FIRST time!
Oh, and by the way, I also used Nicole for custom window treatments in my living room and kitchen– and those turned out fabulous as well.

Exceptional service! Nicole and her crew are wonderful, efficient, do amazing work and are the most competitive when it comes to pricing!
I had Nicole and her crew paint 3 of my bedrooms. She came out and did a consultation, recommended certain colors and was spot on.
I had spoken to other painters who seemed less than professional or some who flat out stood me up. She and her crew were on time and gave me the best rate. I have (eventually) more rooms to paint and will be calling Nicole and her crew.

We used Nicole and her team to paint a very large room and high ceiling in our new home. Nicole was extremely helpful in guiding us towards the right color for the walls, and her crew was friendly, punctual, and professional. Her pricing was also very competitive with other bids that we received for the job.
Some of the colors they were paining over were quite dark, and after completion, there were some areas that had some very small areas of the old paint peeking through (honestly — as to be expected in a very large room with a very dark paint underneath). Nicole came back the very next day, and her crew went to task on all of the places we noticed — and found some more themselves to clean up.
Sure, it would be ideal to believe that a job would be painted 100% perfect the first time around, but having painted many things myself, I know that this is just an un-​realistic goal. Especially over a dark color, there are going to be just little spots that get missed and are hard to see depending on the lighting and time of day. What I do expect out of a painter is that they are understanding and responsive to fixing these issues. Nicole and her team met and exceeded that expectation and were great to work with!

We had our kitchen painted which was a small project, just walls and ceiling. The owner was very professional and provided excellent service. The painting job itself was good but not excellent. The painter didn’t tape around the tile so there is an uneven edge between the wall and the tile, which doesn’t look that great.

Five stars for Nicole and her team for doing an amazing job. Nicole was great to work with. She helped us figure out options and colors that would work for our vision and our style. She even gave us the suggestion to paint our fireplace which we didn’t even really consider at first. All the stripes came out perfectly and everyone was really pleasant to work with. Her team was fast and efficient & did an excellent, detailed job. We are so happy with the results and are now plotting our next phase of painting!

Nicole and Ed repaired and re-​painted all the cabinets (they are 18 years old!) in my kitchen. Very pleased with the finished product, they really do look like new cabinets. Half the cost of refacing, which I was pleased with as my cabinets are of pretty good quality to begin with. Her assistant Ed was very meticulous and pleasant to have in the house, I found them both to be conscientious and professional.

This is our third time using Nicole and team for our painting needs and each time we’ve been fully satisfied. Nicole is very professional and takes the time to understand all the details of your job. She also made some great color recommendations, and suggestions on how to keep costs down.
The on-​site team was very conscientious about keeping the work site clean and household items undamaged. Recently we had new wood flooring installed and they put a lot of effort into covering and protecting it. Very much appreciated.

Remember the movie «Pretty Woman» and the scene where Julia Roberts goes into the store with lots of cash ready to buy a dress and the sales person makes her feel «un-​welcome»? Well that was my exact experience with Leslie. Once she found out my neighborhood, she suddenly did not want to help me — without ever seeing my home or where we live. If you say on Unilocal and on your website that you serve all of San Diego county, then you need to serve all of San Diego county. Look at the map displayed on Unilocal — that clearly includes my zip code — and I live in a very nice home and neighborhood if she would have looked us up on Google. Leslie stated she only serviced a 20 mile radius from her office in Carmel Valley and would not schedule an estimate … not welcoming AT ALL and certainly not professional in the least.
That’s OK, I found several other reputable businesses on Unilocal who want new customers.

I want to first apologize that it’s taken me a month to write this review — it’s a well-​deserved 5 stars in my book!
My husband and I hired Nicole to paint the interior of our home and refinish the kitchen cabinets — the entire experience was wonderful, not to mention she and her team did an incredible job! From my initial contact with Nicole through the end of the project, she was professional, knowledgeable, responsive, and informative. I’m not the best with colors, so really appreciated her guidance in picking out colors for our home. Additionally, she was very accommodating of our schedule, planning the project around a trip we had planned, so we were out of the house while the project was completed. We returned to a new and improved home, with everything in its place and back on the walls. We love it!
I would highly recommend Splash of Color Painting and am happy to act as a referral. If we ever decide to do another paint job in our home, I won’t hesitate to look Nicole up!

Nicole and her team are fantastic!
Hubby and I bought a great house but the garish paint colors that the previous owners selected just had to go! I initially hired Nicole just to do a color consultation. She listened to what I was envisioning and helped me choose a color scheme for the entire house. I was so pleased with my color consultation experience that I hired her to paint almost every inch of my 3,000 square foot house, including the ceilings.
This was a big job that took about five days to complete, so during that time I had a lot of interaction with Nicole and her team. They arrived on time and were pleasant and professional. I appreciated that they cleaned up and consolidated their supplies as much as possible at the end of each day. Most importantly, they did a fantastic paint job with perfect lines and edges. With the former colors gone, my house now feels more like my home.

I couldn’t have been happier with nicole and her company! We have been updating our condominium in pacific beach and painting was next up! She was prompt, responsive, accommodating, knowledgeable and experienced, with a great sense of color for our space.
In addition to painting, we needed some drywall and windowsill repair as well as installation of base boards throughout, and the quality of the craftsmanship of her team was exceptional!
Her estimate was totally fair and reasonable and her straight forward communication and guidance was so very much appreciated. Ya can’t go wrong with splash of color!
