Dominic was the DJ for our wedding and he did a fantastic job! He has a good energy and is great at reading the crowd! He is professional and polite. Dominic wants to do everything in his power to make sure your wedding is perfect, and just how you want it. I highly recommend him!

I would HIGHLY recommend Dominic of Sunset Mobile Music for any DJ needs! I was referred to him by Bernardo Winery, and I can see why! He is professional and punctual, has an easy song database to request and reject songs, and really was a fantastic emcee on our wedding day! He downloaded songs that were not in the database for us, and even played my dad’s band’s songs that I sent him. My Dad was delighted and shocked to hear his own tunes! Dominic has a great voice, and lead our guests through every step of the night. We had no problems with speakers or microphones– even during our windy ceremony-​and the sound level was perfect. My family even complimented us on our choice of DJ. Dominic has a great personality, and is a genuinely nice guy! You are in good hands if you book him!

I must say that this review is long overdue. For those of you who have planned your wedding or may be in the middle of all the planning– you know that the DJ plays the most important role (aside from the Bride and Groom of course). They set the energy tone, welcome and direct guests on where they need to be, and most importantly keeps the flow going as it should. Talk about a major responsibility. With that said, I was nothing but excited when I first called Sunset Mobile Music and spoke with Owner, Dominic. He was very enthusiastic, professional, and soooo easy to work with. I must admit– I have a Type A personality, and when planning my wedding it was important that we found vendors who were «the best of the best.» I wanted a DJ who was accommodating and attentive, who had great energy although was not overwhelming. And finding that balance is tough. Sunset Mobile Music really allows you to create the vision that you want for your event. YOU create your ideal DJ. From choosing all your own songs to the DJ’s attire, to any narration you want throughout your event– you can personalize everything using their online site. If you aren’t a nut job like me and really don’t care to literally hand pick every song for the playlist they also offer the option to choose genres or decades to play from as well as song and playlist suggestions. It was super easy to use and awesome because you could change and update it as often as you like. We are nothing but thankful to have Frank Trenti from Sunset Mobile Music as our DJ for our big day. All I can really say here is– nobody left the dance floor all night! Thank you Frank and Sunset Mobile Music as you have really helped to create such wonderfully perfect, forever memories for us!

Frank was as good as it gets. For our wedding at Karl Strauss he used our recommendations and created absolute magic on the dance floor. Would recommend him to anyone looking for a great party — it was if he could read the audience and play exactly what they wanted to hear while creating the perfect flow. 100 percent perfect.

Sunset mobile music is the best dj to book your wedding in the San Diego area. We had our wedding package booked through San Diego destination weddings. Our coordinator Jacquelyn Mendoza knows her stuff and booked the best dj for our wedding. The dj Jason put on all the songs we requested and was very accommodating and kept the party rolling all night from our first dance to the cake cutting to the last dance of the evening. Before the wedding started jason was in constant contact with us to make sure we get everything we wanted for the evening. He even did a special request to put my favorite movie song during dinner which was ghostbusters. When your having your wedding make sunset mobile music your first choice!

Dominic definitely went above and beyond our expectations! He was always very responsive to any of our questions via e-​mail and when it came down to our wedding day, he was fantastic! While my husband and I were eating our dinner and other guests were being served, we noticed Dominic was going around to some of our tables chatting with our guests — we REALLY loved that and our guests all commented on how nice he is. His energy is contagious and we are so happy we chose him to be such a big part of our wedding day! Thanks, Dominic!

Used them for our wedding. I was impressed with Dominic with his responsiveness at first but the week of the wedding, I was unimpressed. I updated this review from a 1 to a 2 star because Dominic sent an apology letter to make amends, which is the right thing to do but doesn’t erase the following:
The WEEK of the wedding, he told us he would absolutely not play music without a generator. That was a surprise to us. He said he refused to be liable with cords on the ground if we didn’t get one– okay so we get that, but it would have been nice to know 6 months prior when we wrote up the contract. He said he could get us a generator for $ 100. We agreed. He sent me an invoice later for $ 140. I get that $ 40 isn’t that much, but why not honor what you originally said?! Or at least acknowledge and explain the difference before sending it to me?! To his credit, once I asked about it, he did honor the price he quoted me.
His online system is not the most user-​friendly, but I suppose it’s better than nothing. There was a section you could put 25 «Must Play» songs and 25 «do not play» songs. HOWEVER, the DJ he sent us (Frank) did not follow what we had requested. After he played 3 consecutive songs from our DO NOT PLAY list and started taking requests (which we also said, please don’t do), we were really confused. Did Dominic not give him the list of songs we spent HOURS on? In his amends, Dominic said it was because of the «heat and unbearable bugs» that he must have chosen the wrong playlist.
In addition to playing songs we REALLY didn’t want played (i.e., YMCA), he gave my husband the microphone for an impromptu speech. My wedding coordinator sent Dominic the detailed MINUTE-​BY-​MINUTE schedule for the DJ the week of the wedding, and a speech from us was definitely NOT in it. We never once even mentioned something of that nature in the 7 months of working with Dominic. Frank announced, «And now the bride and groom have something to say to the guests.» WHAT?! We didn’t have any time to even prepare before the mic was in our face and all 150 of our guests were staring, in silence. In Dominic’s apology, he said it was because «most bride and grooms» give those speeches. Well, I guess we’re mutant freaks.

Dominic was great! It was clear that he is an experienced wedding professional. He looked great and was very familiar with the Martin Johnson House. He was extremely responsive to my calls and emails, always getting back to me right away. The wedding went off without a hitch, and it was the greatest party ever! I told him I wanted dancing and he made it happen! It was a small wedding so the dance floor was small, but there was so much energy and so much fun! Would hire him again without question. Thanks!

Wow! I had my wedding at Karl Strauss on July 18^th and included in the package is DJ service by Sunset Mobile Music. It was so great– they have an awesome website where you can pick as many or as little songs as you want. I picked most of the songs for the ‘events’ of the wedding (first dance, father/​daughter, cake cutting, garter, etc) and also picked a few ‘must play’ songs. I worked with Dominic throughout the choosing process and he helped me with some input and was very responsive.
Victor was our DJ at the wedding and he was amazing!!! The dancing and music was some of the best parts of the wedding. Multiple people came up to me during the wedding and after raving about how great the music was. I did choose a lot of the songs however Victor took a lot of my suggestions and added to it which was great. He really added to the base that I provided and his additions went with the whole vibe of the wedding. I couldn’t say more good things about it Victor, Dominic, and Sunset Mobile DJ experience in general, it was great!

I want to first start out by saying how disappointed I am with Sunset Mobile Music. We hired Dominic after a local vendor gave a recommendation and I entrusted his reviews online. We initially met over coffee and discussed the event, I thought we would be in good hands. Dominic did not show up to my event, instead he sent a different DJ without even communicating it to me. We had several emails prior to the event, where he confirmed in writing that he would be the DJ and he would be bringing an assistant. Instead, he didn’t show up. We paid for two vendor meals for him and his assistant, and would have appreciated a heads up. If there was going to be a change in DJ, he should have at least communicated with me prior to our wedding day. The DJ was satisfactory but was not a good fit well for our wedding. We had a few issues as a result. His transitions during the intro and the mothers dance made for some awkward moments as he kept playing the «intro» song too long. All of the pre-​requested songs listed on our form were not played while the song selected for the mother dance was played before the mother dance and then again. He played several songs that I had not requested and that didn’t fit with the vibe of our reception. Not to mention Uptown Funk was played at least twice. My day-​of coordinator told me the DJ was difficult to work with. She said he wasn’t sticking to the time line she provided and that he continuously deviated from it. When she told him that he wasn’t playing pre-​requested songs, he stated, «how am I supposed to make this work?» His unprofessionalism was noticed by more than just the coordinator, and made for a less than perfect wedding day. After the honeymoon, I emailed Dominic my concerns expecting him at a minimum to address my concerns. Instead, he has never responded. If he would’ve acted as a professional and communicated with me, we could have potentially avoided these issues. The only positive thing I can say is that they did my up-​lighting which turned out great.

Now that the dust has settled, the family has gone, and the honeymooners are in another country I can take a minute to say thank you! You were so awesome Sunday! I truly appreciate how you took charge of the event. You put me at ease right away… you were one of the only vendors I did not have to worry about or have issues with. (you and our photographer were the most awesome). The sound quality at the ceremony was outstanding. I really appreciate how you accommodated our speaker and the extra songs at the end. I heard every word and appreciate that so much.
You kept the entire event on pace without feeling rushed. Your interaction with our guests was awesome. I appreciated how you personally dismissed the tables for dinner, very classy. The intro of the wedding party was so fun and really set the mood for a party. My mom and dad even had fun and danced:). My legs and feet still hurt from dancing so much. Most of all Cari and Kyle had so much fun.
Again thank you so much for everything. I will definitely be recommending you to all of my friends and family!

I hired Sunset Mobile after getting a good rec from a friend. Of all my wedding vendors, I was probably least satisfied with the DJ service.
I had a great experience dealing with the owner, Dominic, over the phone and email and through the website. It is all very organized, and the music suggestions are great.
I built pretty much my own playlists and gave them to him. I met with him during the site walkthrough, and we went over all my preferences, cleared up questions, etc. I had a great vibe. I was under the impression the entire time that he would be my DJ for the wedding.
A few days before the wedding, he sent an email saying he was having another DJ helping him out for the wedding. Even then, I thought Dominic would still be the DJ, but he’d have help. I was surprised on my wedding day to find Dominic was not there and it was a DJ I never spoke with.
Frank was the DJ. He was ok. Not great, not terrible. The bridal party entrance music was wrong, he didn’t pause for us to pray before dinner, and the sound to my photo slideshow didnt work as promised. Not major big snafus, but things I felt might have been fixed had I had the chance to meet and talk with my DJ before the event. Otherwise, the event went fine, and dancing was fun. He pretty much played my playlists. He also hooked up the sound for the ceremony and that all went well too.
Still, I would probably not hire Sunset Mobile again.

I highly recommend Dom and Sunset Mobile. While we were searching for djs we never really found what we were looking for. Then we met Dom and saw his website. Man, it has nearly every song and allows you to select songs you want played or don’t want to hear. I think my wife spent close to 20 hours carefully selecting all the right music. He allows you to enter everyone’s name beforehand and spell it phonetically instead of telling the dj before he introduces the wedding party and hearing last name’s be butchered. A really nice touch I thought was the inclusion of a space to include any family issues or recent events he should be aware of. With that we were able to list subjects that shouldn’t be discussed or jokes that may offend some guests.
During the event, and during my dad’s speech my dad mentioned me loving Jump! by Van Halen as a child. Dom then proceeded to add that song to his list without being prompted and started playing it as soon as the speech was over. It’s those personal touches that make me feel like Dom was the best dj for our event. He doesn’t just play the top 100 songs and then call it a night, he enjoys his job and everyone at the wedding felt that and had a amazing time as a result. Sunset Mobile Music was the preferred vendor for our wedding at Karl Strauss in San Diego, and when I saw the reviews, I was optimistic. I’m happy to report that Dominic is amazing and far exceeded our expectations.
He is a kind man with a great smile and knows his stuff. Many of my guests had fun conversations with him prior to the event. The music was great and he kept the party going. Any minor challenges were quickly addressed. He set up our lighting and everything looked gorgeous.
Dominic assisted me in surprising my groom and brought out a guitar post-​ceremony RIGHT ON CUE. The timing really could have ruined it but he was spot-​on.
Additionally, my grandma began to wander a bit during dinner and he kindly escorted her back to her seat. This man is my hero. Do not hesitate to hire him. Would use him again in a heartbeat.

Sunset Mobile Music did a fantastic job at our wedding! They were thorough, engaged, and have an excellent selection of music. They even got the special song that we asked for! Dominic replied to my emails promptly and had everything very well organized! Highly recommended!

Dominic was the best! He was so easy to work and such a nice guy! The website was easy to use and it had great song suggestions. We let him choose some songs as needed throughout the night and he did a wonderful job! The party kept going and he knew exactly when a particular type of song was needed. Almost all my guests got up to dance at some point and it was such an awesome time. The atmosphere was exactly what we wanted and it couldn’t have been any better. We were beyond happy!

Victor was our DJ for our wedding in July 2014 and he was excellent!!! We provided about 20 must play songs via their sunset mobile website and Victor filled in the rest perfectly! The dance floor was packed the whole night and our guests rated it as a top 3 wedding, for a fraction of the cost. Victor helped keep us on time with the timeline we provided him. He also honored all of our requests as listed on our profile via their website.
I set the event up with Dominic who was very professional and very responsive to all my requests. You cannot beat the service they provide for the price. I highly recommend.

We were extremely happy with Dominic as our DJ for my nephew’s wedding on Friday night. He was so friendly and helpful. He was very easy to deal with. He kept the reception on track and kept it lively and moving along at a good pace. He made any announcements we asked him to make along with keeping the perfect timeline going for the night without us having to even think about it! Everyone has told us it was the best wedding and reception they had been to! Dominic had a lot to do with this since he was running the show. The dance floor stayed busy with people having a great time!
All of the songs were picked online and we had no problems. Payments were made easily online also.
He was very professional and even provided the music for the outdoor ceremony and miked my husband who was the officiant.
We highly recommend this company and will use him again whenever we need a DJ!

Dominic DJ’d my wedding and did a great job! Everyone loved the music and he kept it lively. I didn’t have a coordinator for my wedding (big mistake), but I had an outline for my timing of events that I gave to Dominic 2 weeks before the wedding. Of course, on the big day I was pulled in a million directions and had no concept of time. Dominic was awesome and would come tip me off that it was time to end cocktail hour, do the first dance, etc. Thank goodness we hired him because he kept our wedding and reception on track and everyone dancing!

Dominic was the DJ for my wedding and he was awesome! I still get compliments about how fun and great the wedding was and I do attribute that to Dominic’s skill at getting everyone to dance and have a good time! He kept things moving smoothly between the speeches and also did a great job with the couples’ dance and the centerpiece giveaway.
I also appreciated Sunset Mobile Music’s playlist-​maker which allowed me and my husband to figure out what songs we wanted, didn’t want, and might want. It was easy to use and we ended up with the best wedding ever!
