St Charles Borromeo Catholic Church

Very beautiful Church!
The priest and all the parishioners makes you feel welcome all the time. I try to attend mass as often as I can and when I do, it’s at 8am.
8am, the parking and seats are plentiful, and the sermon Father gives are always worth listening to.
Minus one star only because this seems like like a very old church and I just started going to mass here, so I’m not too sure on the history yet. However, since it seems old; There is no air conditioning so it can get pretty warm. The priests always tells us before mass, if it’s too hot for your children or yourselves to try to sit next to the open doors. I always bring a nice small foldable fan just in case it does get warm for me, and I do tend to get hot quickly.
The décor of the church is so beautiful as well, I love seeing the new set of fresh flowers at the alter in the morning every sunday.
I would love to continue going to mass here as long as I live in this area and if anyone else is looking for a Catholic Church to attend this would be the church to attend or of you’re in the area visiting.

I’ve never inputted a review; however, St. Charles Borromeo deserves one! I’ve been a parishioner for almost 3 years and I continue to love my faith and church community more each day.
Fr. Chris is a making a lot of changes to bring the academy and parish together. We are currently doing a «Called by Name» theme which we have name tags and we’re able to join in fellowship before/​after Mass. Every 3^rd Friday Fr. Chris and the Knights of Columbus hold a movie night for the whole family.
The newest additions offered are 5:30 PM contemporary Mass, Confirmation Program, and middle/​high school youth group (The Summit). High school nights are Thursdays. Middle school meets Fridays.
Daily Mass is available at 8 AM Monday-​Friday. Eucharistic Adoration is every Wednesday (immediately following Mass) and concludes with Benediction at 6 PM. The Academy Mass is every Friday… which is my favorite because I love hearing the children singing!
Parking is never an issue and the church is easily accessible with the surrounding areas on Liberty Station (NTC), Midway Housing Complex, and MCRD. There is no «cry chapel» but the many parishioners are parents and they embrace many factors, such as, children misbehavior is their way of being involved in the service, God gave them a gift of vocals, and EVERYONE knows it’s not easy bringing children to church but they love having the family there to worship.

In need of a 10am Mass one Sunday, we stumbled upon St. Charles near Liberty Station. The beautiful and stunning reverence, the well-​articulated homily and re-​ordering of the sanctuary was a pleasant surprise to say the least. I’ve heard challenges placed upon me and I appreciate them as they help grow in holiness. I’ve heard uplifting messages, history and, yes, the reality of today’s world and how to contend with it. I go to this church not to get away from the grind but to be spiritually strengthened through scripture and sacrament so I can effectively deal with the hardships of life courageously and with hope. It’s exciting I can get that here! The few people I’ve met truly embrace all of the faith and are very nice. This parish proclaims the entire Truth with a pastor that has zeal.
Wonderful worship treasures and blessings such as Adoration and Benediction are offered by the pastor as well. The children’s liturgy on Wednesday mornings is inspiring. Before weekday Mass, there’s even Lauds! Feeling incomplete? Feel there’s got to be more? Searching for clarity… Give St. Charles a try! It even has a school. Five Stars!
UPDATE – The pastor left in early 2013. A new one was assigned. The liturgy now is your typical Sunday norm offering…
